Sheer Hope is always willing to reach out and inspire us with anticipation.

Here’s what I know…
Everything we read…Everything we consume with our eyes, our senses, taste, touch, smell… All of it penetrates and influences your spirit on some level. So if I can post something positive for your eyes to glide over during your day, it may make a small or significant difference for you. It may infuse a spark in your heart that will work as a catalyst to help your day, your dreams, your aspirations, your tasks. May your joy combust into a flame that stirs you to believe in something of immeasurable worth yet to come.

Continue to dream.

Breathe in your moments deeply.

Savor everything, for it has something good to be found within.

Suit Up

Are you working toward your potential?

“Soldiers don’t get tied up with the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.” 2 Timothy 2:4

IMG_0836
Your DNA, the very essence of all things you had been hard wired before another soul on the planet knew you-including you. But God knew you. He knit you together in the secret place and positioned you in a woman’s womb and blessed her with the honor of being your mother.

What an honor motherhood and gestation really is. I remember being pregnant and watching my belly roll like waves of the sea as a little one tossed and turned beneath the surface loaded with potential. The inquisitive thoughts flood the mind, “Who is in there? What do they look like? How will their personality be?” Then I began doing things this way…I began speaking prophetically to my belly. I spoke destiny over my child. I spoke possibility. I declared all that could be possible for them and I invited the Lord into this prayer and asked him to join me and lead me in my prayers.

It’s been fun watching my children grow and to see many of the dreams, visions and prayers the Lord gave me for them unfold and become reality. I’m observing three of my children reach mile stone break through’s in their physical, spiritual and intellectual development right now and it’s wonderful. There is nothing that blesses more than for a parent to see their children succeed and hopefully supersede anything they could ever dream of accomplishing. At least, that’s how I feel. Just the other day I was speaking with my Dad on the phone and he told me, “Nicole, with everything you’ve been through (for the last several decades have been rough), God sure has blessed your children.”

I couldn’t agree more…But this too, was the prophesy of God unfolding. The Lord made a promise to me when I “signed up” or was enlisted into his army of stealthy soldiers. He spoke to the quiet recesses of my soul… “No matter what I ask you to walk through, I promise to bless you, but nothing will exceed what I do for your children.” Legacy. I see Him fulfilling his vow to me all the time. It makes all the obedience worth it.

What about you? Do you have promises of God still tucked in your heart that maybe should be pulled out and dusted off? Did you get side tracked somewhere along the way? How about your kids?

Do not fret or worry if they are not doing ok. God has got great plans for them. It’s never too late to choose the right path, surrender your will, your life, to the One and only Love that shines enormously bright. You are Radiant beyond description. God has locked so much worth inside of you. This is why life has tried to stomp it out and make you forget the brilliance embedded within.

Sparkle is what you were made for. Greatness is what you were designed for.
Wholeness, worth, longevity and strength–all the things God fortified in you just like a well balanced meal.

Feed your soul the right things. Feast on the promises of God. Don’t let the gospel of Christ slip through your head without affecting your heart.

Step out stoically into your Divine Inheritance and believe for miracles in the lives of your children. There is a revival brewing in you and it is good to anticipate what God can and is willing to do.

Suit up soldier. Remain faithful to the light that has been given you. Conquer sin. Vanquish deleterious mindsets. Overcome. Overcome. You shall overcome. All the while never ever forgetting to have fun. Life is Beautiful. God wants to see you enjoy yourself in it. ~Nicole

Arise!

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:45 am by Broken & Brave

Warrior with a weapon and woman with the Word.

Deborah was the only female Judge in the Old Testament. Talk about a progressive female! But Deborah wasn’t interested in advancing her own cause or interests. Deborah was purely interested in advancing the Kingdom of God. She was a woman with a strong Prophetic gift and she was a wife. But Deborah refers to herself in Judges as Mother to Israel. Deborah was known as a woman who sat under the shade of a tree and people came to her for her wisdom which had extended into the city.

Part of Deborah’s ability came from her inner strength and calm leadership style. These character attributes were purely the result of her ability to hear God’s Voice with clarity. We, too, can achieve her kind of bravery and resilience when we place full confidence and trust in the Lord. There truly is none other like him!

