God Still Speaks

God Still Speaks

All of Creation sings a love song to God. It can be seen in the green of a leave, the gentle bend of the willow tree and every bird in the air that has its own song to sing.

God’s Voice still speaks. The problem for most in hearing His Voice is difficult–there too much background noise in the way. Spiritual background noise may include negative thinking, discouraging thoughts, depressed thoughts, hopelessness, shame, guilt or anger/bitterness. This type of thinking clouds the heart and soul and makes it difficult for you to know what God really has to say about the troubles of your every day.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone in a busy street? It’s difficult to hear what the other person is saying and sometimes difficult to clearly communicate your words as well. You pull in closer, you look intently at the face of the one speaking, you may even bend your ear in to the conversation. This is what we must do with God. So many want to hear His Voice. You can! Lean into Him in prayer, conversation. Talk to him like you would a friend. Do not feel silly. He hears it all and if you faithfully pursue him you will find him. It’s a promise in Matthew 5 given to you.

God is faithful. He will help you clear out the clutter and noises of life and pull himself right up right to your side. He will look intently into your eyes and He will search your heart and soul. He loves you dearly and wants you to know…He cares. ~Nicole

Light & Life

“Peace, when ruling the heart and ruling the mind, opens in both every avenue of joy.”     ~Sarah W. Stephens

As the body of Christ we are to have both unity and diversity, but all should be walking in intense levels of peace and joy. If you have yet to discover joy or its source, I hope this little diatribe will help you.

“Therefore with joy you will draw water from the well of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3

Joy is not the same as happiness. Joy flows from the soul despite conditions of life. When things are good, we have joy and happiness. When things are not so good, we may not have outward happiness, but we can flow in continual joy. True joy spills out onto others. We don’t just talk of joy and walk around sour. We have a sweet disposition that encourages others without requiring any words spoken. It is like a pleasing aroma that fills the air.

So how do you get there? You must fix your position. Stop focusing on the things not well in your life. Focus on your blessings. Everyone has a blessing! So find it, something to be thankful for. Maybe you struggle with gratitude? Ungratefulness is the most slippery path to misery and is the opposite of joy.

It will take work.

•You have to focus your mind on good, not evil (Phil. 4:8)

•When your thoughts stray, you quickly correct them and bring them back in alignment with something you might look forward to or something that brings your heart a light and life giving countenance.
(2 Corinthians 10:5)

Anything that produces light and life to your heart, think on these things. It could be your kids, your pet, it could be a favorite blanket you get to snuggle under after a long day. It could be how good you plan to feel after eating the healthy meal instead of the fast food. Example, I had a client last night tell me of the length and stress of her day. She has a very prominent position in my community with much responsibility. She was exhausted and almost skipped her workout, but decided she would feel better after if she went and she did! She looked forward to the “after” satisfaction vs. the exertion of the workout. She found her joy.

“In your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

You’ve got the idea. Once you find your joy you will know it. It will spill over on others like a gentle stream of refreshing waters. You won’t have to force yourself to smile, it will just glide across your face effortlessly.

If you haven’t found joy yet, don’t be upset. It eludes countless people. My pen is simply wanting to encourage you into some action steps to find it. So if your tired of the monotony of your misery, I hope this yields a key.

Come alive with Life and Light and be vibrant in Christ! ~Nicole

Keep Going!

IMG_9650“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

Don’t give up when God speaks…
Though they may grow peculiarly, Miracles do happen!

It never matters really what you say you’re going to do, it’s what you actually do, the follow through that magnifies the respect of others and the breakthrough. Are you equipped to overcome? Of course you are. But do you believe it? Do you believe you have the resolve necessary to do something extraordinary with your life? You will always fulfill your destiny, on time, when your heart is fully aligned with God’s ideas for your life. He charts the coarse, He paves the way, and he is looking for people to do great things and are willing to stick and stay. So many settle for lesser blessings because when it got hard, they quit. That’s why they say the high road is the less travelled road. Few people are willing to complete the journey.

I encourage you to change your mind. Change how you think. Upgrade your perspective of what “hard” or “difficult” really looks like. Put yourself in the shoes of other people, those who will benefit from your perseverance:

•Your family for instance.

•Yourself.

•Perhaps countless people you have never met and never will meet.

You’re life is not your own. You are apart of something bigger than “you”.

No matter what is in your heart to do or achieve, if God planted it then He makes a way for it. Just remember, many miracles go unnoticed because they are disguised as perseverance!
Don’t give up! God will always work it out. He’s got plans of His own. ~Nicole

“But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.”

Get Connected

Saturday is maybe the fullest and busiest day of my week. Between kids sporting events, morning clients, volunteer work and a few errands, it can be quite insane! Yet, it almost never fails to be one of my favorite days each week. I love my kids and watching them Shine. I love my work and my clients rise to the occasion every time with anticipatory gleam in their eye. Who can’t love that? I love going to the community and loving on those deemed unlovable and forgotten. I have a heart for the underdog.

