Exulted

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , at 9:05 pm by Broken & Brave

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Zeph. 3:17

I want you re-read this passage above. Don’t just glide over it with your eyes. Soak it in…drink it deep. Let it saturate you and then sink in. Absorb it. Become tranquil within it. Allow it to water and soften your soul. What does it speak to you?
Let it resonate. Hear it? Save…rejoice…love exulted…loud singing.

What would or could that feel like? Have you ever been celebrated? I mean truly celebrated? If you have, good for you. I personally have very limited experience with it in the natural. This is perhaps why I feel it so deeply from my Creator. I feel I was created to celebrate. I love to celebrate others and sing their praise. I love to make people feel good. Not a false or fluffy good. But the kind of good that sinks deep and helps people sleep. Exhortation and edification that brings rest to a soul. But I truly have limited experience being the recipient of such praise. I am not sure I’d know what to do with it. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it–feel comfortable with it I mean. Except when it comes from my God. I sense the Holy Spirit as He caresses my soul with His acceptance, His contentment with who I am and how we are together.

I don’t have to achieve.
I don’t have to meet any expectations.
No flaming hoops to jump through to earn his favor.
He just loves me and favors me.

I feel it…I feel it deep.

I feel it so deep it saturates me and I cannot keep it all to myself. It must spill out and over-flooding my pen, my tongue, my smile, my touch and I unleash it on whoever needs it. Sometimes I know who that is and sometimes I don’t. But God knows and He directs its course and finds the Host to House his Goodness.

Several years ago…several…I went for a weekend to visit the Dream Center in Los Angeles. I was overwhelmed and overcome by what I saw, heard and experienced. Please research it out if you have never heard of this amazing organization. They reached deep into the very impoverished and hurting region of Los Angeles by Echo Park and Angeles Temple. Drugs. Gangs. Homeless. Prostitution. This area had it all, but what it didn’t have was commerce. No restaurants. No Starbucks (hard to believe with one seemingly on every street corner). The crime and poverty too great for something as simple as a Subway sandwich shop. But Love reached in.

This movement of people believed that by meeting the needs and showing up every day in the lives of people who probably just wished they’d go away–they believed they could make a difference. So they’d love them practically. No preachy sermon. Never told their “sins”. Just loved with a bag of groceries, a ride, a safe haven, a kind word, a smile and all of this put on repeat. Day in-day out. They did not compromise or waiver. My heart melted.

Years went by and this community became just that–a community. People had lives transformed. Transvestites heard they were lovely and loved. Loved by God himself.

These people began showing up on the steps of the Angeles Temple to attend church services and do you know what they do? I experienced it first hand when I went myself…they line up and clap and cheer for you as you walk in. It was overwhelming. So many people from the street have never had anyone cheer for them ever. But don’t think this is exclusive to the down and out. I think it may have been the first time I felt the collective cheer for me and I grew up in the stereotypical “normal” American home.

Why don’t we celebrate each other anymore? Because most people are walking wounded. They can’t give what they don’t have. If they don’t love them self they probably aren’t going to love you. But when you know this–truly know this–you can celebrate. Grab hold of one thing you appreciate about every single person you encounter. Do it! I dare you!! Now focus on that. I’ve done this my whole life. Nobody taught me to do it, I just did. God put it in me. When you learn to appreciate others you will realize you begin to appreciate and like yourself.

Love Big because Love wins.
God himself rejoiced over you.
God celebrates you.
He delights in you.
God wants to keep you company because he enjoys your presence…
And He can think of countless things He likes about you, not just one.
Allow him to flood your soul with His Presence. It will stir, flood and create a kind of love that nothing can dismiss.

Eternal Bliss.

He counts you as His Joy.
Wise men still seek Him.

YOU are set apart. That means you are created, prepared and reserved for something special. God always has His eye on you watching your every move-not because he means to punish or extract something from you-but because He treasures you and He keeps inventory of the things He cherished most. He adores you and His thoughts toward you are adorable. So, you have been set apart. Let His love devour your fears, cares and troubles. Though storms may come, you will never be overcome. He is holding you now. ~Nicole

Invested

The truest generosity, frequently, has little to do with financial wealth.

Sometimes the greatest blessings don’t come out of a place of prosperity. Do not discount yourself from being a tremendous blessing in the life of another. Some of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known, most generous people I have every known, were not wealthy. They understand that when a well is pumped, it doesn’t run dry…it replenishes. Those who are faithful with what they have, receive more…until there is abundance. So, don’t be discouraged! Give generously of yourself!

