Edify. Encourage. Exhort: God can use dead things

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , at 6:43 am by Broken & Brave

The Lord has really been swirling my thoughts in my mind to King Solomon lately. . .

“King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.” 1 Kings 10:23-24

Notice in this passage that the people came to hear his wisdom, not to see his riches. Solomon was as great in riches as he was in wisdom and vice versa. But it was His wisdom that brought him favor from distant lands who sent gifts to him and he was equipped to build a house for the Lord.

God is always a step or two ahead of us. Our minds are finite. Let’s back up a bit in this man’s story. Well, let’s back up to his father’s story-King David.

King David—a man who was a bit of a scoundrel when you look at his actions and choices. So what made him so special to the heart of God? His heart. Ultimately David desired God deeply and in purity. God can work with that. So David has messed it up with Bathseda. He got her pregnant and then tries to cover it up. Finally, when all other ideas failed, He places her husband out to the front lines of battle making her a widow so he could marry her. But something happened, Nathan the prophet came and told David this wasn’t good and that as consequence the baby was going to die. David was beside himself with grief. The scriptures say he wailed and wept day and night and didn’t eat. None of his servants could console his grief.

He prayed and prayed and prayed.

Then when word came the child had died, he got up washed his face and ate. His entire household was baffled. What was his reply? He considered that perhaps the Lord would relent and spare the child, but once he died he knew he was gone and couldn’t influence Gods choice. So he got up, bathed and worshipped some more.

“While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.” 2 Sam. 12:22

When we are in the midst of our deepest grief and our most intense battles God can be found still. In the stillness of our heart and the recesses of our mind we must pull to the forefront that God is always good. God will sometimes shut doors, allow dreams to die, business ventures to fail and relationships to become strained or even end, so He can gain a greater audience in our heart. We may already be intimate with Him, but He has designs on abundant rivers to flow of Pure Gold.

David comforted Bathseda and she conceived again. This time she gave birth to Solomon, the very one we began this devotion with.

What can we take away from this unusually sad story?

Sometimes you’ve just got to let the baby die (metaphorically speaking). Once it dies, don’t look back. God will meet every lack and make way for the preparation for your own personal Solomon. So hold onto your dreams in the bigger scene of life—but know that God will take down every giant in your life and will anchor you to His Golden Path. Do not mourn for what is no more. Cherish the wisdom you gained and know that God is decided upon your heart. When you burn purely and deeply for Him you’re going to win at whatever He wills for your life.

Hold tight. There is a fortress of goodness awaiting, a warehouse of wisdom and a story worth telling–

And they will come from miles around to hear your words.

Edify. Encourage. Exhort.

Wash your face, be happy, Worship.

Poised to Prosper

Posted in Devotional tagged , , , , , , , , at 3:51 am by Broken & Brave

God is like a Great Surgeon.

He is always probing our hearts, touching our lives trying to extract something beautiful. But with his extraction He does something else—

He reduces the things that cause inflammation to the soul.

When you have inflammation in your body it begins to not feel good. The pain or discomfort could be localized like an upset stomach for example. Your belly may ache a bit or feel uncomfortable because of something you ate, or maybe you didn’t eat enough. It could have been caused by stress or something else. Ultimately, there is an irritation in the natural wiring and flow of your body systems and it needs attending. Inflammation is a sign.

Pain can be a beautiful thing. Pain draws attention to an area of our life, our heart, our spirit and mind that needs attending. Pain exposes the Truth. Seasons of pain expose what’s really going on inside our hearts. A genuine and pure heart will continue to cling to love, cling to peace, cling to the Kindness of Heaven despite what it goes through.

Love has the power to endure pain. Just look at our Lord as He suffered as He did.

Just look at Ruth, who remained on the threshing floor despite all the loss she endured in her life. She declared Naomi’s God her God when she could have cursed God and walked away.

Just look at David who danced “undignified” before the Lord despite the scorn of a proud wife.

Look at the lesser known Abigail and how she honored her husband and fulfilled her marital duty all the while putting out fires her husband lit along the way. A woman of worth Faithful and True.

These are examples in the Word of God to only name a few. All who endured and followed the Path of Love with their own unique expression of Love, Worship, Humility.

The Lord God is a shroud and He surrounds His faithful people. He surrounds them like a shield or a wall of fire (Zech 2).

