A Message For Friends Feeling Blindsided by Life—

Uncertain times are a blessing in disguise. It is God’s way of giving us the opportunity to show Him we’re not just lip service. We really do trust Him!♥️

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

Just trust Him one day at a time.

That’s truly all He is asking you for.

Moment by moment.

Minute by minute.

Strength to strength.

Glory to glory.

He is writing you an ever powerful story!

You can trust Him!

He is the Source of All for All!

Absolute confidence in HIM!

You’re going to be just fine.

You just might be a Planet Shaker

I woke this morning with a very specific word flowing through my heart and my mind—

Champion, Difference Maker, Advocate—Ardent Defender of People and Purpose.

No matter what each individual life holds, It’s not in the easy Champions show their eagle feathers, it’s in the ditches, the trenches and in the just plain hard.

Rise up Champions!

You are alive in Christ.

God has a plan for your life.

The Spirit is large within you.

Show off those eagle feathers and be a Champion. Be a Defender just as I encourage you Christ intends to continue to defend you. Contend for the faith for you are here for such a time as this!

<Nicole 😉🙏🏼

God, forgive us for our lack of faith. Forgive us, we repent for every decision made that didn’t include you. Help us choose your path. Help us recognize truth. Help us hone our gaze and take our place beside your Throne–never above you, but always at your feet. Heal us now. Take a broken people and stand them up as your chosen vessels of hope. We are you collective and electric conduit of faith. You are always first and never the last. You sit on a Throne Eternal and you shall receive all the praise!

Now–this day, move us away from every detail of life that is derailed or spinning in circles. The only movement and momentum we will receive is that which propels us forward. For by your stripes, we are healed! Amen

Talk To Yourself!

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , at 6:08 am by Broken & Brave

My son Joel is an absolute character. His entire life he has been equipped with sarcasm and quick wit. He says the most hysterical things delivered in absolute matter of fact stoic way. When he was maybe 8 yrs. old we were driving home from school. He calls out to me from the back of the car that one day he’s going to get his drivers license and he will buy a motorcycle and a sports car. He believed it like it were already a given fact. He also believed he was going to have to give his sister a ride everywhere (that was the funny part—she is about 8 years older than him).

You have to think you’re successful to be successful.

A successful person has many attributes that set them apart from the unsuccessful person.

There have been countless books, seminars, motivational speeches and even more motivational speakers who will share with their own creative flair how you can be successful. It’s been done over and over again. As I think of it now I’m reminded of something. One of the great blessings of my life is that God has put me in positions over and over again where I am exposed to and receive abundant leadership and character development training. I’ve heard so many phenomenal and famous presenters over the decades that they all began to sound familiar because they, in essence, were saying the same thing.

It’s like when I was in school. In college you have to take all these electives and support and general electives to “help make you a more well rounded individual” in addition to the classes you need to study to earn that degree in a specialized area. But as I progressed through the program and got to the end of my college career it got easier not harder. Why? Because I was receiving the same information over and over applied in various ways to the point of mastery. I didn’t have to study as much for exams because I knew the content. I was proficient in what I went to school to learn. The same is true with any kind of teaching or training or skill set. The same thing is true for our spiritual trials. Just like the Israelites, how many laps do we really want to take anyway?

The more you practice, study, use the knowledge or ability via application, the better you become. You leave the training wheels behind and before long you are no longer a novice, but maybe even a bit of wisdom revolves around you.

So why talk about it here in my little blog? So many books, blogs, podcasts, seminars, etc. on the subject. Why here? Why now? Well, partly because I woke up thinking about it and it’s the word in my heart this morning. Because here is something else I know…

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

All the words in the world won’t matter until it is the right word in the right season.

So for you who read what I pen, just maybe God leaned this into my soul with His Holy Coal this morning just for you?

What makes one person apply it and do it and another stay stuck in old mindsets, patterns and habits? What defines the “I can’t” and “I won’t” crowd from the “I can” and “I will” crowd?

Belief. Always.

Last night I had a client who had to do something very hard the next day following a workout that left her very sore. It was something physical. She’s on the beginning leg of radical change on her health journey. The physical taxation was so hard all she could focus on was how difficult it was that she couldn’t do it well. I, on the other hand was elated with her. I told her how proud I was and how wonderful she had to dig deep because she did it! I felt God was really working in that situation for her. She just looked at me with a “really?” Kind of expression. I later told her:

All of us do better when we speak to ourselves instead of listening to ourselves.

