Back Forty For Glory

Posted in Devotional, Inspirational tagged , , , , , , , , , at 7:55 am by Broken & Brave

Noah was on the back forty talking to God…

What is the back forty?

back forty noun

Definition of back forty

: a remote and uncultivated or undeveloped piece of land of indefinite size (as on a farm)

Because of the nature of Noah’s Intimacy with Heaven he was immune to the commentary of his peers. It may be true he didn’t like it, but it didn’t waiver or move him to unmove what God had asked him to move. So he moved…the comfort zone of every human on the planet. Figuratively and then literally! And all of Heaven and earth moved with him.

What if…

What if Noah only obeyed God once he understood the request?

What if Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego decided to bow before the idol to spare themselves, but vowed to not do so in their heart?

What if Elijah stayed in a cave instead of going to Jezebel?

What if Mary said no to the Angel of the Lord? What if Jesus got down off of His Cross and said, “that’s all for me. This is too hard and it doesn’t make sense.”

What if…

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is a God who delights in Displaying His power and Creative Miracles. The Who’s Who of Heaven looks down on you and wants to display His power in and through your life. He still has power to roll a stone, break every mold and He still asks us to live by Faith. If we can figure all of His Precepts out and calculate His ways…well, He wouldn’t really be a God worth Worshipping.

Trust Him with your life even when His lead is full of Mystery. His Timing, His Path and your Victory will always Shine through and He will get the glory.

You can trust Him!

So get out your plow, get to that secret place of harmony with heaven—you’re own personal back forty. Block out the noise, dig deep and do like Noah did.

He won’t give you a task you aren’t capable to grab and make into a masterpiece for His Glory. You’ve got just the right size hands for the job. So build it…they will come, just like Noah.

~Nicole 🌈

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

You’ve been graced to run this race–the Victory is yours to take! With it come spoils and a prize! Rise!!!♥️🌹

Power of Your Path

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , at 12:59 pm by Broken & Brave

“Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives–especially the ability to prophesy.” 1 Cor. 14:1
I’ve been writing the last few days on the theme of prophesy and what it means to decision make and act on future not circumstances. Walking out God’s prophetic anointing on your life will require some grit and maybe just maybe more than just a little bit of it. But is it truly risky to trust God and follow His lead?
A number of years ago I had a woman tell me I had a lot of faith. But that’s not where her sentence ended. She proceeded  to add a “but”…”But I don’t want that kind of faith because then I’d have to act on it.”

I guess this is the Beauty of God. We can have as much or as little of Him as we desire. He is a Gentleman. But His purposes prevail. When He has a call or plan He will shape and shift your circumstances to cause you to yield. I personally think it takes more faith to NOT trust God and follows his lead. That is the greater risk because you May be acting outside His blessing without even knowing it. No thank you. Though following God may lead down paths you would have never treaded on your own—you eventually discover those paths are carved in gold and you find a joy inside has grown you’ve never before known. When God ties your heart to something nothing can break it and you can’t shake it.

Does it all sound a bit odd to you? Really?
Just look at the life of Noah. His story is found in the Bible Book of Genesis.
God spoke it.
He believed it.
It conceived something great in his heart and soul.
He began to do what was required to make the dream a reality.
I imagine he was asked thousands of times what he was doing.
What did he say?
Every time he spoke of it he was casting vision for the people.
No one saw his vision or received it…until the rain came.
There are countless examples of modern day people who lived a life full of success that was birthed out of deep duress. They believed in the dream and pursued it with their everything. They told others what they saw for their future, they prophesied giving life to the vision, where they were going…they knew with all their heart it was a future worth knowing.
Your future is inside of you. It is up to you to hone your focus. Be decided. Get Intentional. Purpose your choices. Take action steps…and have a nearly blind ambition to achieve what you were placed on this planet to do. YOU are a Planet Shaker and the Kingdom of Heaven just may be counting on you. You’ve got tremendous Legacy within you.
                   You are Prophetic!
“By faith Noah, having been divinely instructed concerning the things not yet seen, having been moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.”
Hebrews 11:7

Sometimes We Miss…

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , at 9:39 am by Broken & Brave

Broken & Brave

We are all learning every day how to lean on God’s Big Broad shoulders a little bit better.

A few years back I was getting a manicure. I went to a salon that was by my sons school. Now, I may be one of the most loyal people you would ever know. I have a gal I go to FAITHFULLY for many, many years. But I was in a hurry and thought I would make an exception for the sake of my schedule. I had used this salon once in the past and knew others who did. But the gal I requested wasn’t available and they referred me to someone else.

