Level Up!

Crowded Out To Level Up!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,“ Hebrews 12:1

Have you ever done any running? Ever entered a race? I’m not a runner per se. I go for runs and get exercise by running—but I am not a runner. My oldest son is a runner. I ran with him once. I loved it, but also felt bad for my son at the same time. He was kind and gentle as always, but I could see he had to hold back so I could keep up. Even his slowing down for me was a greater cadence than my pace was used to. Running with him really worked me out and challenged me to level up. If this wasn’t a challenge enough, he also took me on a different path that was a good 1.5 miles longer than the 2.25 path I was used to. He pushed me…in the best of ways.

Our run was probably his warm up.

Sometimes deleterious things happen to us that push us down, push us back and crowd us out. Perhaps a lot of people can relate with that, especially right now given the current events of the world.

I have a meek and not so competitive personality so I have tremendous experience with being crowded out and pushed back my entire life. But something happened in me. God saw my heart and what was happening to me and He used it. He used it to stoke a fire in me and challenge me to fight for my place in history. God knows my heart after all. He knows I could care less about glam and spotlights and my name in lights. He knows how I please easily and don’t ask for much. So He polished a crown and set it aside for me. He surrounded me with a great cloud of witnesses, too. They cheer me on and they cheer for you. So pick yourself up. Life has maybe knocked you a few blows. The world owes us nothing, but God owns everything and He sees your strength and wants you to rise up, persevere, and run the race to win!

Level up and let yesterday’s best become tomorrow warm up!  It’s ok to compete for your space in this race called life. God will surround you with people who love you, celebrate you and are happy to see you win at life. Smile big and let’s get after it.

Your best is yet to come!

Get Fat!

Posted in health and wellness tagged , , , , , , , , , at 10:50 am by Broken & Brave

No one wants to be fat, but what are fats and why does our body actually need it?

Fats are organic molecules. They are comprised of hydrogen joined together into long groupings called hydrocarbons. How these chains combine and interact determines the type of fat they are. A fatty acid is a simple unit of fat.

Types of fats include:

SATURATED (solid or semi solid at room temperature)

•Butter

•Animal fat

•Tropical oils like coconut oil

UNSATURATED (liquid at room temperature)

(Monounsaturated)

•olive oil

•avocado

•peanuts

•pecans

•almonds

(Polyunsaturated)

•flax

•fish

•hemp

•canola

•safflower

But let’s focus on essential fatty acids (Omega 3, 6, and 9).

Fat in the diet has a few major roles:

1. Provides energy.

2. Make and balance hormones .

3. Formation of cell membranes .

4. Forms brain and nervous system .

5. Transports fat-soluble vitamins.

6. Provides a few fatty acids we cannot make on our own.

-Linoleic Acid (omega-6) and Linolenic Acid (omega-3)

Do you take Omega Fatty acids?

Here are some benefits;

🐠supports normal blood flow

🐠helps regulate blood pressure

🐠excellent for neuropathic support (brain food!)

🐠recommended for pregnant & nursing women to prevent birth defects and maximize fetal brain development.

Research shows DHA and EPA will help maximize IQ potential!

I took it with all my babies and they all take it now!

Omega fatty acids also aid in healthy weight management and will assist the bodies ability to reduce cholesterol.

So what are you waiting for? This is a simple way to improve your health and be good to your heart. Having a balance of these essential fatty acids in our diet is critical for overall quality of health. So let’s get some fat! And don’t believe the myth that eating fat will make you fat. It’s all about balance.

Rest & Digest

Posted in health and wellness tagged , , , , , , , , , at 4:34 pm by Broken & Brave

Rest & Digest

When we have too much norepinephrine in our system we are in “fight or flight” mode. This neurotransmitter inhibits digestion. Our gut needs to be at rest to digest.
In this time of extended stress and uncertainty another way you can boost your immune system is to actively focus on relaxation before eating.

Currently, with this quarantine and the corona virus (COVID-19), we are all a little bit in a state of perpetual flight or fight.

Try not to stress eat

Instead, take some deep breathes before engaging in food. This action of purposeful breathing will help release a variety of neurotransmitters that create a calm and relaxed gut. Rest and digest. This is important. The more relaxed your GI is the more nutrition you will absorb from your food, the more your immune system will be strong and powerful.

Breath slowly.
Take some deep breathes.
Think of something pleasant.
Relax yourself.
Enjoy your meal.

Immune Strong we can beat this Coronavirus.

**Taking probiotics will also help gut biome.

Hope this is helpful! And most of all, remain positive. Your mind is powerful. Teach it to obey you! ~Nicole

It is heavy on my mind and heart that countless numbers of you are right now battling guilt, shame and un-forgiveness for yourself.

Forget about it! One breath of God is all it takes to wipe your stain away. Receive. Sometimes you still have to make things right with others, but God’s Grace once again is scandalous and his ability to restore and make like new is incredible.

You are worthy.
You are loved.
You are joyful.
You are strong.
You are brave.

So take courage!
A tremendous amount of love has been invested in you!

You are an incredible gift. Yes, YOU! So receive for yourself the same beauty others see in you. You are exquisite. ~Nicole🤎

Collagen

Posted in health and wellness, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 6:32 am by Broken & Brave

Atherosclerosis or ‘Hardening of the arteries’ is an inflammatory problem of the vasculature where lipids are oxidized in the vascular wall. This leads to loss of function, potential occlusion of the artery or plaque rupture & thrombosis.
High cholesterol diets can promote these events. In this study a STATIN was compared to the red carotenoid, astaxanthin, as well as lycopene. Astaxanthin was very effective, in limiting the inflammation, as well as vascular damage and lowered lipid levels in the blood.
Dietary intake is limited for astaxanthin: it is normally found in salmon but at low levels. So here is a classic case for dietary supplementation to take advantage of the remarkable benefits.”