God used Deborah to bring that clarity to the heart of the king which gave him a banner of hope in a time of war. Her ability to hear God’s voice cut through the noise, the chaos, the whimpers and complaints, the doubts, fears and confusion. The king was better able to do what he needed to because of her peace and clarity.

Here are a few attributes of this Biblical woman of worth we can aspire to:

•Prophetic Anointing (Judges 4:4)
•She had a Mother’s heart coupled with the strength and fortitude of a soldier. (Judges 4:9)
•Deborah’s gift made room for her and so will yours. (Proverbs 18:6)
•Deborah had a leadership edge-ears to hear the Voice of God and the courage to act upon it.

A Prophetic Voice + Discerning Mind equivocates a Courageous Heart💗

This is the Call of the Deborah Anointing! May we rise up, ladies, for God’s Honor and Glory!

Let the Deborah’s Arise!

Risky Heart

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:47 am by Broken & Brave

“You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.”
~William Faulkner

Yesterday was a day of Celebration! My son was accepted to his college of choice. Looks like we have another Tiger in the family. My oldest, and only daughter, is graduating from college in May (she did it in four years!!) and my oldest son will take her place and represent well for our family on that particular college campus.

I was thinking a lot about risk taking this past week. Over the years God has really stretched me, asked me and even declared my obedience to be one of a risky nature. He’s taken me to some extremes, and even asked of me bold and daring things when my circumstances and life were their most lean. But in it, I saw Him dial in my heavenly support line and deliver the answer right on time.

I guess my kids have grown learning and observing this kind of faith, and for that I am grateful. See, at the time I was doing the ridiculous, despite what peers and even my own family thought, something more important was happening even above and beyond my own faith growth. My kids were learning to watch Mom and Dad and listen to our unwavering belief and then they could see the miracle! Risky faith trust is their norm. What stretched me, is the normal comfort zone for my children. I love that!

So when my son was applying for colleges we asked, “Where do you want to apply?” He had one answer and one answer only. He didn’t want to go anywhere else. He only wanted to apply once. All in. Plan A all the way and no Plan B until it were of absolute necessity. I told him if that’s what burned on his heart then God would make the way and though we didn’t know how it would turn out we knew God’s will for my son’s life would prevail. He took a calculated risk and it paid off!

Isn’t it the same with God? He sent his son to take a calculated and risky step of faith to overcome all of death, Hell and the grave. He took on your shame and allowed it to be nailed to his frame. All in the name of love. He was fully aware that not everyone would love him back or even believe in what he did…but he did it anyway that you might live.

Risky Faith is the only kind of faith there is. God is still glad he took risks for you today.

On Time & Faithful💗

Posted in Inspirational, true story, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , at 7:45 am by Broken & Brave

God was Faithful to divide the Red Sea for Moses to make his escape safely. God was Faithful to roll away the cap stone and become the Corner Stone for all of humanity. He was Faithful to touch the night sky and make it bright with sparkling light. He told the sun where to hang in space and commanded the tides, “Don’t go beyond this place.”

If there is anything I know from my own life experience is that we can trust God’s TIMING. I have witnessed him part the way and create many miracle for myself and my family because we stepped in faith, trusted, obeyed and he parted the way. He can make every crooked place straight. He can open every gate.

I told a dear friend yesterday, who knows everything about me, that I felt I had the most peculiar testimony. Then I heard that friend tell me that I did in fact have a very unique testimony, but it was all my life experiences that have fueled my ability to write.

I couldn’t agree more.

Life experiences are the rich and fertile soil that weave our hearts with the tenderness of heaven if we allow it. The good, the bad, give thanks for it all. God shows his Faithfulness through it all.

I was thinking of my Dad earlier. I took him with me on an outing to an open house for a community outreach in my city yesterday. I thought he would enjoy it. There were old restored cars on display in the parking lot. My Dad wanted to look at them. He peeked inside, outside and under the hood. One car was a low rider-please don’t ask me what kind of car it was, I’m no good with car knowledge- but my Dad knew and he engaged the owner in a conversation and shared stories of his cars of his youth. Instant bond. My Dad had experiences in youth I never had. He grew up in a rough part of his Southern California home town. “The other side of the tracks”, I guess. He had little adult supervision and two brothers. They have a lot of stories. I thank God for his life experiences-so different from how he raised me though. It brought my heart joy to know how God had transformed his life as a young adult man and he took me to the House of God and we all learned, for the first time, about Jesus together. God’s timing was perfect, once again. I can maybe only imagine the childhood I might of had if God hadn’t touched my Dad’s heart and life when he did.
I love my Dad…grateful for him.