“You bless those who obey you, Lord; your love protects them like a shield.” Psalm 5:12

“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm 125:2

God is a Dissector and He is exploring the hearts of humanity. He is looking to extract Truth. He is exposing its true content.

He is looking to give you a new heart, Beloved. But to truly find out what’s inside He must probe around a bit and see what contents our hearts hold.

The finger of God can be uncomfortable, but the finger of God can also reach in where no one else can reach and He can mend a thing, and love a heart, and heal a hurt and restore the broken making it something that shines. The finished work will be new and just what He created it to be when He designed your heart, my heart, in the first place.

Does it feel like your life is under the knife? God’s not trying to cut you up. God is not planning to cut you out. Your plans may be getting messed up, but who says His plans aren’t better anyway?

Just rest in it. The surgery will go better when you surrender and trust the Great Physician of Love who knows what He’s doing. All the while He is probing and extracting and mending and depositing something magnificent in you. Something else will happen, you will get a glimpse of the contents of the hearts of others, too.

“. . . For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Sam. 16:7

Hearts in pain are exposed, but maybe even more so are the hearts of the onlookers. Who are God’s Great and True Samaritans?

Who is unconcerned?

Who is too busy?

Who is too proud?

Who is too pious?

Who is too important?

Who is altogether lovely?

Who is kind?

Who is attentive to the needs of others?

Who is Compassionate?

Who is faithful?

Who is gentle?

Who is patient?

God is all of these things and more. Allow His extraction and increase your attraction to a heaven that is real and the amazing grace and love available by a Good, Good God.

Embrace the Journey—

Because He is extracting something good.

Words of Worth

Posted in Inspirational, leadership tagged , , , at 8:06 am by Broken & Brave

Jesus was sent to earth on Assignment. He was sent to set humanity free. The world judged, condemned and crucified Him.

They thought they had been sent to teach him something, but in truth Jesus has been sent to teach them.

Never confuse the stripes left on his back as any kind of lack. The Savior, my Lord, took the high road and that road lead to a place called Golgotha.

There is Power in both the spoken and unspoken word. What’s not said in the Bible is just as relevant as what is said. Go deep with me for a moment. I’m not suggesting to add to the Word of God. But maybe explore a new mindset in how you read it?

Why does God choose the words chosen and stories told? Some stories go into deep detail while others have us hinged to know, yet the story is told with vagueness and ambiguity. Why?

Because my God is a Lover of Deep Mystery. He wants to compel and draw us in. The deeper in we go the more we become loved by the Book as it reads us.

His mystery is the chemistry that stirs my soul.

Explore the Word with eyes of adventure and a heart open to the unique creativity of a Maker who’s ways we will never figure out. His words are weighty. His words are Lovely. His words are Life giving and healing waters. When I soak them them, I am blessed and refreshed.

Last few weeks have been a whirlwind for my family. Just like that, many sudden changes. Though there has been a lot on our plate to manage and juggle, mostly helping others who went through the same thing manage their heartache and pain—we had a business dissolve just like that leaving thousands of people in need of a new job. These jobs lost were very financially lucrative. In fact, over the last five months my family has lost our two largest income streams. But we’ve been groomed for faith living. We’ve been ok. And God, in all his unmatchable kindness prepares us for it all. He showed us that it was coming before we knew a single thing. What a loving King!

On top of lots of change and having to hold a lot of hurting people, we were moving to a different town. Moving is difficult, but compound it when you think of moving a very large family. It feels a bit like Abraham touring the dessert.

It was a difficult and time consuming move wiggled in around work, kids and sports and birthdays. I mention this because for a solid week the Holy Spirit released me from writing and when I did write it was for encouragement for a hurting people so I mostly wrote text messages and emails.

On my social platforms I do a lot of writing and encouraging… I was surprised to have a lot of people calling me and texting me asking how I was and if they could pray for me. Some knew about our changes and some didn’t they just saw I wasn’t posting.

Then it was like a lightbulb over my head—What I didn’t say was speaking to them just like when I had something to say. My lack of presence was speaking!

Communication is a funny thing. I ensured everyone we were good, but I would love the prayer because I was truly digging deep to be what these people needed in a time of despair. And of course, for clarity of direction for our own life.

Our words carry power.

The things we are proven consistent in carry weight—even when we don’t realize it. I realized last week the power God had given me when I obeyed and stepped out in faith to write, journal, inspire, blog online for all this time.