You will always only be the sum of your most dominant thoughts. Because your thoughts shape your opinions and patterns and your patterns shape your words and your words shape your choices and your choices shape your life.

I was told the entire first half or more of my life that I wasn’t doing it right. Whether intentional or not, that was what I heard over and over again. And I believed it. But once God truly got a hold of me I shook off unbelief. It didn’t go away right away, but little by little over time it began to lose its grip and I kept going despite the pinch. I knew if it pinched, it meant he (the Enemy of my soul who comes straight from Sheol ) was losing his grip and I was gaining mine.

God’s got you in His Grip.

I have come to realize that how I do things may not be your way, it may not even be my preferred way, but if it’s God’s way then I’m ok. Everything will shake out alright for me. God’s got a special way of blessing us in spite of us! Because it’s not possible for us to do everything right. How refreshing!

So what do you believe?

Do you know your worth?

Do you know what your capable of?

Do you have any in-cling of an idea how powerful and uniquely specialized you are? You’ve got a DNA born special assignment from heaven. So shake off the nay saying self talk, critics and those who say you can’t, you won’t, or that you don’t do it right. Heavens got a different protocol and it looks out of sight. Ignite! I see Passion and Purpose all over you. That’s what I would say to you if I could!

Hold tight! Your future is mighty bright if you’d just believe it and step into the Light!

Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

Showers of Blessings—

Process and Success

Posted in Inspirational tagged , , , , , , , at 8:16 am by Broken & Brave

A few of my thoughts for PROCESS AND SUCCESS in 2019:

📌be intentional —it only takes being one degree off course for a ship to fail to reach its destintion. So it is true in leadership. So it is true in all of life. Don’t miss the mark!

📌know what your goals are—if you don’t know where you are going you are guaranteed to never arrive.

📌prepare & plan—what’s required to achieve? More time will always be spent preparing than implementing. But implementation always flows smoothly when proper preparation has been made. Love will always glow best in the details.

📌meal prep—if you can have dominion over food and what you put in your body, imagine the discipline and self control you can have over greater things.

📌be consistent-some effort is always better than no effort. Even the tiniest ounce of “try” builds momentum.

📌Fill yourself up with content that inspires, elevates & motivates you to the next level. You are the sum of your most dominant thoughts. Make it count.

📌surround yourself with greatness, it does rub off.

📌give yourself some grace & room for growth. Rome wasn’t built in a day, so neither will you be.

📌celebrate along the way. Smiling and laughter are therapeutic and good for the soul.

And the granddaddy of them all-

Then it can and it will and if it doesn’t you will still accomplish something amazing along the way.

I think you’ve got a chariot of fire burning within you. Ignite with Passion, Purpose and reach your potential. Build something not just of earthly value. Be Eternal. Yield something that will last forever…then you will not be merely great, you will become Legend.

Always Inspired~

🔱  “By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.“

Psalm 42:7

🔱  “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.“ Psalm 20:7

Risky Heart

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:47 am by Broken & Brave

“You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.”
~William Faulkner

Yesterday was a day of Celebration! My son was accepted to his college of choice. Looks like we have another Tiger in the family. My oldest, and only daughter, is graduating from college in May (she did it in four years!!) and my oldest son will take her place and represent well for our family on that particular college campus.

I was thinking a lot about risk taking this past week. Over the years God has really stretched me, asked me and even declared my obedience to be one of a risky nature. He’s taken me to some extremes, and even asked of me bold and daring things when my circumstances and life were their most lean. But in it, I saw Him dial in my heavenly support line and deliver the answer right on time.

I guess my kids have grown learning and observing this kind of faith, and for that I am grateful. See, at the time I was doing the ridiculous, despite what peers and even my own family thought, something more important was happening even above and beyond my own faith growth. My kids were learning to watch Mom and Dad and listen to our unwavering belief and then they could see the miracle! Risky faith trust is their norm. What stretched me, is the normal comfort zone for my children. I love that!

