Not Your Average Cup of Jo

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:40 am by Broken & Brave

This morning I did something I do every morning…I drink a Spark from AdvoCare. It’s my morning come alive kind of thing that gets me moving and wanting to sing. All kinds of good nutrition and things that make your brain wake up. I enjoy an occasional cup of coffee, but Spark is about purpose. I guess I have my favorite flavor and drink that one almost everyday. But this morning something changed…it didn’t taste the same.
Something seemed different? I couldn’t quite put my finger on it so I took it back to the kitchen and added some water to it. Maybe it was too concentrated? It seemed tangier or stronger somehow? No, that wasn’t it.

I decided just to not try to figure it out and drink it down. As I continued to sip I realized what was different! I had grabbed the wrong canister by mistake. I thought I was making fruit punch, but must have grabbed the grape!

Sometimes in life things happen that take us by surprise. We expect one thing, but get something else instead. It may or may not be bad, just different.

But God knows you inside and out. He knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end. It occupies the same sliver of time for Him. He sees it concentrated just as I perceived my drink to be. For the span of His hand is greater than the existence of all of humanity. He is eternal. I think you can agree.

So join me on a journey of trusting God and His faithfulness more completely. Sometimes He changes things up. He may lead us down one road knowing full well the destination He truly has for us is another side path He hasn’t told us about yet. But He needs us to begin. So don’t get confused when things shift and bit and aren’t what you expected. Keep drinking Him in. Enjoy the experience even if it isn’t your first choice. Don’t try to figure it all out. God has a way of growing things, situations and people on our soul. He’s always got the right formula for you.

Drink deep of his presence. Make Him your morning routine. He is guaranteed to Spark your heart -mind- soul and make you come alive with purpose. He’s not your ordinary cup of tea. He’s something much more complete. Drink deeply…

Enjoy the Journey…

You are the potter I am the clay…
Mold me and make me—
Have your own way.

The above are the lyrics to a song I remember singing in church growing up. What beautiful, surrendered and submitted truth they hold.

When we know who we belong to and how extraordinary everything he does is then we can get excited about the shaping process. We know he is up to something good!

So go ahead…sculpt your beautiful self!

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Romans 12:2

Hello there.

What an excellent day.
I hear it was Heaven made.

But what exactly does that mean to you?

For me…this is what it means. A Heaven made day means something different to everyone, but here’s a glimpse into my heart and what stirs me deeply.

I love the free expression my heart yields in His Presence. It is frequently found in my pen, but when I speak it is found there as well.

He brings out the best in me.

What brings out the best in you?

I am fully aware that I am fully Lover. I care deeply. Feel deeply. Experience richly and want the Source of it all to penetrate my heart in all—the big and the small. I want God to be a part of it all. I am fully invested. Because I am also fully resolute and stoic. Kind of an unusual mix. I’ve learned to embrace it.

How about you?

What stirs you?

Not what brings you success. Not what keeps trials at bay. Not what appeases others. What STIRS you? If you’re not stirred then it’s all for no good. Wouldn’t you agree?

I don’t want to just live, breathe, experience. I mean—I want all of those things. But what I really want is to be moved.

What moves you?
What inspires you?
What causes you to step up and out and find your real finesse?

Finesse. Everybody wants it. Everyone is drawn to it…but truth be told…not everyone has it.
It’s sort of one of those things you can’t duplicate. You have it, or you don’t.

But true finesse is MAGNETIC.

So what draws you?

I pray this day Heaven would draw you and penetrate your soul and increase the luster and shine on all that you do. I have a feeling there’s something magnificent still asleep within you, despite all the finesse that already seeps through.

Heaven is waiting…
It wants to experience your deepest finesse, too.

Can’t wait to see—
You were born for more.

This day, BE INSPIRED!

Life is a delicate balancing act. You’ve got fortitude and strength. You have power to hold it together. Though gravity and outside forces pull against you and try to force you down, out and in directions contrary to the Destination designed for you- you shall not break. You may bend, and bending is good for it demonstrates a spirit of unity toward all that is good…

You will not break.

Dig Deep, Beloved…for loved deeply is who you are.

Live a life made Complete and shine brighter than the stars.

Iron sharpens iron…

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17

Don’t quit. Don’t give up. Do not lose heart. God gave you a big heart and it is full of purpose. Your Reason is what carries you through every season. So instead of shrinking back or slowing down…RISE to the occasion. Tenacity, Strength and Fervor are available. Watch and see as God carries you by His Faith through this entire week. Extraordinary things in the pipeline for you!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3:5-6

Success Is A Journey

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , at 5:57 am by Broken & Brave

You are Extraordinary.
There isn’t another like you.
Heaven has never created another like you.
The saying goes “they broke the mold”…
And it’s true. Heaven was so smitten when it founded the Heavens and stars and had you in mind that when it came your time the delight of those stars couldn’t be counted. God, the Father, became a proud Papa the day you were but the twinkle in His eye. Even prouder the day you were born.