Last week I had well meaning folks I love, but whom I always have trouble getting a hold of reach out and try to be my source of comfort. It didn’t really sit well. I appreciated their effort, but the foundation wasn’t right, they hadn’t been there for me on lesser things so why now? But God used it to prove to me over and over how important consistency is.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with your consistent love.

Thank you for molding my heart to your hand and carrying me on the days I can’t carry myself and also the days I have to carry myself and countless others. Thank you for making every transition in life a meaningful and joyful move. Thank you for the love of others you give us—we need each other. And thank you for laying the sure foundation, my cornerstone of Hope. I wouldn’t change your design on my life for anything. And thank you that I am done moving! Amen.

If this prayer or blog resonates with you at all, then grab it and pray on it asking the Lord to reveal what piece He wants you to have from it. My pen it not my own. It’s important to not confuse the messenger with the message. It’s His pen, I just do the writing with the unique and creative love language God has given me. Not everyone will like it, but this is for those who do.

Prayer of Exhortation

Posted in Prayer of blessing tagged , , at 7:14 am by Broken & Brave

I know you are hurting.

I know you have concerns.

Some of the things you are feeling you aren’t even expressing or sharing. You’re still processing them and trying to put words to them for yourself first.

If you identify with a Sovereign Creator, then you’ve got to look up. Your Source is Constant.

Your Source is a Companion.

Your Source is an able and ever ready Helpmate.

Your God cares deeply for you.

He made you and put a lot into what He has made.

You will never achieve your fullest potential living in shadow. We can learn from others—both what to do and also what not to do. You will always rise highest when you realize what God made you for was wonderful and it doesn’t have to be like any path you’ve ever walked before. God is opening new doors.

The stars mix and mingle and crest the sky to remind us to shine.

The moon dances as the black backdrop enhances its splendor.

The Enemy means the dark thing we walk through to blacken our eye and darken our soul—but God has something more in mind. God uses that which meant to daunt you to elevate you like a shooting star, launching you into an atmosphere so deeply designed just for you— and when you arrive you know exactly what to do because God has equipped you.

Angels watch over you.

Star gazer gaze at you.

Heaven is betrothed to you.

You’ve got a way about you—

Not everyone understands it,

But there are those who do.

Be you…

Be you…

Something intoxicating and special about you.

~Nicole

“Can a woman forget her nursing child,

that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?

Even these may forget,

yet I will not forget you.”

Isaiah 49:15

Almighty—

Allow us to tap into the Star Gazer inside. Lean deep into our chest and crest your glory and etch with your pen an anthem upon our hearts that can only be designed by You. Give us crystal clear vision your plans for our days. Walk with us, each day, as we walk out your plans for us. Give us new hope. Give us reach that brings glory to your kingdom deep. Give us wisdom and divinely guide us and place inside of each of us a stoic and resilient need to excel for you and to be holy, set apart, faithful and true. We rise to the occasion because our hearts rise for you. Bless us and keep us. Let your loving face and heavenly gaze watch over us. You are more. It’s you we adore. Let our hearts never forget it is all for you. May we hear those words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Amen.

***If this word of exhortation is for you—grab hold. God still loves you more than anything your longest, your hottest, your hardest day could bring.

100 Percent Effort

Posted in Inspirational tagged , , , , , , , , , at 7:05 am by Broken & Brave

Do it anyway—Even when it’s not perfect. Give it your ALL—

How can I adequately sing a song of praise to you? How can I properly change my heart to execute your Goodness, Mercy and Love?

There is no one like you…

Not on the earth.

Not under the earth-

Nor can one be found in the sea or within the heavens.

You alone are ALL.

Because you are ALL- you not only inspire me to give you my all, but your devotion to me has power to demonstrate that I have your all as well. I know others love you and you enjoy their love. But there’s something about supernatural zeal that communicates and executes an inspired level of devotion that lets me know “I’m your favorite”, or at least this is how Agape Love makes me feel. And that is enough…it is truly enough.

Because of your devotion to me, as impossible to fathom as can be, I give my all to you, daily.

Does God play favorites?

Yes—I believe He does and He is like a Jealous Lover peering in the dark and making Light the occupants of our heart. He wants to make your heart His Chamber alone.

Choose me, Almighty, for your love is a potent wine.

Your love so powerful it betrays all that tempts to occupy our time and attention…mere distraction.

Angels do exist-

and sometimes they are no more than Heavens gentle kiss on the life and the bliss of the human hearts.