As I sat the tech began removing my polish, filing my nails, etc.—you probably are aware of the routine.  But something shifted. I began to feel and overwhelming discomfort of the Holy Spirit. It grew stronger and stronger and I felt as though the Lord were leading me to get up and leave. But I was right in the middle of a file. How embarrassing to just interrupt and leave. Would I cause a scene? Maybe I was wrong? So I debated and then didn’t do it. I stayed. Guess what happened? The manicurist poked me with a tool by mistake and the tool must of had bacteria because I got a horrible infection in one of my fingernails. It took almost six months to restore itself. God was trying to protect me and I missed the clue.

Now, if you rummage through my blogs you will find I have done many spine chilling acts of faith. I’ve paid someone else’s mortgage instead of my own. We’ve quit jobs. We drove cross country with no money. And the stories are abundant and many and I haven’t even written about them all. They are almost all financial. They are also ongoing. I have about four big step of faith part the Red Sea things cooking right now. I’ve been clinging to Phil. 4:6-7 hard!

So why in the world was it so hard for me that day to say I changed my mind to a nail appointment? I have no idea. I still have no idea. But I use this little story to refresh you with the fact that we all miss it. Learn to let go and forgive yourself. Get over it. Learn from it.

One day we can move mountains, the next we feel we’ve been buried by one. I think it’s more the consistent application over time and not quitting that measures our growth.

The growing and development of extraordinary faith is for the spirit what an intense workout, beyond your ability, would be for the body. It hurts even if it’s good for you.

So you’ve gotta breathe. You’ve got to take in more of the oxygen of prayer and praise just as you would breathe heavier while exercising.

This is how we should all be, just likes babes;

expecting…(inhale, again)—

all things good from the Father above. His love for you  supersedes any fear you could ever contain. If you could only just believe and trust him just a little bit more each and every day.

How beautiful…

I know it’s not easy. Despite the abundance of breath-taking, blog worthy stories the Lord has loaded into my life, I still have to manage my decision to abide in His Grace and Faith every day. I have to remind myself that He is Trustworthy—

I  Can Trust Him.

I WILL Trust in Him!

I am believing  for the extraordinary to unfold in your life. You believe it, too.

Can’t wait to hear from you. Maybe you can comment something extraordinary the Lord has done for you or what you’d like prayer for today in my comment thread? It would be an honor to serve and encourage you.

You’re life beautiful—

That’s just the way God made you.

So take it in. Focus on the moments. Crush your fears while His Strength elevates your soul.

I think you’re going to make it.

Pure Gold.

The Promise

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , at 5:45 am by Broken & Brave

The “Pinky Promise”…

6256B089-F9A8-4013-ADD6-D1DFB17A5A85“As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.” 1Samuel 17:48

God tends to have a preference for the Impossible. That’s where He likes to work. The impossible seems to be His specialty. In fact, He does His BEST work when the odds are stacked against us.

David met up with a giant.
Moses opposed the leader of Egypt.
Daniel prayed when He was told not to. Esther stepped into territory she wasn’t allowed.

Ruth forsook her birthright for the Identity of God through Naomi. She stepped foot on the threshing floor and received for herself a Kinsman Redeemer named Boaz who is a foreshadow of Christ.

Elijah retrieved an axe head from the waters deep with a spoken command(because sometimes our trials help us stay SHARP!).

The Israelites wandered the wilderness, but while in the wilderness they witnessed and received countless miracles so big they had to be seen to become believed.

Walls falling by shouting at them?

Meat falling from the sky?

Water gushing out of rocks?

Clouds for shade and fire by night for light?

And the biggest miracle of all came and is explained in the New Testament…a stone that rolled away to reveal and empty grave.

The Lamb of God had Overcome the Impossible!

How about you? What kind of miraculous provision has God brought to you? When was the last time you recapped your Victories and then declared to an Almighty God gratitude and belief that He can do it again…and again…and again? What weighs so heavy on you that you have forgotten the power of your first Love? Don’t you know that He’d move heaven and earth all over again for a closer talk with you? It’s True!

There is nothing that can separate you from His Love. You’ve been disappointed. Plans may have failed. It may seem like an enemy of your soul has prevailed. But God always speaks last and He always places you first upon His heart and His mind. His Love for you is unshakable. In fact, so deep are His thoughts toward you that you will never be forgotten. He is with you through it all, above all and He will take to your troubles a wrecking ball. You have more power of God in your little finger than the kingdom of darkness has over all the earth. You have keys to the kingdom and God gave them to you to use. So start shaking them! All of heaven will move off of its Throne to come to your aid.

God does not sleep nor does He slumber. His fire is full of zeal when you come to Him with an appeal. He will cancel every assignment of the enemy. So get ready! Declare the Impossible in your life!