Do you believe it?
Can your heart receive it?
You are favored.
You are loved.
You have extraordinary gifts and talents the world around needs.
They don’t just need it, they crave it. Their are souls counting on you to fulfill your God given purpose and destiny on this planet.

What holds you back?

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit? (What an excellent sermon my church offered on this subject last Sunday—at the end the presence of the Holy Spirit was thick in the air. I could discern His Powerful Presence on my fingertips. It was Gorgeous. Here’s the link if you would like to watch it.)

Every area of lack, He goes in and himself fills those voids or cracks and sustains supernatural your ability to go, do, achieve all He designed and blessed you to conceive in your heart and mind.

You are a success.

Any ounce of failure was a blessing because it seasoned your soul with wisdom and determination and a foundation to build something even better.

So don’t let the storms of life keep you under the weather. The barometer of Heaven measures on a different scale. You are a Breath-taking, heart swelling, creative miracle of heaven here by Design. You can do anything. Just believe and put the Almighty in the lead, intercede and watch His miracles unfold.

You, my friend, are carved from pure gold. An absolute diamond are you!

Be delighted in your day just as Heaven surely and completely delights in you.

Have a Blessed and Encouraged Day!

It Takes Strength

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:40 am by Broken & Brave

It takes a strong and secure man to lead. It takes a strong and secure woman to let him…

Several years ago God dropped this rocket in my heart, an analogy of why wives need to submit to their husbands leadership, that is so good and so true though a delicate subject.

If a person tends to see God as they see their earthly father, then a woman’s ability to submit and respect her husband is a reflection of how she submits and respects The Lord. Wow. Let’s all chew on that a while.

Something gorgeous happens in a mans heart when his love trusts him enough to respect his lead. God honors it, even if you don’t agree.

Submission is not being subservient. Submission is simply giving honor, respect and servant leadership.

I’ve counseled wives for years, when they weren’t in support of their husbands choice, to follow his lead anyway and continue to pray. God will honor the wife’s submission, hear her prayer and either change her heart to align with her spouse or he will change the husbands mind to line up in kind. I’ve seen the fruit of this is many couples lives. Submission is not weakness. It is a glorious form of inner strength. Be strong.

Let love have its way and overtake what your mind or will have to say. When love walks in everybody wins. Remember this day, Christ loves you the same way He is asking you to love Him. No matter what, He loves you anyway. How beautiful…

“The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.” Prov. 21:11-12

Road To Radiance

I know many people going through trials they cannot fathom. I pray this encourage you today.

“Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” Proverb

“Open the eyes of my heart Lord.”
To see, to hear, to learn and grow. There’s love in discipline.

Beautiful is a heart that accepts reproof. When we realize sometimes we struggle not because we are being punished, but rather we are being loved.

There is beauty in forgiveness, humility, meekness, gentleness and all the fruit of the spirit.

God is not mad at you or punishing you.
He is skillfully loving you into the creation He destined you to be.
You may suffer but it is only temporary.

Cling to Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of the three is Love and it hung on a tree for you and for me. ~Nicole💗

Sweet Dreams

Encouragement for your day:

You don’t read a song, you sing it.
You don’t play and instrument, you touch it. Your heart and passion does the playing.

You don’t dream a dream,
you live it…

May the Arms of Abba Father keep you in a warm tight embrace that forces the sweetest smile to linger upon your face and you wake refreshed as you’ve never been before. His Peace be with you, upon you, and radiate from within you so others will feel His breath of freshness upon them too. Amen. Sweet Dreams.

Here’s to sweet dreaming today.
May these dreams hold you in a sweet embrace as your life graced a smile on Heaven’s Face.

You are built to overcome.

Unreserved Devotion

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:25 am by Broken & Brave

Unreserved Devotion—

Have you ever done something or gone somewhere that required you make arrangements long in advance? Maybe you went on a trip or dined in a fine restaurant? Perhaps you went somewhere that was a famous location and had to wait for your turn to get a glimpse of what made the place so special? You get the idea. You put your name in, so to speak.

You had to have a reservation.

I remember very early in my marriage my husband bought me tickets to go to San Francisco and watch the musical Phantom of the Opera. The tickets were a Christmas gift, but the tickets were for a showing spring of the following year. He had to purchase the tickets more than six months in advance to get the quality seating he desired. They were such good seats! You could see the orchestra pit and the sweat fly off of the actors on the stage. We were so close! (But not too close. Perfect seats) I loved that trip.