So when my son was applying for colleges we asked, “Where do you want to apply?” He had one answer and one answer only. He didn’t want to go anywhere else. He only wanted to apply once. All in. Plan A all the way and no Plan B until it were of absolute necessity. I told him if that’s what burned on his heart then God would make the way and though we didn’t know how it would turn out we knew God’s will for my son’s life would prevail. He took a calculated risk and it paid off!

Isn’t it the same with God? He sent his son to take a calculated and risky step of faith to overcome all of death, Hell and the grave. He took on your shame and allowed it to be nailed to his frame. All in the name of love. He was fully aware that not everyone would love him back or even believe in what he did…but he did it anyway that you might live.

Risky Faith is the only kind of faith there is. God is still glad he took risks for you today.

You are not the person you were yesterday.

You are not defined by your reality…
You are defined by your perceptions of that reality.

Life is driven by choices.

Every day can be your BEST and most BLESSED day activated with choices to change.

Did you know that your body is entirely made up of collagen? You have collagen everywhere. Collagen is what makes your skin firm and elastic. It does the same for your tendons, ligaments and it lines internal organs such as your heart. We lose 1% of our collagen every year after the age of 25.

Our bodies may be slowly on the decay, but our hearts, minds or spirit can grow more vigorous with time! Our drive to live our best version of our life is encapsulated with a mind that has been set right.

Spent some time visiting with a friend yesterday who just competed on an extreme obstacle course reality show. He blew through all the competition, but at the ultimate moment of climax he fell. He failed. He didn’t prevail in what he set out to do. Or did he? God’s mercy kept him from any major physical harm–it was a big fall. It has been a joy to watch how he transitioned from it all and has positioned himself for the greater within. He didn’t get defeated. He got up, testified to God’s Grace and is now planning some extreme climb up a ridiculously large mountain.

Have you fallen? Have you failed? Are you fearing what unknown may lie ahead because today seems a little ominous or dark? Have you clung to the trail God put you on? Hold tight, Dear One-you shall prevail. God’s got grander mountains still for you to climb and even higher you will rise.

Though in life we have problems, set backs and storms, God is constructing it all for your best self, best and most blessed version of your life. There is intense vigor in you still! Rise up, wipe the tears from your face, dust off the discouragement that may be trying to cling to you and press!
You are loved and blessed.

Get ready for your BEST.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Life is like a canvas–
Paint something good.

Just because someone is knocking at the door doesn’t mean you have to let them in…

So keep that door hinged tight to shut out every deleterious thought that drifts through your mind.
You have been given the mind of Christ.
You have come so far and you can’t look back or go back.
Things will never be the same and that’s good!
Because the best of you is still blessed within you waiting to bust through!

God always equips you when he calls you. So -of course- you can do it…that’s why he asked.

All the great ones have walked through enormous adversity on the route to cherished destiny. There is greater power in you still. Harness it, with the good Lord’s strength, focus it, like the champion thoroughbred you are, go through…whatever comes against you will not harm you. Just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego…

“and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.” Daniel 3:27

You, yourself, won’t even have the stench of smoke upon your clothes when you escape the fiery flames. But instead, God will use the heat to cause momentum and steam likened to a ship and will increase the velocity with which you propel forward.

God will propel you forward!

In a world that is continually telling you everything you’re not, I’m here to remind you…

You are…

Blessed-loved-esteemed -favored and a blessing.

Crown the day and make it yours!

Secrets to Strength

Posted in Devotional, true story tagged , , , , , , , at 7:36 am by Broken & Brave

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

What words are dripping from your lips? Are you self sabotaging your own better self, your own better health, you own best fitness or career ambition? Is your family suffering by the words falling from your mouth?

Our words have so much power to prophesy what will be. What you believe can shape and direct the very coarse of your life. In my own health and fitness I always imagined I could be very fit and the master of my food choices, but it took me a very long time to overcome and get to the level of discipline in my exercise and eating that I needed to be to see the fruit I wanted to see, but I did not give up. I kept speaking where I was going and believing it would come. This is only one example.

EVERY area of your life is at your disposal to be INCREDIBLE if you can just shift your mind. When you get your mind right, every issue of life becomes the lesser issue and takes flight from influencing your life. So get your mind right! You’ve got real strength behind those lips! ~Nicole