Did I mention God specializes in the impossible? He does His best work when the odds are staked against you, so don’t lose heart…never lose heart. He is your Hope and will deliver you in less than a fortnight. ~Nicole

It’s the start to a brand new year and no doubt you’ve thought about what you might like to try and accomplish with it. Make your list, but don’t forget to allow the Lord to sift through it and move you in His timing and direction. He’s got some ambitious plans for you, too, and it will require focused attention to details when the demands of life and others begin to pull on you.

You can’t be everything to everyone, but you can be something to someone.

It only takes one to make a real difference.

By Faith…

Abraham knew he had a greater blessing—packed up and followed Gods lead.

By Faith…

Moses received his anointing and call of God and treaded a dusty wilderness to return to the Kingdom he fled.

By Faith…

Noah built the first ever boat without there being any need of one.

By Faith…

David slay Goliath and chopped off that giants head.

By Faith…

Mary agreed and humbled herself to receive a gift, though condemned it was the greatest gift to men.

By Faith…

Mary the sister to Martha, chose to put the chores aside and believe His Presence was the most worthy prize.

By Faith…

By Faith…

By Faith…

I have lived most of my adult life by faith. Once you step out into its waters you cannot go back. There are so many reasons why you can’t go back. It is first of all a Biblical principle—

“But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10:38

and a practical one. Once you grow in this arena it’s like giving up a blessing that has been found to shrink back. So you must be decided.  Faith is like a muscle, hard earned progress that will atrophy without use.

Though God has a way of leaving me wide eyed and mystified—living by faith has not been easy. But I will say, the levels of Peace that surround a Faith Lived life is extraordinary and constant. And the stories, God sure does create some amazing stories!

By faith we sold our home well below market value to a couple who wouldn’t have otherwise been able to buy their first home.

By Faith we didn’t put the house on the market—we believed the buyers would come knock on our front door asking to buy (we didn’t know who specifically just a promise of the Lord that they would come). And they did. 3.5 years after receiving the Word of the Lord to my soul.

By faith God promised me a new home and He began to drop me clues. I’d dream it and He would bring revelation regarding details of it via the Holy Spirit Word of Knowlege. I knew by these clues with so much detail that I knew if  I actually saw the house I would know it. And that’s what happened.

By faith we didn’t call the real estate company on the for sale sign as instructed by the Holy Spirit. We believed in faith God would connect us directly to the owner even though we had no clue who owned it. The house had been vacant for years. But God had clues and we didn’t have to do a thing, the Lord dumped the man right in our lap! We’d been driving by the home declaring God’s promise over the property and when we made a second lap a gardener emerged on the road and said he noticed us looking at the house. He offered us a tour and gave us unsolicited information about the owner and why he was selling. Then he pulled out the owners personal business card and mobile number and gave it to us.

By faith we believed and within a few weeks we already had keys to the front door. We knew before all of this God was promising to give us keys by Labor Day. We received the keys on August 28. Only God can do that.

By faith we drove across country without a dime in our pocket (not any credit cards) and arrived home with a few hundred dollars to spare. We never asked one person for money. I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed begging for bread ( Psalm 37:25) was the scripture the Lord gave me when he asked me to chose to drive cashless instead of using the plane ticket I already had in my hands. That particular story I remind myself of frequently when God asks us to do absurd things with our money to build the kingdom and he always stretches our dollar amount—by Faith. This particular story, God uses it to explode my faith in His power to provide, but also I have countless stories of Divine Appointments along the way. Supernatural and permanent connections to other believers were made across the country on that trip. Seeds deposited for th future.

What if the Church grew to such a level of faith we not only easily have our 10th, but we lived on the 10th and gave 90? Because when God calls you to that level of sacrificial giving you know the surplus is ample. It’s like a financial and resource well that works the best when it’s pumped—the overflow just continues to grow.

By faith.

By faith.

By faith.

I have countless more stories of leaps of faith and sometimes they don’t look so heroic, but more like crawls or puddle jumps. But that matters not. What matters is that when you exercise your faith and pay attention to the clues and signs around you, you won’t miss the highlighted things God is trying to shine in your life. You’ll pick up on His clues, and you will move.

So what kind of Faith is it going to take for you to move your mountain? What steps of faith will be required of you to fulfill all God has for you in 2019? Move through the fire into the Flood. He’s got clues for you. Give him a clue that you are ready to move, live and receive all He has for you,

By Faith.

Rise up!

Goodness and Mercy have come and they carry good gifts, but you must receive them…

By Faith.

Keep Your Fire🔥 Burning…

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , at 7:32 am by Broken & Brave

‪Sometimes in life we have to be unafraid to let our heart show through. This is where true human connection resides. This is where true spiritual intimacy begins.‬

Most walk around with a veil over their heart. Some know it and put it there intentionally because of past painful experiences. While others build up a slow crusting of the softness of the heart over time. Like a callous formed from year after year of mistreatment or harsh conditions.

