Power of Your Path

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , at 12:59 pm by Broken & Brave

“Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives–especially the ability to prophesy.” 1 Cor. 14:1
I’ve been writing the last few days on the theme of prophesy and what it means to decision make and act on future not circumstances. Walking out God’s prophetic anointing on your life will require some grit and maybe just maybe more than just a little bit of it. But is it truly risky to trust God and follow His lead?
A number of years ago I had a woman tell me I had a lot of faith. But that’s not where her sentence ended. She proceeded  to add a “but”…”But I don’t want that kind of faith because then I’d have to act on it.”

I guess this is the Beauty of God. We can have as much or as little of Him as we desire. He is a Gentleman. But His purposes prevail. When He has a call or plan He will shape and shift your circumstances to cause you to yield. I personally think it takes more faith to NOT trust God and follows his lead. That is the greater risk because you May be acting outside His blessing without even knowing it. No thank you. Though following God may lead down paths you would have never treaded on your own—you eventually discover those paths are carved in gold and you find a joy inside has grown you’ve never before known. When God ties your heart to something nothing can break it and you can’t shake it.

Does it all sound a bit odd to you? Really?
Just look at the life of Noah. His story is found in the Bible Book of Genesis.
God spoke it.
He believed it.
It conceived something great in his heart and soul.
He began to do what was required to make the dream a reality.
I imagine he was asked thousands of times what he was doing.
What did he say?
Every time he spoke of it he was casting vision for the people.
No one saw his vision or received it…until the rain came.
There are countless examples of modern day people who lived a life full of success that was birthed out of deep duress. They believed in the dream and pursued it with their everything. They told others what they saw for their future, they prophesied giving life to the vision, where they were going…they knew with all their heart it was a future worth knowing.
Your future is inside of you. It is up to you to hone your focus. Be decided. Get Intentional. Purpose your choices. Take action steps…and have a nearly blind ambition to achieve what you were placed on this planet to do. YOU are a Planet Shaker and the Kingdom of Heaven just may be counting on you. You’ve got tremendous Legacy within you.
                   You are Prophetic!
“By faith Noah, having been divinely instructed concerning the things not yet seen, having been moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.”
Hebrews 11:7

Power Gifts at Your Fingertips

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 6:28 am by Broken & Brave

You Have Power!
Sometimes you just don’t know it…

Every human has a spirit that dwells in the soulish region of our body. The soul is the heart of who you are. Every person longs to fill it. Each man or woman, boy or girl, may fill it differently. God gives gifts to all mankind, whether it’s acknowledged or not.

You have a priestly anointing and a prophetic anointing. Most dwell in the priestly anointing. For example, you go to church, you read the Word, you pray and practice your faith. Priestly anointing. But then there is the prophetic anointing! Most neglect this anointing because they don’t understand it. Because they don’t understand it, they reject it. People always reject what they fear.

The prophetic anointing surrenders the heart to reach beyond circumstance, physical facts and acts according to what the future holds. Your prophetic anointing helps shape your future. You speak what you want to see and take actions steps in belief that it will happen. You trust God with timing and circumstances, but you do not shrink back or waiver in your belief. You stay plugged into it. God is the Power Source that fuels the ambition and changes the conditions to create the opportunity for it all to fall into the right place no matter how tight the space. This kind of atmosphere is where Creative Miracles begin to exist…Signs and Wonders appear…and people from miles around begin to draw near.

God loves the prophetic because that’s where the “magic” is.

“Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives–especially the ability to prophesy.” 1 Cor. 14:1

He is the deepest Lover of your Soul and he believes you are made of pure gold.

May this year, be a golden year.

Gold is costly.
Gold is lustrous and exclusive.
It is not readily available to everybody.
Gold is hard like a rock, yet able to become fluid and easy to handle when it is melted.
Gold has worth of glorious measure.

Arise from your golden slumber and enter the very chambers of God.
His plans are always the right plans.