You reach…

You touch…

You create beauty is us…

We never grow old.

We are made new, through and through.

Being next to you is like an eternal dip in the fountain of youth.

You make me feel so young because each day we are brand new—my soul has been branded for you.

You don’t recycle us – you actually create new life in us and this is a glorious thing.

May the presence of heaven be with you this and every day…

Creating magical memories and miracles –

Profound miracles along the Way.

Love is the Greeting Card of Heaven. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

Now be on your way—have a fabulous day.

His Presence and Favor with you always.

Friendships, seasoned and marinated with time, have the best flavor! God adored you and favors you and uses me to remind you that you have a delightful inheritance!

So spend time each and every day conversing with your Maker. Get to know Him. Let him get to know you through communion of soul. Make connection with Him.

He already knows you-He created you! But He enjoys the sound of your voice and the time together is special to Him. It’s hard to Believe God would delight so in humanity, but He truly does.

“Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, ‘If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only;‘ ”

1 Samuel 7:3

When you go with God, you never go alone.

Internal Navigation

Holy GPS!

Have you ever gotten lost? Ever had plans fail or the unexpected happen? Of course you have, we all have. Especially if you have children!

Early in my walk with God, I mean when it truly became my faith and my relationship, I was in my twenties and I would lie in bed at night and just talk to Him. I would share my heart. I’ve always been a bit of a meek personality. If you are meek or shy at all you understand that small intimate groupings are comfortable for us. We like them. I like them. But if there is one really loud person or strong personality it is all it takes to be still and quiet and not speak. It is easy to be dominated by the person who talks the most. But when I would lie with my Lord He would listen to my heart and soul and I could speak everything within my hearts walls and he would listen to it all. No interruptions. No instructions. But I could feel His love. It was in this place of prayer I began to feel him stronger and then discern him correspond back to my soul. I kept feeling it over and over He would say, “I Am guiding your path.” Sometime after this repeated theme began I had a woman tell me that God wanted her to tell me He is guiding my path.

He is guiding your path.

He never leads you to something He won’t carry you through. Lie in his arms and share your point of view. He is listening and attentive and concerned for you. He wants to guide your path, too. ~Nicole

Honor and Duty

Esther had attributes that would make any woman great. She possessed humility, wisdom, compassion and courage. I love reading about Esther.

Her life brings questions to my mind I will never know the answer to. Esther received the royal treatment. A common Jewish girl who found herself wearing a crown and married to the king. Esther may or may not have been interested in this title or role-but God gave it to her because he knew she would carry out completely the assignment he required for her.

She may not have understood what God was up to. She may have even begged to be hidden from view-

but God knew what to do and so did her relative, Mordecai, who was the only earthly father she ever knew.

C6D71097-367C-4B75-A4B8-C0B6CA68A6CE

We can learn so much from the life of Esther. She may have struggled with her calling in life. She may have wanted to hide or run away. But she trusted her Father and she did as he said and it turned out well for her in the end she brought empowerment back to her people.

God’s got things for you to do that you may not always want to do or understand. Trust his lead and watch everything work out in the end as your eyes behold…you were born for such a time as this. ~Nicole

“O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” Psalm 62:8

Exhortation of Blessing~

Go forth this day knowing beyond any shadow of doubt, that God’s thoughts toward you run deep and not a day would be complete without His Tender Arm reaching down and fondling your heart. He makes every crooked place straight. He is the Keeper of every Gate and holds the keys to everything. He is not loud. He is not proud, but He is besotted and His eye amplified on you–His glorious prize. Allow the Lord to be the soul possessor of your heart and soul. He will guard your mind. He will throb your heart. He will soothe all that chaffs you. You will not be wind blown, but you will be a wind song and become the anthem and glory of soul. God is your impenetrable shield of Hope and His Word is whispering sweet somethings to you. Believe Him for your worth. Believe Him for the wealth He treasures you for. Believe His countenance for you is soft. Believe He is grateful He hung on a Cross to love and to rescue you.

You, Beloved, are worth it.

Be encouraged…

New Levels New Devils

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , , at 6:02 am by Broken & Brave

For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

—1 Corinthians 1:26

“Sometimes God calls people to lead who don’t necessarily want to lead. When God called Gideon to be a leader of Israel, he was hiding from his enemies, the Midianites. The angel of the Lord appeared and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” (Judges 6:12 NKJV). However, in that moment, Gideon was about as uncourageous as he could be.