Sometimes a smile, a note or a friendly hello is all another needs to flow into their potential.
Get invested! ~Nicole

Secured and Treasured

I secured my laurel wreath crown and I ran into the Night…

When God makes you a promise He will rescue you from the moss and the dust.
Over your life he begins to dote and fuss…
You are a big deal to him.
You dawn a smile on his face and project an internal glow that brings radiance to his grace.

He equips then he sends us into the Night to face all that which is dark inside.

Our greatest courage comes when we look inwardly and recognize who we see–the real you, the real me.
We recognize and receive Truth.
This is when we become who we were purposed to be and take our first steps into Providence and Destiny.

He has selected for you a laurel wreath crown…
His crown is not the obvious crown.

It is not flashy or showy…
It is subdued.
It is not greedy or needy…
It is devoted.
A symbol of Mastery.
He loves you and comes toward you.

The Fountain has come and his heart is overrun with Pure pleasure for you.

Allow his Celestial Presence to cascade over you.
Let his veil brush your lips with destiny’s kiss and cover, protect and bless you.
You have been adorned in splendor.

It is in the Night we learn to grow our wings and discover true flight.
He is the Endless Rescuer of our soul.
He is a Mighty and Majestic Help Mate.

So when you face the Night.
Secure your wings tight.
Don’t wrestle the darkness–
Cut through it.

Through it you emerge on the other side Radiant and Captivating with Love’s Pure Light.

God bless your life.
Secure and treasured-
You are loved without measure.

Own the Night….

Polished with Shine✨

Posted in Prayer of blessing tagged , , , , , , , , , at 5:41 am by Broken & Brave

I know many people going through trials they cannot fathom. I pray this encourage you today.

“Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” Proverb

“Open the eyes of my heart Lord.”
To see, to hear, to learn and grow.   There’s love in discipline.
Beautiful is a heart that accepts reproof.

When we realize sometimes we struggle not because we are being punished, but rather we are being loved. There is beauty in forgiveness, humility, meekness, gentleness and all the Fruit of the Spirit.

God is not mad at you or punishing you. He is skillfully loving you into the creation He destined you to be. You may suffer, but it is only temporary. Cling to Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of the three is Love and it hung on a tree for you and for me.

Take care, Beloved. God knows your heart. He sees the multitude of your tears and all the years the locust has eaten. His sleeve is big enough to dry every eye and bind every wound. God is close to the broken hearted…in fact…

His greatest vessels for use are those who have known a broken heart.

That’s where His Love truly begins. You are going to be ok. ~Nicole

Joy is Loves Measuring Stick

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 7:28 am by Broken & Brave

“Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.” Is.60:5

IMG_0753

What does it mean to have joy? To love is to have one’s heart set afire with joy. Exuberant joy reaches through the narrow crevices of soul, entangling the senses and provoking the mind to delicate things…things that stir us…things that move us. Joy exudes out of us through the soul. In the words of Mother Theresa, “Joy is the net of love by which you can catch souls.”

Joy, I believe, is so different from happiness. Joy comes with the deep satisfaction of loving others through serving them. We can serve people in so many ways. Someone once told me that “love is in the details”. That resonates with me. The possibilities to love through the details are endless. How beautiful. Spend sometime today purposing your heart to love and serve God first, then sacrifice yourself to love others more and place yourself last. For truly, the least become greatest in the kingdom of God even when they don’t desire such a seat of honor. ~Nicole

Heart of a Champion

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:37 am by Broken & Brave

To Champion a heart is not about how we feel, but it is always about how we plan to make others feel.

I think that’s pretty awesome!

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

Bathe your heart in thanksgiving and perfume your soul with Hope. It will give off the most pleasing aroma that makes the world want to know!

People all around us are desperate for Hope and desire freedom from depression or sadness of heart. They long for True Peace, but far to many are eluded by it.  Pay attention and see who God has maybe sent you to encourage! You may just possess just the right amount of blessing that adds flavor to the lives of others like a tantalizing dressing to the fruits of the spirit in this life!

Rise up and count yourself blessed!

God will give Himself no rest until He sees you through all that puts your heart, mind and soul to do. He sees the stellar Champion within you.

There is no greater Champion Builder than God Himself! He is with you, encouraging you as you go.

So rise up, Champion, and take this day! …

Its yours!

Ironclad (condensed)

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 6:32 am by Broken & Brave

The following blog post is a cut and paste from a post I wrote several years ago entitled, Ironclad. God bless His intent for me to share old material this morning…Have a Glorious kind of Day.

Have you ever had a large project you procrastinated on? I have. Take organizing a closet for example. To really do a good job you have to pull absolutely everything out, sort by category of item, things to be kept, things to be tossed. When the organizing has been done it is fresh, clean, and you can easily discern and find what you need when you need it. However, you pretty much have to pull everything out first in order to put it back right. That’s the part I dislike. Especially because most projects I begin cannot be completed start to finish in one sitting because I am a Mom and all Mom’s know that completing a project around the house is like gold!