As I left yesterday I was in a hurry and forgot to grab my phone. I knew almost immediately, but was already a mile down the road. I had no time to go back. It was fine, I don’t need it for work, but I still felt a bit naked without it. You get that little thought, “What if I have an emergency and need it?” I think now a days most people do.

It made me immediately think about how every morning I cover my heart and mind with the Word, worship, prayer and a feverishly scratching pen. Writing is for sure apart of my worship regimen. I adore my pen. I equip myself for the day by covering myself in Ephesians 6, the whole armor of God.

When we are covered in armor, we may still get nicks and chinks, but we aren’t derailed by our day, or what others have to say, or unplanned circumstances meant to throw our attitude away. We stand strong, stay the coarse and get it done! What if everyone felt a little more “undressed” when they leave the house without doing this instead of feeling undone when their phone isn’t in hand? The world would be a kinder, nicer, and glorious place. Give it a try, if there is an emergency, you’re going to need it! ~Nicole

Anointed

Every human has a spirit that dwells in the soulish region of our body. The soul is the heart of who you are. Every person longs to fill it. Each man or woman, boy or girl, may fill it differently. God gives gifts to all mankind, whether it’s acknowledged or not.

You have a priestly anointing and a prophetic anointing. Most dwell in the priestly anointing. For example, you go to church, you read the Word, you pray and practice your faith. Priestly anointing. But then there is the prophetic anointing! Most neglect this anointing because they don’t understand it. Because they don’t understand it, they reject it. People always reject what they fear.

The prophetic anointing surrenders the heart to reach beyond circumstance, physical facts and acts according to what the future holds. Your prophetic anointing helps shape your future. You speak what you want to see and take actions steps in belief that it will happen. You trust God with timing and circumstances, but you do not shrink back or waiver in your belief. You stay plugged into it. God is the Power Source that fuels the ambition and changes the conditions to create the opportunity for it all to fall into the right place no matter how tight the space. This kind of atmosphere is where Creative Miracles begin to exist…Signs and Wonders appear…and people from miles around begin to draw near.

God loves the prophetic because that’s where the “magic” is.

“Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives–especially the ability to prophesy.” 1 Cor. 14:1

Does it all sound a bit odd to you? Really? Just look at the life of Noah. God spoke it. He believed it. It conceived something great in his heart and soul. He began to do what was required to make the dream a reality. I imagine he was asked thousands of times what he was doing. What did he say? Every time he spoke of it he was casting vision for the people. No one saw his vision or received it…until the rain came.

There are countless examples of modern day people who lived a life full of success that was birthed out of deep duress. They believed in the dream and pursued it with their everything. They told others what they saw for their future, where they were going…they knew with all their heart it was a future worth knowing.

Your future is inside of you. It is up to you to hone your focus. Be decided. Get Intentional. Purpose your choices. Take action steps…and have a nearly blind ambition to achieve what you were placed on this planet to do. YOU are a Planet Shaker and the Kingdom of Heaven just may be counting on you. You’ve got tremendous Legacy within you. You are Prophetic! ~Nicole

“By faith Noah, having been divinely instructed concerning the things not yet seen, having been moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.”
Hebrews 11:7

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalm 23:5

Years ago, after a series of unfortunate and painful events in my life that occurred tragically and with exaggeration, I cried out to God. I had lost everything. My home, my possessions and now my purse had just been stolen. I said, “Why?” And then I heard Him reply with a bone stiffening reverence…

I sat straight.

Ever had God pierce your soul like that? I have, on a number of occasions. It has helped me understand what happened when people saw angels in the Old Testament. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart like a voice so clear it was nearly audible…

“I want to use your Voice!”

So, just like that, I pulled myself together and thanked him for safety, it was truly all I had left.

I’ve written for years. I’ve been a writer before I knew I was a writer.
My pen is my sword and I write for the Lord, and the flow of one of my spiritual gifts is attached to it.

I see in my heart a wounded Church in America that needs deeper love in itself for healing and restoration for she is a broken and terribly wounded Bride. I see a Church that needs to love harder the world at large around it once it receives its own healing–for people truly cannot give what they don’t have.

Pure Love is unconditional and given without warrant or measure. I know I am called to heal with God’s Power in my pen. I am called to love the Church strong. I learn to love every day, more deeply, even people who despise me. What an honor when my pen and my life encourages and even influences anyone, especially someone who doesn’t like me despite not knowing me.

To God be the Glory….isn’t He Glorious?

Serenity

“The Lord on high is Mightier than the noise of many waters, than the mighty waves of the sea.” Psalm 93:4

I have a large family. I did not come from a large family so this has been a new experience for me. I grew up in a quiet home where everything was always in order, tidy, organized. I tend to be a quiet, soft spoken person. I’m not loud. But when you have five children, four of which are boys, it can get kind of crazy. I think we are overall fairly organized people, but you learn to let somethings go, re-prioritize and maximize moments differently.

