Inferno of Hope

Posted in Devotional, true story, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , at 6:25 am by Broken & Brave

Yesterday I walked into the performance facility on campus where my spouse is employed. It happened to be filled with a water polo club mid workout, my water polo playing son included in the mix . As I crossed the threshold I instantly detected the aroma of chlorine. The boys had come straight to weights from the pool. It put a little smile on my face because there have been other teams in there at times that put off a far different aroma than the smell of sanitization as I entered in.

I’m actually fairly sensitive to smells. I guess I have a strong sense of it. I can walk on a path and catch the flavor a flower exudes and it’s just enough to delight my heart and mood. I love noticing the little, subtle, mostly unnoticed details of life.

Our life puts off an Aroma.
How do we smell?

When we allow God to stroke our heart, heal its pain, fuel it’s worth it gives spark to the bones and Light to the eyes. Like a match that has been struck, it begins to kindle and bring back the innocence of childhood like Faith.

As we walk close to the flame, we experience its warm. As we abide in it, trust it, savor it, knowing we will be consumed by it, but never burned from it. We begin to put off a pleasing Aroma much the same way a scented candle would release a fragrant perfume.

It becomes evident, in this Glorious position of Grace, Peace and tranquility, that we becomes an Inferno of Hope that possesses power and passion- just like the intense heat of the flame- to help others cope all because we embraced Hope.

Today is yours…
flavor it with a Sweet Scent.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Ephesians 5:1-2

Devoted & Decided

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:57 am by Broken & Brave

Pioneering is not for everyone. Blazing trails sounds exciting, but it is hard.

Recently we took a trip to Tahoe. From Northern California we must drive through the Donner Pass. Anyone who ever payed attention during history class remembers the horrific outcome of these pioneers. My mind gets riddled with questions about what they actually experienced. My mind frequently travels through history and remembers the pioneers who cultivated this land. I think of Jamestown, the party in Roanoke, the first permanent settlement of America. Disappeared. No one knows what became of them. I think of the countless Christians who exemplify true Christianity the best. The voice of the martyrs. They love, live and sacrifice. They lay aside self seeking and are a panel of Hope connecting God to the world.

What have you been called to pioneer? Are you willing to go first even when it means you go alone? You will soar to great heights, but many will abandon you as the air gets thin. But do not allow this to discourage you. For though there is thinner air, this is where the supernatural takes hold of you. If you are truly seeking deeper encounters with God, this is where you will find it. The Almighty will give you a forehead of flint that is mentally tough enough to cut through granite.

Pioneering, going first, is not for everyone. But for those who connect with what I am saying, this is for you. This piece speaks to the heart of valor. The warriors. The ones who go in with nothing but intent to forage, pave and make a way and allow others to travel across on their backs if they have to.

God has soldiers and they don’t all look like strong or fit men. Man looks at the outside. God is consumed by what we possess within.

As the times and days grow darker we must decide. Which side of heavens fence are we in? We must be All In and Decided. ~Nicole

Harnessed for Glory

You are a sculptor.
You are an Artist.
You are an Inventor, Creator.
You live an Inspired Life.
You’ve been given Today.
You can handle anything the world throws at you. You are well able to grab it, lasso it and take control of all the glory contained in it.
Take inventory right now of all the things in your heart that make it flutter and your eyes twinkle. All the possibility, dreams and potential.
Harness it and take it for a ride!

God is so clever and kind. He not only wants to give us the desires of our heart, but He also gets a tickle blessing us with favor and gifts we don’t ask for. He just loves to give more…

“Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

Inventory of Heart

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:50 am by Broken & Brave

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.”

Psalm 145:7

The Lord is good! His love for you is rich and powerful, dripping with graciousness, peace and a tranquility beyond understanding.

The Lord is not ambivalent with grace. His love for you and the smile you bring His face cannot be erased.

True Grace is like walking on water. Its not seen, but If it were…it would be questioned for authenticity.