I’m not completely sure where I am going with this other than I woke this evening from a sound sleep and heard the words,

I immediately thought of my Heavenly Father and how He feels about me. He never holds back. We are the ones who fail to truly let him in. The more I have gotten acquainted with my Maker over the years the more I have come to know His heart more intimately with mine. It can be scary to allow people into our heart. I find most people actually don’t do that very well—myself included. But when we let God in He covers our heart chamber with His protective care and we suddenly become aware that we are in a safe place. He really does care and it is special and unique and we can feel it—down deep.

Do you struggle to “feel”? Is it difficult to let people into your life, your heart, your world? Do you appreciate people, but find you don’t miss them all that much when you are not with them? Even the people you feel you should miss? You may even have varying degrees of this experience with different seasons or people. If this describes you, then this word is for you.

There is nothing wrong with you.

You know how science has shown that we have a mind capable of so much yet most people only use a few perfect of its capability? The same is true for human emotional intellect. Your emotional quotient is a type of intelligence. Some have a higher EQ than others, just like an IQ. Again, nothing wrong with that. But here is what I know. People who have a high EQ I think are subject to fitting into the category of questions I listed above. Because they naturally feel and experience the power of love and human emotion more deeply, from birth, they are the most vulnerable to damage. If the young life doesn’t receive enough of what it needs the EQ becomes buried so to speak. Now, I can’t prove any of this scientifically. I am taking bits of my education in human cognition and development and combining it with what I know of God’s Love and my own experience. I’ve also seen it in others. Because we feel deep we learn at a young age to protect our heart. It’s like we overprotect it (and maybe that’s what was necessary by our environment or experience) and in the process we become emotionally numb. It becomes harder to feel and experience deep love or connection.

But the tender finger of God works like a shoot and burrows a root and grows in the hearts chamber. It may be scary, but we begin to experience and feel and sometimes this is very painful, but it is also a necessary component to the process of inner healing. Emotional health is such a vital part of overall health.

Here is what I am sure of. No matter if I am describing you, someone close to you or you have no clue what I am talking about…God is love. His love is whole and complete and designed to swallow up every ounce of your pain. Every painful memory. Painful experience. Painful circumstance. He hung himself with unreserved devotion to a Cross. He nailed it there—all your misery, hurt, fear, regret, sadness. All of it. Whatever plagues your heart and soul and keeps you from experiencing more. He took it. We must simply let go of our hold. We simply must learn to let go and instead of holding back we must hold on to the one who loved so big He endured it all.

God is love.
He loves you.
He loves you.
He loves you.
He loves you big.
He loves you strong.
He loves you all day and all night long.
He loves you through the shadowy seasons of soul and he loves you when your life is going all right—brilliant with sunshine.

He loves you.

Don’t hold back. Release. Once you have let him in you will realize what an enormously faithful friend you have in Jesus.

“I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.”
Psalm 63:2-3

“Lord. We come to you with unreserved devotion. Forgive us for our reserve. Forgive us for holding back, even when we don’t know we are doing it. Come in. Enter my heart more deeply. I want to know you more. I desire deeper encounters with the Holy Spirit. I am not afraid. I do not want to be afraid because where your love is, all fear is cast out. So enter in. Today’s the day I want to know your heart more deeply. No more veils. Like a Bride on her wedding day, pull back the drapes that conceal our face. Kiss our life with your goodness, full and bright with Light. Illuminate as only you can do—the areas of our heart we have been protecting from you. Amen.”

I am praying that this word impact your heart in a Tender and loving way. God sees your big heart…it matches His.
It’s time to go to the Next Level in your personal relationship with Him!

I hear God’s arms are strong—
they are also strong enough to lift your load and long enough to fulfill your task.

You are never out of reach.
He is only a heartbeat away.

“The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength” Psa. 93:1

When my youngest was in the preschool years—most mornings I would drop the family at school and then my youngest would stays with me and we go to the track and run some sprints before my morning clients. This story is about such a day about two years ago.

We began our morning with him coaching me along as I ran. He’d usually call something out like, “Is that as fast as you can go?” What can I say, the kids got wit. Later in the day, around noon, the two of us returned to my husband’s office which is adjacent to the track I’ve been using. My son looks toward the sky then replies, “The sun doesn’t look like that when we run sprints.” I smiled inwardly at the complexity of his observation in relation to his age. I proceeded to talk to him of our solar system, the earth, it’s rotation and how we get the calendar year, the seasons and the days and why the sun doesn’t appear to sit in the exact same place. He listens as I explained the excellence and Constance of God’s Provision of Nature.

The same ingenuity God used to sculpt and hang the sun and how the earth is spun is the same ingenuity He used when He sculpt and design you. He IS constant and is there for you…constantly. You never need worry for it for it is there with you always. Just as extraordinary as the knowledge of knowing the sun will again rise after each night it says goodnight- you can trust His faithfulness to complete every good work he has begun in you and it is sure to sparkle, shine and dazzle bright.

Be extraordinary because you are hand crafted from the extraordinary to live an Abundant life in Christ.

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.”
Proverbs 31:25