Now, let me apply this concept to your soul, the condition of your heart, your thought life, your family life, your relationships-the close ones. Relationships can be messy. Our minds and hearts can be full of clutter as well. God is very interested in cleaning house. He wants to clean our house because he loves us and cares for us deeply.

Let us say you and a friend are in a large room together and you are packing. There are boxes everywhere stacked high to the ceiling. Let’s go further…let’s say your friend is foreign and has a very thick accent so you usually have to watch their mouth while they speak to help you understand what they are saying. Now, you are together packing boxes and your friend speaks to you, but you can’t really see them because of all the clutter in the room. You are trying to listen and understand what they are telling you but it is hard because you can’t see them past all the boxes to watch their words. Together, you move all of the boxes out of the room and you stand there once again, just you two with no boxes blocking your view. You understand then perfectly because the room has been cleared out and there is nothing obstructing your proximity or view of each other. Kind of an odd analogy but I hope it helps you understand that this is how our connection with God is.

If we have a bunch of “stuff” cluttering up our heart, our thoughts our sprits, even if we are doing our best to work on hearing him, it is a challenge because just like those boxes, we have things in the way. God is good and gentle and kind and He reveals those cluttering items to us as we can handle the job of clearing them out. Sometimes it requires change and choices that aren’t popular with friends or loved ones. This usually doesn’t go over well and there is a bit of a growing season or stretching season. We learn a lot about ourselves and others in this season. If we hem ourselves into God and pursue Him with our whole heart and a pure motive, He takes care of it, but sometimes, almost all the time, it gets a little messy first.

In the process of cleaning our house we experience a humbling of sorts. When God humbles there is no shame. If it were shameful it would be not of God but condemnation. God’s humility is cloaked with love and encouragement. God has Belief, that you can do more, be more, have more. God is always interested in our having more. He wants to build up the walls of your heart, protecting and guarding it, making it ironclad. He wants to do the same with your relationships.

When we seek after God with all of our heart, mind and soul the reward is limitless. The Peace and Joy Divine, the Serenity of Spirit and sweet song of the heart are indescribable. It’s what makes those who have tasted of it dig deeper for more of God. God is always a gentleman, for he does not invoke his prejudice or force his love upon any one.

I have witnessed over the coarse of my life that not all desire to know God or believe in Him, but I have also witnessed that those who do know and love God do not all desire to know him to the same degree.

To know God on ever deepening levels requires sacrifice and the level of sacrifice or “cost” so to speak, is different for everyone. The more you are willing to risk for His intimacy of heart the more you receive of it. (Luke 11:-13)

“Jehovah is near to those that are of a broken heart, and saves them that are contrite in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18

God is betrothed to the broken hearted. If you study all through the scriptures, anything great that God accomplished through a man or woman, the man or woman became broken. For when we are broken of our will and heart then God repairs it to reflect his Glorious image, bringing himself all the Glory and we truly care for the things that break his heart on a level that we could never achieve on our own. This makes it supernatural and spectacular.

How we handle our broken heart is what makes all of the difference. Everyone knows heartache and heartbreak, but some choose to be the Victor while others choose to be a Victim. Some choose to Overcome while others were overcome. Some still, determine they are to be the Winner (in the best regard) while others become the Whiner. Victor/Victim, Overcomer/overcame, Winner/Whiner. The choice is ours.

Choose the high road of the Overcomer, the Victor, The Champion who Overcame and was used to represent the Lords good Name.

Allow God to come in and clear some clutter, organize the house, and make clean cuts while mending and bandaging where needed. God is building His House and selecting His team to go out and help others who alone cannot do it alone or don’t know of this Great God we serve. Be patient and remember that any team and person is only as strong as the weakest link. Don’t be the weak link! God is your Champion of Heart and will surround you with Champions like-minded to you!

Overcome by the Blood of the Risen One.

~Nicole

“You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words, which I instruct to you this day, shall be in your heart. And you shall explain them to your sons. And you shall meditate upon them sitting in your house, and walking on a journey, when lying down and when rising up. And you shall bind them like a sign on your hand, and they shall be placed and shall move between your eyes. And you shall write them at he threshold and on the doors of your house. And when the Lord your God will have led you into the land, about which he swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and when he will have given to you great and excellent cities, which you did not build; houses full of goods, which you did not amass; cisterns, which you did not dig; vineyards and olive groves, which you did not plant; and when you will have eaten and been satisfied: take care diligently, lest you forget the Lord, who led you away from the land of Egypt, from the house of servitude. You shall fear the Lord your God, and you shall serve him alone, and you shall swear by his name.”

Deut. 6:5-14
