Never Had a Better Friend

The Lord has striped me in many ways.

Yet, He preserves each and every one of my days.

He took away so much that mattered to me

and in the process grafted me more tightly into His Tree.

He drew me near and showered me with blessings from above.

He gave me increase in my capacity to Love.

He showed me His devotion and care

Yet I know He will not only stop there.

He took me as a seed and planted me in the Earth.

He provided the water of Salvation in Jesus

giving me second birth.

He rose from the grave and captured my soul.

So who am I to complain or be afraid of any foe?

He crowned me with splendor and His Grace crowns my head.

He asked me to walk this earth in an effort to revive the dead.

So many are abandoned and left without Hope.

Without Jesus they are left with no strength to cope.

They turn to drugs, violence, suicide and sin

Never gaining the purity of heart that can free them from within.

Who am I to complain when troubles cross my path?

For I have access to the very Throne of the One giving me life that will last.

Blessed Jesus, my Savior, Companion, my Friend

Who could turn from you, ignoring the battle within?

There is a day to day struggle that occurs

With in the hearts of all men.

Without Jesus, we are doomed to failure

in a battle that has no end.

Seek Jesus, the Savior, a Friend to all man.

Only He can take a shattered life, put it back together

And make it whole once again.

Seek, Jesus, the Savior, who was crucified and rose again.

He knows of your suffering, your loneliness and can take it from you, putting your misery to end.

Seek Jesus! Seek Jesus! I have never known another to be such a great Friend.

Take A Bite!

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 5:44 am by Broken & Brave

There is an old saying that goes, “How do you eat an elephant?”

The answer, “One bite at a time.”

What does this old idiom mean? It actually has nothing to do with elephants at all. It means when a task, trouble or struggle seems too big, too ominous you need to stop looking at the size of the task and break it down into small and manageable increments. Anything can overwhelm, but when we take every day as they come, knowing full well that God is measuring your Desire to be more like Him and if He knows you are honestly trying, He is more than pleased. Could you imagine on the day of your Salvation Jesus giving you a Diploma and saying, “Congratulations, now from this day forward, you will look exactly like me, talk exactly like me and walk, exactly like me…no exceptions.” Not at all! If that were so it would defeat the entire purpose for the Cross! He knows we aren’t perfect or flawless. We will never stop making mistakes because we are human and failed by Adam’s original sin. It’s ok. So embrace all the Teacher has for you each and every day. You are a winner in His book. He made you and is very proud of all the Creative Wonder and Ability He has established in you. When you feel discouraged, or hard on yourself, remember my words. You are beautiful through and through and Jesus just can’t take his eyes off of you…

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

Heart of a Champion

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:37 am by Broken & Brave

To Champion a heart is not about how we feel, but it is always about how we plan to make others feel.

I think that’s pretty awesome!

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

Bathe your heart in thanksgiving and perfume your soul with Hope. It will give off the most pleasing aroma that makes the world want to know!

People all around us are desperate for Hope and desire freedom from depression or sadness of heart. They long for True Peace, but far to many are eluded by it.  Pay attention and see who God has maybe sent you to encourage! You may just possess just the right amount of blessing that adds flavor to the lives of others like a tantalizing dressing to the fruits of the spirit in this life!

Rise up and count yourself blessed!

God will give Himself no rest until He sees you through all that puts your heart, mind and soul to do. He sees the stellar Champion within you.

There is no greater Champion Builder than God Himself! He is with you, encouraging you as you go.

So rise up, Champion, and take this day! …

Its yours!

Run, Pray & Find Your Way

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , , , , at 7:48 am by Broken & Brave

Everyone who knows me knows my passion for health, fitness and nutrition and their impact on quality of life. I know it was God who stirred this passion and purpose in me. I didn’t play a lot of sports growing up. I wasn’t on a bunch of teams. No cheesy photos of me in a uniform. I cheered throughout high school and swam one year on swim team to stay in shape. But this deep desire was in me to be well, eat well, do well. I had no outside influence for this. My family does not share my passion for health and fitness. Not a coach, mentor or teacher telling me of my potential. I was almost always picked last or next to last for everything. My drive was all God, all spoken internal. I was 13 years old and was already thinking about lifelong wellness and disease prevention. Only God can do that. What 13 year old thinks of such things on their own? I never had mentors to pull me under their wing. In fact, most of my entire life I had the opposite. I was told I didn’t measure up, I wasn’t good enough, smart enough or didn’t do it right. For a long time I believed it.

I love to sprint for cardiovascular fitness and to stay lean. Almost year round I will squeeze in a quick 10 minute sprint routine at the start of my day. Most days I now use the track at my kids school. The grounds keepers at the school have a little girl who is sometimes there waiting for her parents before being taken to school. Our first encounters with her she was bashful and hid away when she saw me. But over time she popped herself out to be seen, but still, very far away. But little by little she would come watch me run.

One morning, maybe a month ago, I got to the track to feast my eyes on a little 8 year old girl, who isn’t in the best of shape or weight, out on the track running her sprints.

Every sprint I’ve ever run, every bit of effort to encourage another I’ve ever given, was in that moment completely worth it. I had prayed just that morning if God would please use me that day to inspire another life higher. I specifically prayed for that little girl and that she would be inspired by me. God is so good, so faithful, so kind. I still pray for that little one, she talks my ear off now, and that she would find her drive and live her life to its fullest. Blessings for a glorious day. Your life an Inspired Asset of Heaven.

As we run, we pray and God makes the way.