Getting time alone with God is my fundamental key to making it all work. Life can pull a Mom in a thousand different directions and so much noise can fill our day and our head. But securing a quiet space in time and place will be a spiritual encounter that will usher in serenity and sanity.

Find your quiet space today. Get in that place and speak your heart to God. He has some precious promises he’d like to speak to you, but first he must know where you are.

The Lord is full of promises. Because his heart is filled with Integrity, He will honor every last one.

He will shape your Faith Shatterproof! ~Nicole

Purity and a Bunny

Several years ago my kids came running toward me from the back field with a very young rabbit in their arms. They were so excited to show me what they had found. After asking a series of questions it seemed the only answer I could find was that maybe it had just been driven out to the country and dumped…finding its way into our yard and our life. I didn’t want it to be eaten by a hawk so we decided to keep it and make it a pet. This rabbit was beautiful. It was purest white without a single flaw or blemish of color. It did not have the usual red eye of albino variety you’d expect on a pure white rabbit, she had blue eyes, deep and clear. We named her, Purity.

We had Purity for a few years and enjoyed her company. She eventually died from what we believe was the bite of a black widow we found in the back of her cage the same morning she faded.

Life can draw parallel from my cute little rabbit.

God seeks us to come to him and serve him in absolute purity. It is good to be good and do good, but what he is really after is an unblemished heart-pure like the fur of my rabbit. Pristine. Clean. He wants us to “love well”.

The world is a tough place and seems to grow tougher by the hour. The scriptures talk about guarding Purity for it becomes the prey–just like my rabbit and the spider that day. You have to guard your heart, guard your mind, protect who you are in Christ and continue to grow in him. Then you can lead a life that is spotless and shines just as my little rabbit did.

Every person is leading someone or something. Believers are all called to lead, even if it’s only your own life and choices. You have influence-more than you know. Others watch and look to you. The greater the purity of heart, purity of love and purity of motive the more respect and honor from others to you will be devoted. You’ve got so much to offer so let it shine through…Glorious. ~Nicole

The more conditioned you are the more you can endure.

I see this in my training and the training I provide for my clients. The adversity a workout can bring has prolific and far reaching benefits. Same it true for an athlete. You know what it is to press through pain and discomfort. You know how to focus your mind and stay on task and press toward your objective–whether it’s a finish line or fitness goals or even just the end of the workout! You find satisfaction in perseverance. The ability to persevere and be committed provides stellar integrity to a person’s own beliefs and mindsets about themselves.

Whatever your life holds. Whatever path or race you embark on–God wants to Coach you along and see you cross the finish and have an excellent life. Embrace the things that challenge you. Keep your eyes focused, like a race horse with blinders on. Never allow distractions to overwhelm you. Learn to recognize what is mere distraction and what had purposed merit.

Be intentional and resilient.
God’s got for you a Mighty Finish, but you can’t win the prize if you don’t participate in the race. You have to keep moving forward–do it all for His Glory.

You are Glorious! ~Nicole

“Then the Lord will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night; over everything the glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelterand shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.”

Be the Light…

Last weekend our power went out. So what did my boys do?…Each went for the light on their phone or a flashlight. The power was out for a good hour or more and they laughed and giggled and played on the floor. I thanked the Lord for this short lived inconvenience. It gave them time together they probably really needed. But oh how we all celebrated when the lights came back on–we hadn’t eaten and I needed to cook dinner!

There isn’t a soul under heaven that does not need the light. The light brings us heat and warmth, the sun nourishes the earth and us humans with its glorious rays full of vitamin D. The plants and foliage grow more abundantly after the rains and then into the light. When it is light people are less depressed and their mood is bright. We even change our clocks in most of the nation twice a year just so we can maximize the light! In fact, the Light and Love of Heaven are indispensable in your life. Indispensable!!

Indespensable-Absolute necessary; essential. Obligatory; unavoidable.

You need it. Your soul craves pure light. When we learn something new or become aware to a new level we are said to be “enlightened”. There was an entire age in history called the “Age of Enlightenment”.
Light is good.

You are the Light in the lives of others. You may not realize it, you may not feel it or believe it, but it’s true. You have a sparkle all your own that is like the Mysteries of Heaven breaking through. Others are relieved by the help you bring. Some look forward to seeing you, even if they never tell you. Many wouldn’t have a day quite the same without a morsel of your presence in it. Don’t you see how needed and necessary you are? Life might be a bit dimmer, less glimmer, less hope, less optimism without you in it.

So keep holding on and pressing on!
Whatever darkness you life may currently hold…it will fade away just as my kids found out Friday evening.

In you, it is quite True…heaven takes Delight! So keep holding tight and press through the night. Everything will be alright–just wait and see! ~Nicole