I believe in Grace and the absolute healing power of forgiveness.

May all your relationships abound with the essence of this!
Be Blessed! -Nicole

Faithful Friend

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 7:02 am by Broken & Brave

Part of being a good friend is being a good listener. It is more than just hearing words spoken, but listening for heart expressed. Sometimes people do not need advice, only a shoulder to lean on and the kindness of a gentle ear followed by tight lips. Jonathan was such a friend to David. The Bible says his soul was knit to David’s soul and loved him as his own soul. Reading this passage in 1 Samuel 18 would make anyone desire to HAVE a friend like Jonathan. Let me challenge us all today to BE a friend like Jonathan.

Whole Hearted

When we have an open wound we cover it to protect it from the elements that may contaminate and infect it, say with a bandage. If it’s a deep and fresh wound, of course, this is wise. But after some time it is important to take the mask off of the wound and allow the fresh air and sunshine sink in and assist in the healing. The same is true of our hearts. When it is wounded, we mask it to protect it from being hurt some more. Some masks are layers and layers deep for the depth of the wound is severe. But God, in all of His love, though it is painful, He desires to pull off the mask and pour some fresh air and the warmth of His Light down deep inside and heal that heart once and for all. It takes courage, lots of it…if this is you, God has some healing ointment ready to assist you.

No more masks, only open hearts.

“The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.” Psalm 145:13

…One of my all time favorite passages. Can you not feel the Peace, the Comfort, the Promise of His Faithfulness? One of the saddest things I observe in others is when they give up on their own promises from God. Don’t give up. Don’t spend your time pondering the shortcomings of the past. Allowing your mind to fear disappointment, even if it has been a reality with sting upon your life, it isn’t going to help to Comfort you.

~But God CAN, and because He is with you, you CAN, too!

Door Knobs

Posted in Devotional, true story, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , at 7:11 am by Broken & Brave

When I was a young girl my Grandparents lived in the cutest little house in San Pedro, CA. It’s a town near the port of Los Angeles. My Mom grew up in that house. There were many little charms about this place that hold memories for me. I could write a lot about it…

But right now my mind is on one particular thing. It was a door knob. This house was so petite it had a small living/family room, a tiny, yet still adorable kitchen, three bedrooms and one little bath located for all in the hall. The hall had great golden chimes on the wall, an old fashion door bell that was fully functioning. Awww, but the knob on that door to bathroom was glass. It looked like a giant diamond and in my mind I imagined it was. I’d put my fingers around it pretending it to be the hugest ring I’d ever seen. This is only one of probably a thousand charming little memories in my heart of this place. What a great memeory. I hadn’t thought of it in years until this morning I came across a note I wrote a while back and I instantly recalled It.

A writer is always writing. I have notes, memos, scratches everywhere. Ideas…many never used until God needs it and then I come across it and new inspiration attends it.

I found it to be a unique piece of writing, just a small fraction of a note, because just last night I heard my Pastor speak of the disciples and how they locked themselves inside a room for fear of persecution after the death of Christ…I wonder if they had door knobs?

Anything in history that God has used greatly He allowed it to walk through a crucifixion of sorts. There is a death to it before God will resurrect and bless it to its fullest measure of promise. He did it with the Lord first. He has done it with individual people, ministries, and  even businesses He intends to use mightily.

Nothing is shielded from the smelting pot of the Almighty.

He intends to produce a pot of gold worthy for a prince. Worthy to be offered to the King of kings.

God can make a way where there seems to be none. I frequently say, “God has a million ideas on how to remedy any given situation…I only need one.” When you’ve done all you can, and you can do no more, you must be still…its no longer up to you.

There is One who is a door opener. We each have a job to do. A purpose to fulfill. He can make a way, but we must do our part. There is a time to move. There is a time to be still. Where are you?

