Smart Cookie Committee

Posted in Devotional, true story tagged , , , at 6:30 am by Broken & Brave

Its hard to be a smart cookie when you have a “crummy” attitude.

I love this because when my daughter was small my mother would always tell her, when she did something well/using her head, “you’re a smart cookie.” It’s kind of an inside joke with us. But isn’t it true? It doesn’t matter how gifted, talented, smart, funny or clever you are. If your attitude stinks everything you work so hard to hold together falls apart, just like a crumbly cookie.

Turn it around today, sing praises when you feel like complaining. Give thanks when you want to point fingers. Rejoice when you want to cry. You’re going to be alright.

Expect it!

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , at 7:59 am by Broken & Brave

How to Live a Life of Expectancy

Place every care, every doubt, every fear on the top shelf. Put it high and out of reach. A place hidden in God where you couldn’t retrieve it even if you were tempted to.

It has nothing to offer you.
It has nothing to give.
In the atmosphere of expectancy is where God wants you to live.

In this arena God will give abundantly to your heart. It will be amazing. God can bless hand over fist. This is the arena of Manifest Blessing to give and live. Like a conduit of all things good-that’s what all people will call you in your neighborhood. You must first believe it and conceive it before God can release it for you to receive it! Believe it! ~Nicole

Edified?

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , at 6:26 am by Broken & Brave

This is a portion of a text I received yesterday from a woman who is in her own zone, breaking the mold, exploring and realizing her own potential as she helps others. She is finding her purpose through service. The serving of others. But not just any service, the service God is calling her to do. God has something unique for each of us to do.

When your heart and soul are edified you come alive. You know in your heart what to do, what you are meant to do. It’s like a quickening of the soul from the Lord guiding you and encouraging you from within. It is a driving force that nothing can compare to and nothing can describe. When you feel it you come alive. You can’t explain it- you have to experience it.

In life there are many things that can bring enjoyment. There are many things that can “drive” our zeal. But the settled heart of the inner man or woman is all of those things and at the same time in a place of content rest. With that, you can’t help but have success. Be Strong. Live Strong. Be Edified and the Lord shall be Glorified. ~Nicole

What If?…

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , at 6:18 am by Broken & Brave

What if…

What if Noah only obeyed God once he understood the request?
What if Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego decided to bow before the idol to spare themselves, but vowed to not do so in their heart?
What if Elijah stayed in a cave instead of going to Jezebel?
What if Mary said no to the Angel of the Lord? What if Jesus got down off of His Cross and said, “that’s all for me. This is too hard and it doesn’t make sense.”

What if…

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is a God who delights in displaying His Power and Creative Miracles. The Who’s Who of Heaven looks down on you and wants to display His power in and through your life. He still has power to roll a stone, break every mold and He still asks us to live by Faith. If we can figure all of His Precepts out and calculate His ways…well, He wouldn’t really be a God worth Worshiping.

Trust Him with your life even when His lead is full of Mystery. His Timing, His Path and your Victory will always Shine through and He will get all the credit. He is trustworthy. ~Nicole

Contagious

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:26 am by Broken & Brave

I just had someone tell me that the way I love The Lord was contagious. Made me feel pretty good. To me, Jesus is everything and I find him completely intoxicating. If it spills over like a flood of Hope, Joy and Inspiration then I am happy. Mission accomplished.

As a Christian I am mandated to Live and serve God above all else. This is a journey to say the least because Jesus is the only soul to walk the earth completed in Christ. But he came. He bled. He died…
So you and I could be free from all that tries to tie us to that Tree.

He left with us the Holy Spirit who is our Counselor. He guides us. The Word says His sheep know His voice. His Voice is all together lovely.

A personal relationship with Christ is what drives us to obey Him, at least that’s how it is for me. So how much more do I admire people who live and follow Christ and maybe they don’t hear Him as clearly. He may speak to them in different ways or to a level appropriate for the Call on their life. He gives us His Spirit Abundantly but in direct proportion to what He requires of us. What a measure of Grace! For the Power of His Presence affects everyone differently. What may be a blessing to one could be a burden to another.

So love God. Cherish the gifts He has given you. Love others. Cherish the gifts He has given them as well. For we are His Dream Team built to Overcome. ~Nicole

Reset that Mindset!

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:26 am by Broken & Brave

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Hello, Sunshine! It’s a New Day! Reset your mindset and get ready to experience greater things than you have yet! God has been faithful to you.

He has put a lot of love into you.
When you put a lot of love into even the little things; the little things will be packed with love and become big things.

Reser that old mindset, no regret!

Mercy Seat & Baseball⚾️

Posted in true story, Uncategorized at 1:56 am by Broken & Brave

What is the measure of value?

I recently went to a baseball game where the home plate umpire wasn’t all that consistent in how he called pitches. A throw that was outside and called “ball” one pitch may have been thrown two times in a row only to be called on the second throw a “strike”. Usually, a player can get the feel of the Umpire. They quickly learn what a perfect pitch looks like to him. They see how he values each throw and this helps them adjust and look for those pitches they know he will call strike if they don’t take a swing.

At this game the players grew unsure and held back more than they could because they didn’t know what was what. They began to second guess even the best throws because they didn’t know how the umpire would value it.

Life can definitely be like a game of baseball. We get thrown a curve here and there. We need to be ready for them. So, I couldn’t help but to see an analogy tucked within this story.

