Legacy

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:33 pm by Broken & Brave

If God knows the very number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30), every thought you’ve ever had- both spoken and unsaid- then it is safe to say that He has woven your place in time like a thread. Beginning to end, He knows it all and He is there for it all.

“He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.”
Psalm 147:4

When I was fourteen years old I was a pedestrian crossing the street and I was struck by a car…

I got up and walked home unharmed.

When I was eighteen I was run off the highway by an 18 wheel trucker. I don’t know if he had dozed off behind the wheel or just didn’t see my small vehicle…

I was protected from harm or collision.

When I was twenty-one I lost consciousness while in a body of water (and no, I had not been drinking). I had to be drug from the water and resuscitated…

I sustained no damage to my lungs or body. I did not drown.

I have been homeless twice for sustained periods of time at no fault of my own or poor decision making. Purely a product of uncontrollable conditions. Never did I go without. God was with me in it and this is where I learned about God’s incredible sense of timing. I saw signs and wonders, miracles, daily and to this day I experience them often…

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” Mark 16:17

I received a completely broken heart for the forgotten people, the outcasts, of society.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

These are only a few examples, but I know beyond a shadow of doubt that everything I have been protected from and all I have endured, God was there. God cared. God paved the way and sustained me, even when it felt like it was only by a thread. In fact, the deeper I experienced adversity, the Greater I could see and feel His lead.

“You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.” Psalm 18:36

The Word of God says that we receive territory when we overcome adversity. In fact, I consider trials to be blessings in disguise. It breaks my heart to see the Body of Christ asleep, not knowing who they are in Christ. Not truly trusting Him with their lives. I see many allow the discomforts of life to shape choices instead of seeing with the eye of their Spirit. I see a deep reliance of physical eyes and rationale. The more self sufficient we are the less we have to rely on God. It doesn’t happen on purpose. I think it is a slow slipping away, over many generations, as a result of living in a very blessed and comfortable nation.

“But showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.”
Exodus 20:6

Grab hold of God. He is the King! Do you believe, really Believe He is who He said He is? Do you truly believe you have access to all that He has? What do you want your Legacy to look like? It is far greater to make an impact that will touch generation after generation decade upon decade after you leave than to sacrifice Destiny and Legacy for comfort and ease.

Whatever God has for you to do, do it! Don’t be afraid! Be zealous for you life and the purpose imbedded within you! Every obstacle and adversity God will only use to serve you, strengthen you and can do nothing to stop you because God has got you!

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

Isaiah 40:29

This word in my heart is not meant to chastise or belittle. If you know me at all, you know that is not my heart or my style. No, my purpose is to stoke your belief in impossible things and shift your every perception to pour forth in deeper revelation. You are a Candidate for Victory!

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1

So whatever obstacles face your life right now, look to God, ask Him to shift how you think and to align your perspective with His. Ask for eyes to see with deeper clarity the bigger plan that is in His hand. You are apart of something bigger than yourself and you will quit on yourself long before God would ever dream of quitting on you. He just can’t do it. It’s not His nature. Be inspired, friends, and believe for bigger things.

Cherish this moment…
