You Are A Gift

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
James 1:17

“Lord, Let my words be Christ’s potent drug that reaches into and emerses every narrow crevice of man’s heart. That we might all be intoxicated for HIM and in HIm…

The ONE, holy amd true. Amen.”

There really aren’t any words to describe my heart for God and the depth of my friendship with him. However, I have agreed with the Almighty to try to convey everything I feel, everything I hear, everything I know through the one vehicle I have…my pen. My pen has been and will always be directly connected to my heart and my heart directly connected to Heaven. It has been a quite fabulous conduit of hope and blessing. For years I kept this little gift all to myself and I loved it. With the convincing of the Holy Spirit, I came to realize He wanted to use my Voice, my pen, to scribe into the hearts of men.

I know with God’s guidance and help I can effectively love an entirely wounded and limping Bride. I aim to love hard with long-suffering that those who ache, those who mourn, those who fail to find relief for their every emotional, spiritual and physical discomfort would give glory to God for I came bearing relief. God and I both know I keep no glory for myself. It has always and always will be HIM.

He is a God full of good gifts.
He delights to watch your life unfold, just like a Father who watches His child unwrap their gift.

You are a gift. Allow your heart to become wrapped up in Him.

He loves you.

“The world does not need more Christian literature. What the world needs is more Christians writing good literature.” C.S. Lewis

Soul Garden

Posted in Inspirational tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:05 am by Broken & Brave

The Lords heart is like a Garden.
The words He floods my heart with are likened to a lush and fragrant Garden.
The war room of heaven is a Garden.
God is a Master Gardener and He tills the soil of my heart.
He removes every root and branch that does not belong.
He fertilizes the soil with His Goodness, Mercy, Kindness and Love.
Nobody has ever noticed me like my Heavenly Father.
No one has ever made me feel at home and like I belong and am where I am supposed to be like He does.

I love the Garden.

I long for the Garden.

He clips my flowers and displays my heart like a bloom in a vase and then He showcases my love for Him with the fluid of my pen.

All I’ve ever had to give Him was my heart and He took it– and though to me it did not seem like much,
to Him it was all He needed.

I have obeyed you fully Lord.
I have walked in your ways and done according to your plans for me.
All I can be…
is all of you in me.
I am a Garden,
may others be refreshed in my presence.

Appointed with Purpose

“Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.” Psalm 63:3

Has your heart ever been deeply touched? If so you know, it infuses and sense of loyalty and hope like nothing else. When your heart has been deeply touched by God you become aware in ways you never experienced before. It’s like a door to the depths of the soul opens and you breath deeper, experience more richly and everything is seen vividly that was darkness before. With such loyalty comes tremendous responsibility. Whatever passions and pursuits God has inspired you to pursue…do it with every ounce of being within you.

Stay the course! Do exactly what you know is necessary and required for you to be the light God has called you to be. To be all He deemed was supposed to be in your life. Your destiny is approved by Heaven, blood bought and sold at a ransom untold. So be bold!

RISK more than others think is safe, CARE more than others think is wise, Dream more than others think is practical and EXPECT more than others think is possible! ~Nicole

“Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Charmed or Favored?

Posted in true story, Uncategorized tagged , , , at 6:32 am by Broken & Brave

As the body thirsts for water, so my soul will thirst for you…

Since I was a youth people, friends, say things to me such as, “you have a charmed life” or “everything always works out for you”. I guess I never spent much time thinking about it until these statements became a regular pattern in my young adult life. My life is not “charmed”. But what I do have is “Favor”. The unmerited favor of God. We are all spiritual beings, thirsting for more than what we have. I know the extremely wealthy who thirst for more. I know the beautiful, the successful who still feel a void. Soul searchers knowing not what they hunger for. I do not profess to be more or have more than any other. My thoughts of self tend to be minimal. But here’s what I do know. There is a Creator above…shaper of the soul…comforter of hearts…who longs to bestow favor upon you. I never asked God for anything other than to know Him, feel Him, draw near to Him. Seek the One and find True Love. -Nicole

You Are Enough

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , , at 3:22 am by Broken & Brave

Change on big scales will always start with something small….yourself.

Though you are created, built, wired to be BIG and GREAT, on the scale of eternity we are but small. Most feel too small for their choices to make a difference or lasting impact. But this is not true. It all starts with what you do on the inside of who you are. It starts in the mirror.

I don’t consider myself a great writer. I don’t have mastery knowledge of the English language or the literary works of humanity. I haven’t published a New York Times Best Seller (yet😏).
Let me tell you what I do have…

When I was young I could write, but I didn’t know I could write. The pen seemed to flow readily for me and I received attention from one college professor and peers in that one class where we had to write and review each other’s writing. I guess that’s all it took to encourage me. I didn’t take that class until the spring quarter of my senior year of college. Talk about the 11th hour! Prior to that I was aware that anytime I could write and assignment/paper or could write the answers on the test (versus scantron multiple choice) I did well. This is about as much confidence as I had in this regard.  I was still fairly oblivious that I could write. Why? I didn’t know it came easily to me, I had nothing to compare to.

I had no self confidence. I struggled with self confidence my entire life. I was quiet, meek and unsure. I was afraid to try because I felt I did everything wrong or not well enough. I feared failure. I also feared attention, of any kind, positive or negative.

Until God stepped in and changed all of that.

I still don’t have a lot of confidence in Nicole…but I do have tremendous confidence in God and how He feels about me. God Confidence made the difference-it created His strength and boldness inside of me.

I know that greater than any combination of words to flow from my heart is His Heavenly Kiss on the tip of the ink as I scratch and make a mark. He takes what I write and uses it to prick the hearts of men/women.

Self confidence relies on “self”, but God confidence is all confidence in God and the belief that if you do what He asks you to do and go where He asks you to go and say what He asks you to say, He is there with you making his way manifest. God confidence.

What is it that you must do? What edifies you heart and soul and flows from within and makes you feel exuberant and energized like a kid? Whatever God has called you to do, you can do it because God does it with you. All you must do is believe how He feels and thinks about you and then take the steps to follow through. Engage yourself to your own destiny! Great is His Faithfulness. ~Nicole

“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.”