How do you measure value?

Everyone values something or someone. We give time to things and people we value. For example, we value our job because we are either passionate about it, our customers/associates or at least because it pays the bills and we’d like to remain employed. We value our family and we invest in them because we care about them. We have friendships we value and people definitely value their possessions in this day and age.
We can learn a lot about people by what they invest in because of value.

God values people.

He came to this earth for relationship. That, in fact, was his only purpose. To save. To love. To protect and deliver. He gave us a little Book of Love to follow so we’d know how to move and what to swing at and what to dodge-like my ball game analogy.

His rules are consistent.
His love is consistent.
His friendship is consistent.

Even on the hardest days or the days He seems Infinitely far away. He always shows up. He’s always there. He always cares and He is always prepared with what you need should you include him. He will always let you decide how much of him you will value.

Place some value in him. Just some space carved out in our heart, our mind and our decisions. Do these things and you will never strike out. That’s a promise.

He’s with you today. Step up to the plate. You can’t miss!

~Nicole

Testify To Hope…

Testify to Hope…

By the time I was 5 I began to experience a lot of rejection. A pattern developed in my young life and I was repeatedly told I wasn’t talented enough, smart enough, gifted enough, outspoken enough. I was quiet, timid and shy and that lead me to feel overlooked and invisible. I was frequently told I didn’t do it right or I did it wrong. And I believed it.

This was all happening inside of me. I was involved and active to a degree, but I kept to myself a lot as well. I had people who loved me, my family, but because of the tender nature of my heart I focused on the wrong thing.

I couldn’t recognize all the cool aspects of my personality and abilities because I was too busy absorbing the negativity. Then, I began to hear God speak to my heart about all that I am and all I am capable of and can do. The day I stopped believing the lies of discouragement spoken over me and accepting God’s approval is the day my life began. It’s also the day I decided to purpose myself to make others feel amazing. I’d always been a people lover, but my heart kept me away and afraid of being hurt. God used my misery to help me see with the eyes of my heart all of the worth, ability and possibility people possessed. I could see what He saw even when others can’t see it in themselves.

I was not born with self confidence. I adopted God’s Confidence and became whole again. So many walking wounded It makes my heart break. God sees you. He knows. You are special. It doesn’t matter your obstacles or opposition or even if you aren’t the most efficient at what you do. God has a plan for you…and that plan is extremely extraordinary and special. ~Nicole

Daily Bread…literally

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:15 am by Broken & Brave

Faith in Christ means we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Most of my adult life God has been training me and equipping myself, my husband and our children, to trust God as our Source for everything. To live by Faith…our daily bread kind of stuff. This journey has been difficult, stretching and completely awesome and amazing. To witness the miraculous move of God in your life is something no Christian should be denied. The more we step out in faith-all Christians-the more we meet the face of God. It is brilliant and I can’t wait to get even deeper glimpses of Him.

On this journey a testimony that has inspired me over and over is the life story of George Mueller. I highly recommend you read his story. This amazing man did everything by faith and built extraordinary orphanages and raised countless children by vehicle of the provision of persevering and fervent prayers. He is considered one of the greatest prayers of all time! Here’s just one story:

“The children are dressed and ready for school. But there is no food for them to eat,” the housemother of the orphanage informed George Mueller. George asked her to take the 300 children into the dining room and have them sit at the tables. He thanked God for the food and waited. George knew God would provide food for the children as he always did. Within minutes, a baker knocked on the door. “Mr. Mueller,” he said, “last night I could not sleep. Somehow I knew that you would need bread this morning. I got up and baked three batches for you. I will bring it in.”
Soon, there was another knock at the door. It was the milkman. His cart had broken down in front of the orphanage. The milk would spoil by the time the wheel was fixed. He asked George if he could use some free milk. George smiled as the milkman brought in ten large cans of milk. It was just enough for the 300 thirsty children.” (Work sited Christisnity.com)
When you don’t know what God will do, how and when? Is there even enough time for Him to begin? Remember George Muller and remind God again. Seat yourself at His table, tuck in your napkin and let the miracle feast begin!
If he did it for him-he can do it for you. ~Nicole

The Blessing💞

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:02 am by Broken & Brave

He is the Light Of the world and in Him there is no Darkenss. Death could not contain Him. Worry could not refrain Him. He was the undefeated Champion of the world.

When storms and trials of life try to take you outside of God’s plans for your life-it will not overcome you if you cling to the one who sold Himself for you.

He has not forgotten you.
He is the King of all kings and He is besotted with you.

People struggle to understand pure, unadulterated, unconditional kindness like that because of limited to no experience with it. We draw our perceptions and build our emotions around experience. The purer a life experience the easier it is to believe in purity.

Friend, I don’t know what you are going through. But I do know the Lord has me up in the middle of the night to speak courage to you. You are an Overcomer. He has not forgotten you. He’s just grooming you. He’s bringing rise to the polish and luster of His Shine in you. You’re not through.

You will make it through to the other side and smile, beaming with pride (the good kind), because of all He brought you through and in yourself you will find a Champion Prize Fighter for Heaven that you never knew…
could be you.

You are LOADED with POWER, PASSION and PURPOSE.

Be patient.
Then, God will show You His Blessing…

💞THE Blessing!