Gideon was cowering in fear because of his enemies, yet the Lord was calling him into service. He protested, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house” (Judges 6:15 NKJV). Another way to say that would be, “I’m the runt of the litter. Don’t bother with me. My brothers—they’d do a much better job.” But God chose Gideon.

Sometimes the Lord chooses people who don’t want to be leaders because they know they can’t do it on their own. They’ll have God-confidence instead of self-confidence.

It’s also true that sometimes God does not call people who do want to be leaders. Maybe it’s because they want it too much. Maybe it’s because they want it for the wrong reason. It’s a great privilege to be a leader, and there is great joy in being able to perhaps see things change or influence things or accomplish something of value. But it isn’t for the faint of heart.

There’s a price you will pay. If you’re a leader, wherever you might lead, you will be misunderstood, misrepresented, mocked, and criticized. Sometimes there even will be threats on your life. So don’t try to be a leader if God hasn’t called you to be one. But if He has called you to lead, then by all means do so.”

(Greg Laurie Harvest America)

When I was a young adult God brought into my life the incredible gift of John Maxwell and his unique gifting to teach leadership skills. We all know that leadership techniques can be taught, but true leadership is caught. As I was listening to some teaching materials by Maxwell I paused to pray a simple prayer telling the Lord I felt overwhelmed. I hadn’t heard any of this before and how in the world could I lead? I wasn’t a leader. That was my belief. No more than a few seconds later the Lord fires back His answer direct to my mind and heart. The Spirit declared to my soul, “If you are a Christian you are called to lead!” With that, I never looked back and I continued to learn and continued to try. I’ve failed many times, but I’ve learned over time that though I may glean wisdom from others, the world doesn’t need another copy of those others. I had a unique flair and style all my own that would be used to speak to some, but not everyone.

If you are going to lead you must do so from a posture of empowerment. If everyone thinks they can’t do it then they won’t. Empowering is leading others to believe that if you can do it, so can they!

If you’re going to lead you are going to be criticized. Period. It’s the enemies way of using sometimes well meaning people to wear you down, cause you to doubt or make you turn back. Don’t have that! It’s never people, it’s always their own fears, worries, insecurities and lack that cause them to attack. Most of my criticism has come from other Believers. I think all Believers in the Church have experienced criticism from other Believers. That is because we are all human and that is our community. Christians aren’t perfect people, just redeemed people.

In 2004 when we sold our home for next to nothing and gave away everything we owned as well as the profit from the sale of our home. People in the Church came unglued! I had one person tell me they never knew anyone who could hear the Spirit like I do and when God told me to jump they always saw me respond, “How high?”. But in the next breath they told me this choice has to be an exception because God wouldn’t ask anyone to do what I was doing.

Really? How about the entire first century church? I had the wisdom to read between the lines–they were frightened I was hearing the Lord correctly and He might ask them to do the same thing! Sure it hurt, but you’ve got to learn to brush it off and see criticism for what it is 9 times out of 10. If the criticism is true God will bring it back to you until you fix what He is trying to fix. And keep in mind that it requires discernment to filter between condemnation and conviction. Everyone dislikes discomfort, but I’ve witnessed many who dislike discomfort to a degree that they throw away conviction calling it condemnation when it wasn’t anything of the sort. We all have to look at ourselves to truly see ourselves.

The Lord once told me if the Church is treating their own like this, imagine what the world would do to you! If you look close, there is encouragement in that.

Be thankful it’s not worse!

Attitude is everything!

If you’re going to lead, make sure every single day you are doing it for the right reasons. Leading is nothing more than guiding people to Christ. Seeing the best in them and empowering them to know that they can do what you can do. Leaders don’t keep God’s Glory, they give it away. You are not a blueprint of anyone else. You have your own set of unique abilities—blueprints, sent to you by vehicle of your DNA.

You are made of the right stuff. You don’t need to be anybody else, God’s got some leading for you to do! The mantle of heaven looks marvelous on you. God knew what He was doing when He chose you.

He chose you, Beloved! What an honor to serve!

Shine bright because you are a diamond that brings the Lord sheer delight!

~Nicole

Today is a day like none other! Go boldly, love brilliantly and behold every ounce of Gold that the Lord has entrusted to you. To be Golden is to see the Touch of the Master in everything you pursue and do. Heaven takes delight in you so be delighted!

