Shiny Things…

Did you know that your soul has a luster and Shine? Cares of life, the world, anxieties and worries that plague the heart all have the propensity to dull and dim our shine. But when we take time in meditative prayer, worship, it’s like we recharge the batteries on an internal flashlight so it can once again shine bright.

So many people strive to achieve success and “the good life”. I’ve known a lot of people living the extremely good life, yet their life continues to be dull and lacking shine. Where you live is not a street address, prime real estate, a desirable country or state. Where you truly live is within you. Your soul is your true home. In the Word it is called “Nephesh”. Nephesh is a Hebrew word and it literally translates throat, but in context it can mean any part of “your whole self”.

Devote your “whole self” to God.

Devotion time with God isn’t complicated. A scripture a day, a prayer offered like a heart to heart conversation. There is something beautiful, Brave and Courageous about being able to audibly speak what’s going on inside your heart and mind even if it feels like the air is the only one listening. I guarantee if you keep it up you will not only feel the difference in how you handle the cares of the day, you will begin to feel the warmth that internal shine has to offer. You might surprise yourself.

Offer it up today. A little inspiration, a little prayer, drop every care and bow your heart to Heaven. I guarantee Heaven will turn and bend and ear to your spoken heart.

Shiny Things are Beautiful Things…

Time Together

This is an incredible hour-

my time with you, Lord, I always completely devour.

There is no such thing as gluttony when it comes to partaking of your Presence. You are a Generous Host. You set a special place at your table for me and your portions are generous…heaping and steeping as your Goodness spills over. Your plates you serve upon are ornate with beauty. All things that attract my eye because you are all things attractive. Who else could there be?…You are ALL.

There is absolutely no one else like you. You’re head and shoulders above the rest and with your company I am blessed-

You are a lavisher of love.

The moisture in your Voice soothes every dry patch of heart, mind and soul. Ever so gentle are you. The only thing difficult about spending time with you is leaving…

Once in your Presence the Magnificence lingers, the touch of Heaven’s Fingers and I would be remiss to not linger-

But the day calls on, so I carry on, but your portion I carry with me (John 13:35). With it I receive the fragrant, sweet and content joy that came from my time spent with you…
Everything goes better when I get my time with you.💛

“Dwell in love and you will dwell in God.” – William Law

“The Lord’s love is the love of communication all that He has to all His creatures; for He desires the happiness of all; and a similar love prevails in those who love him, because the Lord is in them”

Risky Heart

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , at 7:44 am by Broken & Brave

One of the riskiest things to do is trust someone…not knowing if the trust will be honored or returned.
But God is and will always be worthy of your trust. Even when you don’t know how things will turn out. Even when you don’t know which way to go. Even when it looks as though He has left you or forgotten you. Yes, even then, you can trust Him. It’s like He has gone ahead, filled your vehicle with gas and is coming back to provide your Way. He plans to help to make a get away from all that weighs your heart and soul. So, don’t worry. You can trust Him. He holds you in the Cup of His Hand. He always has a plan. ~Nicole

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Holy Cross

The high road is this way…

In my young married life–a season of the growth of my soul– I remember struggling with something and God helping me to learn to handle it. I remember having a dream of me carrying a cross just like Jesus did. Only I saw something in this dream that looked like a large hand reach down from the sky and gently pinch the large cross on my back as though it were only a stick and began to gently lift so the weight in my back gave some slack.

This is the beauty of God. We sometimes go through trials that aren’t necessarily because of poor choices. Sometimes things just happen. In those times remember that it is no shock to God. He will carry you through it. You may feel like you have to carry the burden, and endure some pain, but to God it’s only a stick and He carries it too. The cool thing about God is He can out lift you…He will always carry the heaviest end of your burden.

He has got you. No worries…Nicole