“How gracious he will be when you cry for help. As soon as he hears, he will answer you.” Isaiah 30:19

Sunshine & Roses🌹

Posted in Inspirational tagged , , , at 7:31 pm by Broken & Brave

“As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.” Ben Hogan
I am a gardener… Gardener In my yard and a Gardener of the heart.
I weed.
I prune—
and new life will come.
I clip and trim—
yielding beauty and shape.
I turn the soil for the air to penetrate— down deep and the sunlight to nourish.
I water and I encourage—
Because I garden, when God wants to captivate my attention and my heart He frequently turns my eye to the garden.
I recall all a time a while back…
as I came in I noticed that on a particular rose bush I have three new buds blossoming (it’s January). See, my God is a hopeless romantic (not just for me, but for all his kids). He knows the pathway to my heart. He knows my language. I guarantee He knows your language, too.
I cast my eye upon those roses and I knew, He is besotted for my heart. He knows how to melt my heart. He knows it’s easy to shape a mold a melted heart. So He melts me, and I yield.
He is a God that is faithful and He keeps His promises.

The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

Psalm 145:13

I recall all a time early in my “pruning season”. I was a young Mom. The Lord kept piercing my heart, turning the soul, watering my garden with the scripture above. Then, a friend came to my home and spontaneously offered me a gift. She shared that the Lord had placed it on her heart to bring this to me—then she presented me with a Thomas Kinkade portrait with the words of this very verse etched on a gold plaque at the foot of the frame. Heart…Touched…you have no idea.
He loves you.
You need to know—
He loves you.
Though He may be plucking and pruning and preparing you, exposing the nerve of each weed that needs to go, He is besotted with you. He is only creating room to grow so you will be a well fertilized, cultivated and prepared Garden. When God makes a Promise He desires we prepare and be ready for the blessing. He wants us to have the capacity to contain and enjoy the blessing. An unprepared Garden passes by and only shines for a limited time. Let that not be you. Don’t allow the blessing to be too much for you. Be ready.
The Lord intends to overcome you with Goodness.

Prophets Arise!☀️

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , at 8:41 am by Broken & Brave

“Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.”

1 Cor. 1:4 (esv)

I love this scripture. It pretty much sums up the Law of Love. Love is the essence of all things Glorious. Love is formed from the womb of Heaven and used to emulate His Love.

The Prophetic Anointing is a Break Through Anointing.

Love came down.

Love bent His Crown.

Love stooped.

And loved scooped us up and cradled us within His Heart Chamber to bring rest to humanity.

Have you ever been around someone who carried such a level of Peace you felt peaceful in their presence? How about Grace? Do we measure out such an outpouring and overflowing of God’s Grace others can feel it drip from us?

Though the Old Testament offers a real showcase of impressive prophets, my favorite Old Testament Prophet was Deborah (Read about her in The Book of Judges).

She assured the King of Victory, but went to war with him. Warrior with his weapon and woman with the Word!

To have the Overflow of the Holy Spirit is to walk, live, breath and Love this way. It causes a Gentle disposition that works like fabric softener on the heart.

So what if this verse? Why should we desire to prophesy?

Prophesy is a spiritual gift that carries much responsibility. All of the gifts bear responsibility, none less important than another for by them we collectively become God’s All Star Team. I desire to honor all. But prophesy comes with the responsibility to have thick skin. To have courage. To have tight lips. Every knows loose lips sink ships.

“Set a guard over my mouth, LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 41:3

The prophetic voice is a voice the Lord trusts with His Secrets. Prophesy can be used to specifically pray for other and to pray down assignments of the enemy of God. Intercessors frequently walk in the prophetic as they call down God’s Plans from Heaven. But the prophetic voice comes with much scorn. The Bible is clear that the prophet is persecuted. (Matthew 5:11)

Often times a prophet is labeled today’s villain and turns out to be tomorrow hero. The Bible says to judge prophesy for those will come who are false prophets. So the pure prophetic voice knows they must stick with the future, but endure today. It is a glorious gift, but also a difficult gift. But you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

“Love should be your guide. Be eager to have the gifts that come from the Holy Spirit, especially the gift of prophecy.” 1 Cor. 14:1 (cev)

Many years ago the Lord penetrated my heart with the above scripture. He then attached a Word to it. It was a Word so simple I don’t even remember it—I only recall the verse. I was told to deliver the message to a specific individual. I knew who the person was, but I did not personally know the person so it was outside of my comfort zone. But I did it anyway as instructed from the Lord. The person just paused and looked at me for what seemed to be a whole lot of empty space—then they replied, “That scripture was the anchor verse of my morning quiet time.”

