“With Shield or On It…”

“They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
Rev. 12:11

Joan of Arc, Mary the mother of Jesus, William Wilberforce, William Wallace, all 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence. Every soldier who has stained the ground red and took a stand in our stead to protect our land. All of the above gave every ounce of their personal will, rights and convenience for a cause bigger than themselves. They knew and understood their choice. Doesn’t mean they liked it. You better believe their comforts zones were left so far behind they couldn’t even remember what it felt like to be in it. They gave it all, total surrender because their passion believed more deeply in their Purpose than anything else. What can be said of your purpose, your passion? What do you pursue?

You are earmarked for Glory.

God designed you with purpose. You may not give you life, your reputation or your wealth as these people did. But whatever you are called to give, are you willing? ~Nicole

Honesty

Posted in Devotional, true story tagged , , , , , at 4:24 am by Broken & Brave

Noah Webster (1758-1843), a Connecticut born man, studied law at Yale and had a passion for teaching. Whenever Webster saw a need for something he sat down and wrote an essay about it. He poured out his heart through his pen. Mr. Webster wrote the “Blue Back Speller” and by it brought a standard of excellence and unity to the English language via vocabulary and pronunciation. Mr. Webster did something else that made him great that seems to have slipped off the plate in the United States of things worthy and esteemed…

Noah Webster petitioned the government and established copyright protection for authors. By this law it is illegal to plagiarize or publish the writing of others without buying it. Intellectual property is property just the same.

My children attend a local private high school where they are required to turn every essay they write into a nationally used website for review. This website is for the prevention and detection of plagiarism. I sometimes wonder what would happen if social media-among other avenues of communication-had such a site to turn in everything we “publish” on our timelines?

Moral Character and Integrity are of the founding attributes that made America Great. Is it too late to reinstate?

God is coming back for a Victorious Bride. Her Light shining bright, her heart luminous with Hope and her moral compass securely intact. ~Nicole

“I will pay attention to living a life of integrity— when will I attain it? I will live with integrity of heart in my house.” Psalm 101:2

Becoming Unskinkable… Unthinkable?

Posted in Devotional, true story tagged , , , , , , , , , at 6:25 am by Broken & Brave

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass”
1 Thes. 5:24

Noah believed and held onto a promise of God for his life for many, many years. He endured insults, rejection and jeers-but that didn’t keep him from putting one foot in front of the other, hammer to the hull. Not only did everything the Lord told him happen, he saved his family from despair and he created a marvelous invention that had never been seen, required or desired before. Talk about a Visionary!

Next time you see a boat of any kind-remind yourself of Noah. He did the unthinkable and became unsinkable.

Hold onto your promises, move toward the Lord and His reward and watch yourself become unsinkable, too. That’s what God would want you to do. ~Nicole

Action Steps of Courage

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , at 4:59 am by Broken & Brave

Your Courage Counts;
Don’t be Overwhelmed

A step forward can be great gain when we use it to give Glory to His Name. You’re steps are Chosen. His Path for you clear. He has seen each one before you ever took one. Think about that. Have confidence in that! You can only bubble over with the Hope and Glory knowing you will have a Banner Year! No matter what you face today-it is building in you a foundation for brighter days…if you will just keep going!

Hope has an anthem and it sings in my heart. What is it that Hope has infused in your heart? Sing it! Use it to make a difference. God put you here to add value to the world. Do not count yourself out. Do not discount your value.

YOU COUNT in countless ways! ~Nicole

“Seek the Lord, and His strength; seek His face evermore.”

Build It!

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 6:45 am by Broken & Brave

“Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” Genesis 6:9

If God is ever going to do anything great with your life you must first believe in His power in your life. We can aspire, discipline ourselves, set goals and pursue them all, but without the right foundation it will collect mold. The dream or accomplishment won’t hold.

Noah’s biggest miracle wasn’t building an ark or gathering animals or even life in the first boat. His greatest Miracle was believing God.

Get it down deep. Let it stir your soul as you sleep. Christ was the Prophet the grave couldn’t keep. He has a dream for your life that will preserve your life with hope that floats. Build it! ~Nicole

Gold or Silver?

Posted in Devotional, true story tagged , , , , , at 6:07 am by Broken & Brave

God’s Timing

When God has a blessing for you it is important to wait for the full blessing in its full measure.

Waiting is hard. Patience is a golden virtue. Many years ago we sold our home during the peek of the market. We sold it to a couple we knew for far less than what the current market value called for. We did this because we knew for some time, 3 years, it’s what God wanted us to do. But we didn’t know right away who we would sell to or when. When the occasion arose as God described (the buyer would ask us to buy our home. No sign in the yard or advertising required). Not only did it create a way for this couple to own their first house, but also we knew obedience would bring us a great blessing. We had a real estate agent offer us $50,000 more than we were asking them and he said he’d still sell it to them at a good price. But we declined. We knew it was a lesser blessing disguised as monetary gain.

Wait for your promises and blessings as though you were waiting on a gift paid with interest.

Don’t settle for lesser treasure. Silver is good, but only second best. Trust God for a pot of Gold Treasure Chest! Waiting doesn’t always mean you’re not ready or need refining. Though refine us He does…sometimes it’s just about timing and waiting for His. ~Nicole

What If?…

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , at 6:18 am by Broken & Brave

What if…

What if Noah only obeyed God once he understood the request?
What if Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego decided to bow before the idol to spare themselves, but vowed to not do so in their heart?
What if Elijah stayed in a cave instead of going to Jezebel?
What if Mary said no to the Angel of the Lord? What if Jesus got down off of His Cross and said, “that’s all for me. This is too hard and it doesn’t make sense.”

What if…

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is a God who delights in displaying His Power and Creative Miracles. The Who’s Who of Heaven looks down on you and wants to display His power in and through your life. He still has power to roll a stone, break every mold and He still asks us to live by Faith. If we can figure all of His Precepts out and calculate His ways…well, He wouldn’t really be a God worth Worshiping.

Trust Him with your life even when His lead is full of Mystery. His Timing, His Path and your Victory will always Shine through and He will get all the credit. He is trustworthy. ~Nicole