Have a great day and always know everything I say is with absolute and imperative belief that you are worth loving and are hand designed by the King of kings. Be empowered~~

Rise up and take the day. ~Nicole💕

Harnessed Potential

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , , , at 6:27 am by Broken & Brave

There is Power in harnessed potential.

The Kentucky Derby was this past weekend and the thrill of the race this year extended far beyond the two minute flat tread around a track. For the first time in history of the great race the winner didn’t get the prize.

The weather conditions for this race were wet. Not the ideal day for racing. Maximum Security was a top contender, the odds were strongly in his favor, and he lead the pack around most of the track–in the lead nearly the entire race. A little breech in game rules (who knows if it was intentional or not) that could only be detected on instant replay disqualified him making Country House the 65:1 long shot winner.

A race horse has real power. But when on the track his eyes have a half mask to secure his focus on his path. He can see what’s ahead of him and what’s just next to him, but most of his peripheral is blocked. He doesn’t look behind himself…that’s the jockeys job. He looks straight ahead, eyes locked. Focus laser sharp.

You are not a race horse, but you may in fact be a thoroughbred by human standards. You’ve been gifted. You are earmarked for something greater. You have vision, ideas, purpose and best yet a reason for your purpose. Are you decided?

It’s the decided of heart that start on the mark, but then they do what it takes every single day (because some only dream and never start at all and some start strong, but fail to finish well). Success is blessed by heaven, God is the Giver of it all, but success comes in greater and lasting measure to those who did the work and earned it. Success comes to those who are willing to do what others are not willing to do.

Winners have a winning attitude and a confidence resolved in Heaven.

What about you? Do you possess the willingness and discipline to win? Winning isn’t defined as first place first prize. Just ask the owners and jockey of Maximum Security. Winning is knowing who you are and understanding why your alive!

Come Alive!

You’ve got a reason to be here. You’ve got a place to go and God’s got Angels protecting you along the road. Victory is the only option and you are Heaven’s Candidate.

There are Holy and Living blinders on the heart of heaven and God has got his periscope of hope locked on you.

Run your race with all of your might. God is around that bend, cheering your name, looking for you, waiting for you, praising you to the finish.

Rise and Shine, Beloved! One more day of the grind because you know in your heart what’s on the other side!

You have the look of a thoroughbred. You have specifically designed lineage decided and hand picked by heaven to do something as unique as you. You’ve been gifted the right size and strength to fill the gap and take the void as you pave the path in which others will yield. You go first because the eye of the crowd is upon you. God’s got designs for everything you say, every place you go and all that you do. You aren’t concerned with the contenders. You know God has for you a Mighty Heart Mender and He alone will get you where you need to go.

Find your Tenacity and Grit and get after it–

see you on the other side!

Nicole~

A Moisture Rich Environment

One of the amazing truths of Heaven I figured out a while ago, but I confess it has taken me a great number of years in the hammering of it out until it became a well framed mindset, is the knowledge that no matter what—

God has a plan for it all and your position today is a divine assignment.

Everywhere we go or don’t go, is ordered by the Lord. He has a plan for it all. All you experience—both the richness and the laughter and the sorrow and even disaster, God Almighty was there with you through it all (that part I got right away-His love too amazing for me to miss, I adore His kiss). Though He didn’t decree it all, He is there in the process of it all helping you work your salvation out.

What exactly does that mean, “working your salvation out”? It means you don’t read a song, you sing it. You don’t carry a burden, you let God have it. You don’t beat yourself up, you seek God’s guidance forgiveness and restoration. You don’t wallow in problems asking “why me, why this?, you understand that every problem has a root and the root must be extracted so something more glorious can grow and flow in its place.

How then should we pray?

When Nehemiah was helping the Israelites rebuild the walls of Jerusalem he posted Watchman to guard the wall day and night from those who did not desire to see the Holy of Holies fortified and it’s treasure protected. The men working on the wall had tools for construction in one hand and a weapon in the other. They remained alert and guarded as they did their work. Nehemiah petitioned God as one who had sinned, though he knew not their sins personally (a foreshadow of what Christ would do for us).