I had another occasion I could hear the Holy Spirit repeatedly tell me to go pray over a woman and then to blow my breath in her face. How awkward and weird does that sound? I really dug my heels a bit on that one, but I complied after much pressure of the Spirit. Don’t you know she began to cry and told me the most beautiful story and how my obedience encouraged her when she deeply needed it for she knew no one but the Holy Spirit would know why my blowing in her face would be confirmation.

On another occasion I was praying for a woman who just asked me to pray about a whole boat load of drama in her life. But when I began to pray the Spirit gave me a very specific prayer to pray about her heart and it had nothing to do with what she asked me to pray for. I felt so uncomfortable, but knew the Voice so I prayed and she said not a word about it…until about two weeks later she approached me and said, “How did you know I had a serious heart condition”? Then she proceeded to share about her doctors appointment and how everything I prayed came to pass.

And the stories go on and on…

Only God can take a timid, shy and meek child and birth a boldness like that. To God be the Glory. He selects the most unlikely candidates for victory.

So be encouraged.

You never know how God will use your obedience. How do you know if you have a prophetic gift? If you have it what do you do with it? What is it’s purpose?

Prophetic voices must be developed. They must be exercised or they struggle to grow. The prophetic mind must be guarded by the word of God at all times. Strict discipline to be in the Word AND communing with the Holy Spirit are imperative. This is a valuable gift for the Church to be used to exhort, to love, to encourage and to protect.

“the one who prophesies edifies the church” 1 Cor. 14:4

The Office of Prophet is like a Watchman of Compassion placed on a high wall to guard the Lord’s anointed and beloved. Prophetic voices are God’s Soldiers. They protect. They caution, but most of all they encourage.

“Give me what you command, and command what you will.”

~St. Augustine

Prophesy can cause people discomfort, even when the prophet is not prophesying. There is alway that little feeling they know something about you or “what do they know”? Not all feel this way about those with this gift, but it’s a common experience that must go with the territory so to speak.

Prophesy is like a looking glass where the Lord gives glimpses into the future. It is a beautiful gift and we live in a day and age when the prophets need to arise and exercise their gifts. These Watchmen(and women)  of Compassion have a tremendous mantle and God delights to see all of His kids encouraged, loved and protected.

Let the Prophets arise!

Life is a delicate balancing act. You’ve got fortitude and strength. You have power to hold it together. Though gravity and outside forces pull against you and try to force you down, out and in directions contrary to the Destination designed for you- you shall not break. You may bend, and bending is good for it demonstrates a spirit of unity toward all that is good…

You will not break.

Dig Deep, Beloved…for loved deeply is who you are.

Live a life made Complete and shine brighter than the stars.

Iron sharpens iron…

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17

Don’t quit. Don’t give up. Do not lose heart. God gave you a big heart and it is full of purpose. Your Reason is what carries you through every season. So instead of shrinking back or slowing down…RISE to the occasion. Tenacity, Strength and Fervor are available. Watch and see as God carries you by His Faith through this entire week. Extraordinary things in the pipeline for you!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.” Prov. 3:5-6

The Giver

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:25 am by Broken & Brave

He is a God of the Extraordinary and has always been willing to take extraordinary steps and measures for you. He carves your path, He writes the road map and He is patient, deliberate and purposeful in His decision to walk with you. You need only grab hold of His Hand. He alone can comfort, exhort and protect greater than anyone else in your life can. He’s got you!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Proverbs 3:6

Blaming others for your problem only perpetuates your pain (and your problem for that matter).

Look upward and INWARD to make changes that lead to healing. I believe the wisest of people are those who are willing to address their own heart and pray, “Search my heart oh God!”

Purity of heart is the only way to obtain the deepest of intimacy with the Lord. I don’t know about you, but entering His Court isn’t enough for me…

I want to be in the Holy of Holies. Absolute intimacy…Extraordinary.

This is what fuels my willingness to obey Truth. And when I think of the level of love He has poured out for us—I realize we have only scratched the surface of what abounds for us and He is willing to ignite within us.

God is such a Giver.

