Ridiculous? Or Amazing!

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:58 am by Broken & Brave

Anything miraculous looks ridiculous and absurd-impossible if you will-until the Miracle occurs.

Think you’ve got an obstacle too big to overcome? Let’s recap some amazing tales of victories won:
1. Samson pushed down a building with his bare hands after an epic failure with God.
2. Noah built some ridiculous structure and talked about, what did he call it?…rain?
3. Moses convinced a king to release free labor.
4. David escaped the wrath of Saul, alive.
5. Gods people marched around a wall, yelled at it and the fortress fell down!
6. Gideon said he had too much help so let some men go home when they were already outnumbered in battle.
7. And Mary had a baby, who died for boldly declaring His worth and rolled away his gravestone three days later.

The Bible is full of ridiculous stories that became nothing short of ridiculously amazing! What was the common denominator for all? Each involved people who believed, did not retreat, but pushed in hard and deep and knew a little something about perseverance.

Don’t quit. Never fail to believe that God can and is willing to do anything so show up and show off for you. Believe it! Behind every storm the Son is still shining. ⛅️~Nicole

Focused Intent to Bless

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:44 am by Broken & Brave

The apple of the eye is the absolute dead center of the pupil. Wherever the apple rests, it is completely focused and attentive. I have deep admiration for people who can look others dead in the eye when they speak, fully focused, not distracted, not gazing over your shoulder, not shifting their eyes…focused. It’s like a laser point of intention fixed on a mark. You know you have that persons full attention and they are both powerful and passionate about what they are trying to communicate.

You are the Apple of the Father’s eye. You are the sparkle there, too. He is incredibly proud of all He created in you. He is fixed upon you with laser like focus and intent to bless, protect and adore you! ~Nicole

Comforts of Home

The Lord is Good and His Tender Mercies endure forever.  Fragrant is the sweet smell of kindness.  Aromatic are the fruit of the Spirit as they leave a trail of essential goodness.

Have you ever walked into a house while a fresh fruit pie was baking in the oven? Heaven, right?  The smell is so delicious, so inviting and brings a sense of comfort and “home” even if it’s not your home. This is how it is with the fruit of the spirit.  As we demonstrate these virtues as character attributes in our own virtue it is like we emit a fragrance the world doesn’t understand, but it will highlight our lives to all of man. When fruit is cooked enzymes are released, the firm skin of the fruit softens and the inside of the fruit becomes warm. The more fruit of the spirit flowing in us and through us the more our heart does the same. Life makes many people calloused of heart. But the Goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, Meekness, Quiet Strength, Compassion, Encouragement of our Lord possesses power to make every heart soft and warm when it’s allowed.

Whatever has ailed you in life, give it to the Father of Life as a gift this Christmas. He’s been wanting to dispose of your pain all along. Step into His Heart like the comforts of home and allow Him to share some Goodness with you. ~Nicole

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

Training Wheels

Training Wheels…

Do you remember when you learned how to ride a bike? I do. My Dad taught me. We lived in Long Beach, Ca. I was 5 I guess. I had some training wheels on my bike. They were a bit off balance so if the bike wasn’t kept in perfect alignment the bike would lean a bit from one side to the other. It became a mental challenge to coordinate the pedal motion and the way my body weight rested to try and not depend too much on those training wheels. But it was easy to dare to try because I knew those wheels were there. I knew I wasn’t going to fall. But once those wheels came off…the risk grew and so did my nerves. But I had been adequately coached and had time to practice. Dad knew I was ready and as he held me steady he ran alongside. Before too long he subsided his stride and I began to ride not realizing he had stopped running. I was doing it!

Riding a bike is like walking out your faith. We believe. We begin. And then we become. Every ounce of what God has stored up in you, insurmountable treasury of heart, soul, gifts and talents begin to overflow as He grooms us and let’s us know which way to go, how to walk life out and how to do it all with balance and beauty in our stride. Life is an incredible ride! Enjoy the journey. Abba Father is right there with you cheering you along as you go. ~Nicole