This is how we pray…

Thursday was the National Day of Prayer. My daughter is a young independent adult and lives in my home city. It’s a blessing to have her close and she and I have a lovely friendship. We have a mentor relationship as well. Her spiritual gifts are almost identical to mine. God told me years ago to continue to mentor her as a Watchman of Compassion. She has a deep love for the downtown of my city, a glamorous place by no stretch of the imagination. She has a job downtown that connects her the very pulse right at the main artery of the city. She has been talking for years of wanting to live there as well. As a Momma I wasn’t thrilled by this idea until the Lord whispered to my soul it was of him and she’d be fine. She just rented herself a very upscale and safe apartment in the downtown. God did that for me I think, her complex nearly impossible to rent in without the right connections.

My beautiful girl called me on Thursday to explain all the bad things that were unique to the downtown that morning (she doesn’t usually do this so I knew the spiritual atmosphere must have been particularly bad and it was bothering her soul). After she was done sharing I simply told her, “Ok, your the Watchman on the Wall in Downtown, it is not a coincidence that all this havoc and distraction from truth and life are happening on the National Day of Prayer right near the artery of the heart of the city— how are we going to pray?”

The Enemy is a Master of Distraction. Even though you may genuinely be enduring a trial, the Enemy wants you addicted to the trial instead of finding refreshment at the feet of your Savior. You’ve got to pray upon yourself the full armor of God. This uniform is found in the pages of Ephesians chapter 6. You’ve got to worship your Maker when you feel yourself falling under and bogged down with worry and pain. Worship! Make the most of your prayer. It doesn’t have to be gaudy and long and reminding God of His Name over and over again. Father God, do this, Father God do that…Father God knows He’s Father! I think He kind of likes us to tickles His ears a little more than that. Think of the Greatest Love of your life. I bet you spoke or speak to them with more moisture than that?

God speaks to me romantically and rhythmically because well—He knows I like it. And He knows I’m wired that way. Tenderness is a big deal to me because I am very tender. But stoic strength also speaks to me because like it or not, I know I’m wired that way as well. God knows He can be strong with me, but His strength is always laced kindly. He never bears down on me, He gently shows me. I respond best to gentleness.

Speak to God how you’d like to be spoken to. He is your Lord, but He is also your Lover and your Friend.

If you enjoy His company, tell Him! Express how attracted to His Presence you are and how hinging your heart in the nook of His chest brings you pleasure…tender. Acknowledge that it is His Love that inspires you.

The Love of God inspires. I am nothing without it. My pen would run out of ink. My soul would become despondent. My mind would descend to regions of negative thinking and my flesh would grow tired. I would lose my luster and passion for life. This wondrous love that has filled me inside is the greatest love story of my life. He inspires me to do what I am asked to do. He wants to inspire you, too. But you’ve first got to get to the place where you soften enough to realize your problems were never meant to turn you bitter, but to enlarge your capacity and make you better. Armor up, A-moire and declare the fondness of heaven even in the very midst of your darkest storm. Allow the finger of heaven to wrap around your heart, mind and soul and change you. Never again allow the Enemy of your Assignment here on earth distract you from your real Assignment. Everyone has a Purpose.

I feel strong that this word is sent from above hand delivered for someone today. Maybe you need reminding that your first Love is with you and anchored to your journey in a way you had forgotten or maybe even not really understood? God is beside you.

God walks, lives, breathes, dwells~

right beside you, Beloved.

“My soul is in anguish, How long, O LORD, how long? Turn, LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.”

Psalm 6:3-4

Let’s pray together—

Who is like you, My Love? There is none. Not one. No one else can do what you do. No one else has touched my heart and melted it the way you have melted it. Your love strokes me internally and helps me breathe more completely. You have secured my love forever. I look to you always, hoping you will whisk me away from all of my troubles. Carry me away to a place where we can be together. I know heaven is real for your love gives me indication and desire to go with you there one day. But for today, I can do nothing without you. I am pointless without you. Though I am unworthy of your love I cannot deny how it fits me like a glove and soothes the deep creases of my heart like nothing ever has before. There is no one like you. My heart is transfixed on you. In every season—the dry, the cold, the weariness, I continue to look up for yours is the only Cup I desire to drink of your Love from. Splendid indeed. I know you will intervene and intercede in a manner in my life that is best suited for me. Everything happens with your Design in mind. I surrender to your Love and lead. I am surrendered. I will not worry. I will not despair. Your Grace is in the air and I know I can do all thing with you. Amen

He’s got your every care today. Get lost in His eyes…spend some time refreshing in his lavish and love. ~Nicole💕