It is His absolute nature to Give. He takes delight in blessing and blessing and blessing. Hand over fist. He loves the look on your face when something wonderful happens to you and for you. Your smile and enthusiasm are contagious to Heaven’s Soul and make the Father want to bless you more.

But what of this blessing? What is it for? Don’t forget, Beloved. You are incredibly loved and Heaven delights to give to you. What will you do with the Gift? How will you use it? Will you regift it? Or will you cherish it and then share it again with others in your own unique way? What does your heart and soul long for?

I’ve been waking up every morning with a song in my head. I have done so for years. I believe it’s the Lords way of setting the tone for my day. I generally wake up happy with anticipation of what the Lord will share with me. When I have disturbing dreams or revelatory dreams about things I don’t want to know or don’t understand I struggle with it a bit more—but overall I wake up excited to spend time with my Love, my God.

The song I’ve risen with the past few weeks has been from the movie The Greatest Showman. I love this song. It’s beautiful. It’s like drinking liquid at the perfect temperature. It’s lyric soothe. It’s a love song.

What would happen if you took a few moments to listen and meditate on heaven and how you feel about your Intimacy with the Intimate One? I’ve included the link at the bottom.

Why do you do what you do? Is it for the blessing? The honor? The Glory? Or is it for His? I’ve been through so much hardship in my life—but I can honestly say, though I’ve had to give up much to go up with God,  I would continue to do so. I will give up whatever God requires to continue to hold His intimacy. Hearing God’s Voice and watching Him perform Signs and Wonders is breath taking.

Let Him wake up a dream is you.

May His Voice get louder and echo deep down in your soul.

Don’t look back…

My Snuggle Bug

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , at 7:27 am by Broken & Brave

Yesterday was my son, Andrew’s 8th Birthday. I love Andrew immensely. Andrew is significantly younger than his siblings. I endured all kinds of comments when I was pregnant and he was an infant. Yes, I know how these things happen. I was an older Mom when I had him.

Our entire family was going through the trial of our life. We were enduring the lawsuit from hell with a man who taught me a lot by default about fraud, malice, oppression and how to “work” the court system. If this weren’t bad enough the person was stalking and threatening us at our home.   My stress levels were so high in this season that my hair was falling out in clumps.

When I discovered I was pregnant I wasn’t sure I had the stamina. So much stress. Such an awful season. I felt horrible for having these feelings. i was worried my stress levels would harm the baby.

But can I say, in light of New York’s mandate regarding the unborn, Andrew is what held me together in a most horrific season of my life. When he was an infant he would stroke my hair as I held him and he would gently fondle my eye lashes. I couldn’t believe how soothing his little touch was. He was and still is the most gentle natured little gentleman. He speaks tremendous words of affirmation to me daily to this day. He seems to be smitten with me and reminds me of my beauty every day. I have zero doubt of his feeling toward his mom. His love belittles my fears and builds me up. This little guy has the same love language as me. He knows how to speak to me, naturally. God knew he was exactly what I needed and how to time his entrance to my life.

So be encouraged. There is no such thing as a crisis pregnancy or bad timing. God knows. I think my little one is the one secret ingredient God used to keep me from becoming totally undone in a most horrific season of soul. I adore this little boy more than any could know. Speak life. Breathe life. Protect life. The unborn are our most precious gifts…

That’s all, Have a good LIFE.

Pray for America:

God, please help us as a nation. We have become undone by the influence of the Dark One who roams about deceiving. Forgive us. We don’t know what we are doing. We need you, God. We need your touch in America. Open our hearts. Open our eyes. Remove the veils. Love prevails. Kiss us gently upon the heart and massage us back to health. We have become undone. Amen.

spiritual fitness

Posted in Uncategorized at 8:07 am by Broken & Brave

I have been off of social media the last three days.

I took three days to feast my eyes on the heavens and a little extra down time in the mornings to examine the inside of my eye lids. It was amazing. I absolutely loved the break and to be honest—didn’t really want to get on any of my pages today. I’ve continued to blog, but avoided Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you should desire to follow me on any of these pages my user name is nikkimcbfit. I also have a business page on Facebook for all things health related called Advo/Next Level Sports Performance. I’d love to have you there!

I write exhortations for the soul and my Instagram page is almost entirely fitness/nutrition related.