Exercise, eating healthy, Whole Foods and drinking plenty of water are key foundations to youthful and vibrant skin that can endure and last. As we age collagen begins to break down…we lose about 1% a year. Yikes! But we can take it all in stride and protect our collagen structure with quality supplementation. Many brands in the market, but I have chosen the recommendation of my friend Dr. Stanley Dudrick. Dr. Dudrick is recognized as one of the top 50 most influential physicians in American history. Dr. Dudrick invented TPN (intravenous nutrition), life flight and has researched collagen for many years. According to him, our entire body has a collagen skeleton. We often think of our skin for collagen, but all of you is collagen! So what better way to protect it than by practicing the basics and adding a quality supplement.

My choice, Dr. Dudrick’s choice, is Glow from AdvoCare. Click the link and check it out! Let me know how you like it!

Start Strong Finish Stronger!

Posted in Inspirational, leadership tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:44 am by Broken & Brave

Many people start strong, have stellar intentions and are highly excited and motivated to do great, to become great and even a pure intention to bring great glory and blessing to God. But what I have observed and am painfully aware of is that not everyone finishes strong who started strong. See—just like the Israelites in the wilderness—it is the long strength in between, when things get tough, rough or lean that there becomes a separation between those with deep conviction of heart and stoic grit to get after it and those who gain, complain and remain and don’t finish the race.

When God makes extraordinary promise He puts His stamp of love on it, but He rarely tells you what has to come in between to properly prepare the conditions of the scene and our hearts for the responsibility the blessing will bring. God is always actively preparing me and preparing you by the tests and trials we walk through. Will we be faithful? Will we be stoic? Will we possess and broad smile and winning attitude? Will we do everything without complaining?

Murmuring got the Israelites into a lot of trouble. I believe a big reason why, when the Israelites were to take the fortress of Jericho, they weren’t to speak at all as they walked around the walls. God knew it would only take one to speak a complaint or a fearful or doubtful thought to crumble the courage of the entire body of people. He needed what started strong to remain strong.

How about you? Do you have days of discouragement and doubt? Sometimes we have confidence in God’s promises, but our desire to follow through grows thin. Those are the days you have to dig deeper, maybe even lose a little sleep, just to spend ample time sitting at your Maker’s feet allowing Him to literally care for your cares and encourage your soul like a parent holding their child.

When I think about the number of people who have passed through my life because they quit—it is a painful thing. Many a people I loved dearly walked away simply because they just didn’t have the stoic faith to walk in extreme obedience to God. You can see the same thing in training others physically. All have goals, dreams and desires, but over time the crowd thins out and those with the deepest resolve and strength are the ones who keep going despite the odds against their success. Life happens—it what you do with the obstacles and how you handle the setbacks or delays.

A Champion doesn’t allow these things to derail them. They understand God might be using them to set a grander stage. The tougher the terrain, the longer the wait, the more the tide rises, the more evident it becomes who is really with you and who isn’t. Here’s what I know—God never quits. Every bump or hurdle He is right beside you helping you get over it. So whatever is holding you back, get over it! Gods got it and He’s got you, too.

Think of all the Israelites who never saw the promised land because they grumbled, complained, whined, doubted and quit. But God preserved a remnant and this remnant finished it and tasted and saw God’s Goodness to the end right smack dab in the center of a “land flowing with milk and honey”.

My experience has shown me over and over again that extreme obedience brings extreme blessing. We don’t obey for the blessing. We obey because we love God. When you love someone you want to please them. But God is good in tangible ways, too. So He reaches down for me and pulls me close. Sometimes the best analogy I can give of how He blesses me is a courtship. He is a beau wanting to impress me so He peacocks around and showers me with time, attention, blessings….my heart swoons for him, my Sacred Romance.

Extreme obedience brings extreme blessing.

Start Strong, Finish Stronger.

A Word Called Delighted

Posted in Inspirational tagged , , , , , at 5:01 am by Broken & Brave

He is a God rich in Universal Experiences. He puts His Hand to the plow and He tiles us until He knows that we are a Field of Delight worth the seed He intends for us. Because when God plants you somewhere you can guarantee He means to bring Choice Garden Leaf with hearty stem yet delicate petals—bearing the King succulent fruit that could win gold medals should you choose to enter it at the fair.

In the Harvest, in the Picking, He lavishes a love so strong on us, a blessing so deep—it quietly yet stoically reveals to our soul that not only does His Love Yield—but we were a field worth picking.

All in all, though some things must fall by the wayside and some relationships must die, God is yet reaching down without obtaining a single scratch on His Crown and communicating over and over again—

“I CHOOSE YOU”.

So let this serve as your reminder today:

You are exceptional.

God knew why he picked you all along.

You have a style and way all your own.

You are needed, right here, right now.

You have much to offer.

You are loved, cherished and greatly esteemed. God knew all of this when He created you.

So, cheers to you today! Be a wave of intentional blessing. Let everything you do, pursue, achieve, be done without a hint of murmuring…

Let it flow from the soul.

You are an inspiration of grace, you are luminous with hope and those who embrace the atmosphere around you are infused as well by vehicle of your heart and soul, mind and spirit. Believe it! ~Nicole