I know that I know He is a miracle working God. He is Master Protecter, Provider and Friend. Trust his timing in every moment. Whether you’re expected to be in five places as once (which was me yesterday) or standing near a loved ones sick bed or working toward a goal that seems to go slower than slow. He’s got this! ~Nicole

Ablaze

“He makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.”
Psalm 104:4

You can never observe the supernatural with natural eyes and understand what you see.

It won’t look right.

it won’t look right because we’ve not seen it before. It won’t fit into any category of our mind’s frame, our common sense or main stream opinion. It will have a flavor uniquely all its own. It will set ablaze every heart in its path…

Ablaze with true grace, liberty and freedom of soul.

A Fire woken up inside of the hearts it touches, a soul at rest yet never again will it sleep.

His Fire never sleeps and it guards fiercely those He intends to keep…

…in Perfect Peace.

Do not shy away from His Fire. Though it may heat you through, it will never burn you. There will be no smell of smoke upon you. But rather a Glorious Aroma will rise from within you.

Blessings…Nicole

Invested

The truest generosity, frequently, has little to do with financial wealth.

Sometimes the greatest blessings don’t come out of a place of prosperity. Do not discount yourself from being a tremendous blessing in the life of another. Some of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known, most generous people I have every known, were not wealthy. They understand that when a well is pumped, it doesn’t run dry…it replenishes. Those who are faithful with what they have, receive more…until there is abundance. So, don’t be discouraged! Give generously of yourself!

Sometimes a smile, a note or a friendly hello is all another needs to flow into their potential.
Get invested! ~Nicole

She Slays

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:30 am by Broken & Brave

“Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongues is the law of kindness…”
Proverbs 31:25-26

Let’s face it, the Proverbs 31 woman slays. She reminds me of a Spartan woman. She is focused like a race horse, her blinders keep her on task and she is not easily derailed by the peripheral view. She knows what lie over the horizon and does not easily perplex herself with pettiness or idleness. She knows who she is and she has full confidence in her King. After all, He made her, He equipped her and He wired her with His Love, Care and Ability.

She is secure.
She is gentle.
She has stamina and endurance.
She has a WE CAN attitude because she is a team player.

Ladies, we are capable of all of these things. The Proverbs 31 woman is not a lofty dream. Our men should see it in us as we demonstrate it. Our abilities EMPOWER them to be more than Conquerers.

YOU are the Key. You can do it and do it marvelously! Christ gave you his Champion Playbook! ~Nicole

A Home for your Heart

Posted in Inspirational, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , at 5:16 pm by Broken & Brave

“Come Home”. Don’t let the cares of this world draw you aside from the Presence of God. He possesses an infinite amount of comfort, care and every thing you need in this life. Draw back in His heart, rest in His Word and settle yourself through prayer. He is waiting for you there…so come home. Allow God’s heart to be your home. New or old, it is as precious as gold.

Imagine being gone on a trip or somewhere far from home. You miss your comforts and familiarities and you even miss sleeping in your own bed. When you arrive there are your loved ones, those with whom you do life. This is how it is when we rest in the Lord. It feels like a homecoming. ~Nicole

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Dig Deep

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:16 am by Broken & Brave

IMG_2012
Every new level will require you to get out your shovel. You’ve got to dig deep. It may require you lose some sleep. It may require you resolve and understand that to have more later you must give up some things right now. You have to keep your mind focused and body disciplined.
Training for some natural bodybuilding competitions and I am reminded of the recent passing away of a friend. After my very first show, I knew little of how to properly pose. I knew less about how people would react to my desire to persist. My friend, an experienced posing coach and bodybuilder told me the most encouraging thing and it inspires me still today…He said, many people train to compete. Many people talk about doing a show. Many set the goal. But those who put their toes on the “X” are no nonsense. Sometimes the greatest accomplishment is found in the “Do”.

How about you? Time to go to the #nextlevel no matter what you aspire to do. Get out your shovel, dig deep and surprise yourself with the extraordinary potential you’ve got locked down deep! –Nicole