But what a gift to open my Facebook page and see a few of my friends/clients who testify to some extraordinary things God is doing for them in the midst of enormous adversity.

Life is what you make of it. I love to write and encourage and know that I have a God given gift to edify and impart Peace to the human soul.
Yesterday I received a message about this—thank you.♥️

Spiritual fitness always requires a time of fasting and refreshing. I enjoyed my vacation, but now I am back! And I’m more excited than ever. Some of the down time I spent with my web designer creating my website. God is going to bless His promise to me and I’m going to get paid for my blogs.

God impart to you an added measure of value today. Begin this morning knowing you are loved. You can do all things because God cares about you and makes the crooked places straight. He is like a well spring of goodness watering your life. Everything you have concern of will turn out just right. Now tuck that into your pocket and enjoy the ride. The best things in life carry the weight of Heaven inside.
Let my words be like protein binding together every cell of who you are.
You are Strong.

Mantle of Liberty

Posted in true story tagged , , , at 8:13 am by Broken & Brave

The instruction of the Almighty in my life has a peculiar obedience. When I struggle in it, when worship and prayers and quietness before Him yet elude that breakthrough power I seek, I frequently reignite my spark by sharpening my iron against those heroes of old who did difficult things for the Lord. I was just telling my husband the other day we were due to re-watch the movie “Amazing Grace”. One of a few movies that stir our zeal.

I was actually sensing God lean in my heart to write about this today, but I wasn’t sure. It’s very raw and very personal. But one of my devotions this morning was on this very thing. So take a few moments to read on. Step into my heart…it’s not mine anyway. It’s the Lords, so I as ever continue to do as He declares for my life. I obey.

“William Wilberforce is one of my heroes. He lived in the early 1800s in England. He was born into wealth but came to Christ at 28 after John Newton, a converted former slave trader played a big role in his life.

He was going to become a minister until Newton called him aside and said, “No, you are called to politics and that is where you must stay.” Like many believers who find Christ, we think being sold out for God means becoming a pastor.

Newton understand Wilberforce would be more valuable to the Kingdom of God as a politician than a minister. He was right. Wilberforce achieved 69 world-changing initiatives, not the least of which was the abolishment of slavery after 30 years of work.

But his real ability was working with other influencers. He had the ability to network and mobilize other believers for social action. That is what we need today, especially in Washington.”

(Os Hillman)

When my husband was courting me (because, yes, we courted. I can honestly say we didn’t date. Peculiar in this day and age in and of itself, but I digress)…one of the things I remember him sharing with me, as though he were disclosing important information I needed to know before I got into this relationship any deeper. He told me that though he loved coaching, the ultimate call of God for his life was politics.

A life in that arena has NEVER appealed to me, but I said ok, because I knew that God has hand picked and hand designed my marriage. I surrendered my will for a spouse, ended a relationship I didn’t want to, for God’s Love, and swore I’d never look back. So how could I refute God’s design for my future husbands life?

Over the years there have been those who “court” politicians who have tried to get John to run for office or come under their grooming. Many have suggested that John run for office, suggesting that his valor was needed. But God is quite particular about the purity of the call on His kids and also the timing of a specific calling. So we have patiently known, but waited.

This past year has brought many changes for us. God radically closed some doors we had no idea He would close. It caused us to lean even more deeply into the faith obedience He has groomed us in.

But now, some new and beautiful doors have opened to replace the old ones and we see even more clearly what God is up to.

Washington has never needed more than now voices of truth and unwaivering faith to rise up and protect our constitution and those it protects. We feel the time draw close to step into all God has prepared my husband for.  Some changes coming and I’m not sure how it will play out. But it looks like not only will my kids be in school, but my husband will be, too. I’m excited for him. Law School will give him the intellectual challenge his mind needs.

Should the Lord lay it on your heart, we covet your prayers. Divine Assignments are not easily thwarted by the Enemy, but of course, he always tries.

Amazing Grace…raise up men and women of deep conviction, purity and faith. We must approach and overcome the daunting task of resurrecting this nation. We have received our tangible blessing as a country, now it’s time to receive our full spiritual inheritance.

God Bless America…I love her still.

For the love of the people…

For the love of God…

She will be greater still.

Her true best is yet to come.

“Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine…” Exodus 19:5