We see it’s evidence in our society. People are not able to look each other in the eye. They are shy and tend to stay away from the uncomfortable. Others recluse themselves to their homes, intense focus in their jobs over relationships, dismal lack of church attendance or efforts to connect with the Almighty. Many believe God has forgotten them altogether. Doubt creeps in of His very existence.

Can I speak to you for a moment? Can I encourage your soul? May I offer you a drink of Living Water?

God has not missed it. He did not forget you.
When you feel weak, He is Strong. When you feel you’re being held captive by life’s circumstances, you have not escaped his radar.
When you think you can’t, He is working through you and moving you to “can”.
When you feel discouraged, His love will encourage.
When you feel you’ve no one to lean on who can shoulder your burdens—His shoulders are wide and can handle your heart, your hurts, your woes and worries.
He is a quiet listener and then deposits your words in His heart for safe keeping.

He is Valiant.

He is a Conqueror.

He is Faithful.

He is never forgetful of your promises, but always forgetting your stumbles. He is…He is…He is.

He is all of this and more.

You’ve got to hold onto Hope.
The Hopeful are powerful.
Do not let the enemy diminish your Joy.
Do not let the Enemy cause you to waiver.
God doesn’t love you because He has to. He loves you because He wants you.
You may never feel equipped enough. That’s why the righteous walk by faith.

So keep the Faith!

Every cloud has a sliver lining.
Life is what you make of it.

Make it beautiful 🙂

True rest has to do with trust.
When we trust God for the day to day—moment by moment, we find our mind, our heart, our will in unison with His.

No matter the situation or circumstance we trust God to bless and protect and lift us up at His Appointed time.

You can rest in it.
You can trust it! ~Nicole🌹

to give a concrete form to; express, personify, or exemplify in concrete form: to embody an idea in an allegorical painting.

We all stand for something in the depths of our heart, mind and soul. What is it you stand for? How does what you stand for exude from your soul?

If your soul could speak what would it say? How would others relate or be moved to breathe more deeply by the words it would speak? Would those words be spoken soft or sweetly? What would they evoke in the heart, mind and soul of others?

Your life is a message and it just might be providing a road map for others. You have influence every single day. You have the ability to control how you think, what you do and what you say. You can know that everywhere you go you are a walking sign board for the Lord.

You can make a fortune owning billboards.

…You know, those tall walls of advertisements you see on highways and around town. We know a fellow who purchased tons of them in Vegas and is now one of the richest men in that town. He rents those boards and makes a mint so others can use them to influence with marketing…buy this…do that…go there.

But you, my friend, are the very same thing. You have influence. You can stand tall and know who you are in Christ no matter the dimensions of your physical stature or positional stature. The greater the platform the greater the reach, but this shouldn’t stop anyone from knowing the intense influence they possess in every day life. Your life has merit and influence.

How can I influence?

By doing what you need to do with superb effort and heart. By smiling and showing yourself friendly to strangers and familiar faces. By displaying kindness, service, sacrifice, encouragement to whoever God puts in your path. As His grace emits from you you are illuminating the path, the heart, the hope of others. You may never know the Power your words, your disposition, your pleasantries contain.

Never think too little of yourself and never think yourself too little. Walk meekly, with humility and all the while a stoic sense of duty to represent the King well. He will shine through you so the world around you can know Him.

Embody your Savior…you add a certain flavor to this world that couldn’t be the same without you! ~Nicole💗

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

Eyes Wide…

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , at 8:44 am by Broken & Brave

“I could do it with my eyes closed”

Have you ever heard this expression or maybe even said it yourself? It implies a certain level of mastery at any given skill, art or ability. It suggests the activity is so second nature to a person they can do it well without even seeing what they are doing. They feel it. They know it. They own it.

How about trusting God?

Trusting God is a bit like doing something with your eyes shut. You can’t always see what He is up to. You may not understand what he wants you to do. The directions may not be clear. So you try to comply, but maybe it feels a bit like your hands are tied so you’ve just got to trust.

So don’t rush. Don’t force something. Just appreciate the Lord’s timing. He will encourage you through. He will support you. And despite Him being Creator of the Universe and all—He will serve you. He is he is humble and gentle—
Kindness is His mantle.

He’s just awesome like that.

So practice faith today into a well developed art even if you must do it with your eyes shut.

He is a light to your feet and a lamp to your path. He knows the road to go and every curve of that road. Every bump, hill and valley. He can navigate it all.

His eyes are always open and always watching you with faithfulness so true.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

2 Cor. 5:7