Whatever your course, your disposition, your countenance it is so important to be a yielded vessel to the Almighty. There is no room for the proud heart. For pride is mankinds ultimate demise. Pride demands its own way while Love pulls up and chair and says I’m with you to stay. When we yield to God’s plans we aren’t worried. We may feel stress and pressures of life, but we know God’s got us and all is alright. Then, in His perfect time the right doors open and the wrong ones shut. It’s so important to have your mind right. Be at Peace with God’s plans and allowances. Take your thoughts captive and call them into obedience to Christ. You will never have to repent for obedience. Search your heart and ask God to expose and extinguish any thinking that is false. A clear sharp mind that is strong-hold free. This all by itself is one of life’s greatest victories.

Do these things and watch yourself step Valiantly into your Destiny.

The Banner over you is Love and the Lord has covered all of your being in His. There will be no portion of you left out. He has you completely covered. ~Nicole

I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage.”

Heart of a Champion

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:37 am by Broken & Brave

To Champion a heart is not about how we feel, but it is always about how we plan to make others feel.

I think that’s pretty awesome!

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

Bathe your heart in thanksgiving and perfume your soul with Hope. It will give off the most pleasing aroma that makes the world want to know!

People all around us are desperate for Hope and desire freedom from depression or sadness of heart. They long for True Peace, but far to many are eluded by it.  Pay attention and see who God has maybe sent you to encourage! You may just possess just the right amount of blessing that adds flavor to the lives of others like a tantalizing dressing to the fruits of the spirit in this life!

Rise up and count yourself blessed!

God will give Himself no rest until He sees you through all that puts your heart, mind and soul to do. He sees the stellar Champion within you.

There is no greater Champion Builder than God Himself! He is with you, encouraging you as you go.

So rise up, Champion, and take this day! …

Its yours!

Bold Love

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 6:47 am by Broken & Brave

Boldness comes from God.

“…and for me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mysteries of the gospel…that I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Eph. 6:19

When I was a young girl I loved being tucked in at night by my Father. My Mother usually took care of this, but I have young memeories of asking for him to come when she was done so he could tuck me in. He would come and make tiny little tucks in the covers completely hemming me in. I’d be on my back and the covers would wrap underneath my body holding me like a mummy. I was delighted! I remember trying not to move because I didn’t want to undo the tucks that had been made. I found security and comfort in this form of love expressed by my Dad.

All of humanity seeks comfort. It doesn’t matter what theology you believe or what you believe regarding the universe. We all seek comfort and long to feed our soul.

All desire comfort.

We enjoy comfortable clothing, shoes, houses full of comfortability. Our dream car provides a comfortable ride as we sit comfortably inside. On a hot summer day we look for the comfort that an air conditioned building can bring. If we don’t have any of these comforts, we desire them.

How do you comfort your soul?

All have an innate desire to feed and nourish our soul. Some nourish it with religious activities. Some meditate, some feed it with various forms of witchcraft. For others it is a simple faith in a Divine Intelligence. For many, it is the god of self.

There is a Divine Intellect who spoke all of creation into existence. His mere breath provides Light and Life, comfort and rest on our priveledged planet that sits perfect within our solar system for optimal Light and temperature to sustain us and give us comfort. No other planet has the same benefit as Earth.

This same Sovereign Benefactor provides Love. If you’ve experienced it you know what I mean. When you step into His Love it’s like a perfect fit. Nothing else you’ve ever tried could or has felt so complete. Tiny tucks of heart securing you in your place. What will you do to love Him back?

How can you share such a love with the world around you? Nothing has the power to protect, to heal, to restore, to even create like the Power we generate when we yield to love. It will give you boldness as it stirs you and completes you. It will give you courage. It will move you into uncharted territory where you have dreamed of going, but maybe have lacked the fortitude or opportunity to act upon your dreams. This love produces a kind of flow inside that radiates and makes you feel alive.

What will you do for love?

Step out in faith. Security is not found in your comfortability.

Security is found in Love.

Love Strong.

Love Bold.

Love Up…

~Nicole
