Dreamer

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , , , at 5:52 am by Broken & Brave

“And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8:27

Do you own a shovel?

Shovel out the contents of your heart. Quite the visual, isn’t it?

We can’t actually take a shovel and dig out our heart, and if we wanted to we’d have to ask someone to help us do it, but of course, we would most likely die.

But isn’t that just what God wants? To “dig out” all of us so that all that remains is Him? Don’t we sing it, pray it, “search my heart of God, less of me and more of you”…

I’ve been on His beautiful journey with the Holy Spirit. I’ve been a Christian most of my life, but it wasn’t until I was in my twenties that He awakened my soul to something more. The Eyes of His Spirit. And these eyes are like Night Vision Goggles.

The Word says His eyes roam to and fro over all of the earth keeping watch over both the wicked and the righteous. (Proverbs 15:3;
2 Chronicles 6:9)

But God has gifts to share and some of His gifts are the Eyes and Ears of His Spirit. In the Old Testament they were called Prophets or Seers. In the New Testament Acts Chapter 2 tongues of fire came and licked the people and they became filled to overflow with the Holy Spirit.

🔸🔸🔸
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”

Acts 2:17

🔸🔸🔸

I dream.

I have been one who dreams all of my life. I don’t just dream a little. I am a prolific dreamer, every night multiple dreams a night. But some dreams are more pressing and urgent than others. I am also a Dreamer, but they are not the same thing. One is an active recipient of instruction, wisdom, information/knowledge, discernment of principalities and guidance for intercession via the tool of dreams. The later is someone who is Visionary and can see with the minds eye what they want to see or God has shown them regarding the future. Many people, Christian or not, operate in the later of these types of Dreamers as they are leaders who “cast vision” for others to follow their lead and then they make the plan a reality. A visionary can see an old decaying house, but with the eyes of their imagination, they see its beauty and potential and what could be with the right amount of love. And many also create, cast vision or do something successful based on something “they saw in a dream”. I think this happens a lot with creative people.

But then there is the Intercessor. The Prophet. The Seer.

I have had eyes that see and ears that hear my whole life. But I didn’t necessarily know what it was. As a young person the realms of darkness began to torment me, persons without bodies, two dimensional dark forces who sway the Night would harass me. I had no one to talk to about it. I told my parents, but they didn’t understand it, because they didn’t ever experience anything like this personally.

These tormenting moments came in waves. But during my mid twenties, when God awoken me to something deeper-was the absolute point when these forces came against me in enormous measure. I had done nothing to encourage it. I have never dabbled in witchcraft…AT ALL! I’m too sensitive spiritually and had zero attraction to anything like that. But it was in this season that I also began to receive forces of Light and Life in the same way I was experiencing the darkness. And the Power of God Infused me and I began to realize for the first time in my life I had a spiritual, Biblical gifting called Discernment of Spirits. For someone with this gift, depending upon how strong the gift is in them (we can have gifts in degrees much like someone can be good at basketball and someone can be number one draft pick NBA good at basketball). So, depending on these variables, someone with this gift, or me anyway, experience and see the unseen world just as much as they see the natural world. Both are operating all around each of us everyday. The thing is–that all sounds kind of weird, right? Well, experiencing it can also be kind of weird. I have realized more and more there are people with these experiences sitting right next to us at work, or school or even our churches–but they don’t understand what they are experiencing and are afraid to talk to anyone about it, because quite frankly, it’s hard to describe and most just don’t get it. I can’t remember what year, google it, but Neil Anderson (who writes a lot about these topics) took a poll at Biola University and over 70% of the students expressed that they had experienced tormenting spirits or tormenting dreams.

God has been drawing such persons to me in ever growing measure recently. I was speaking with a Mom who reached out to me last week about her daughter who is experiencing some torment the same way I did as a 17 year old girl. What a joy to be able to Biblically guide her on how to handle and dismiss it with our God given Authority, but also clues as to maybe why she was encountering it or being targeted. Oh how I wish I’d had someone when I was 17 to explain all this to me! I was also able to share from my own personal experience.

Is this you? God has got people who can help you. All you really need to do is PRAY. He will send them to you. Be alert and pay attention, but even if you aren’t, God has a way of blessing us despite us! When I was in my mid-twenties, that point in life where I really began to break away from the chains of fear these spirits were trying to put on me and I began to learn the incredible Sword of Spirit I had been given, he was putting older women all around me who were seasoned veterans of the faith, prayer warriors, Intercessors, Seers, Prophetic who knew who they were in Christ and knew how to slay!! It was like for the first time in my life a thirst was being quenched in the best way. I was receiving wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

I used to always ask God, “Why would you gift people to see what we don’t really want to see? These beings are invisible for a reason!” It was all kind of creepy to me. But as I continued to grow, had women who helped me to understand that I had revelatory dreams and how to interpret them and then the discipleship of my own time with the Word and the Holy Spirit I became ever familiar with how the Voice of God spoke to me personally through dreams. I began to realize the weight of responsibility that came with these gifts. I realized how beautiful these gifts were because they can be used to protect people. Especially, for me, how I can use them to protect my own children.

This is all quite Biblical. Joseph’s gift of dreams and their interpretation made way for him. Jacob dreamed and saw in Spirit. The Apostle Paul said he travelled, but didn’t know if it was in Body or out of body. And Jesus himself told his disciples they would do everything he did.

I believe there are Seers everywhere. People gifted with Eyes of the Spirit, and the more refined and groomed the gift, the more emptied out we become, like our heart has been dug out with a shovel, the more room for the Giver to freely operate the gifts within us. We become more dependent on what God shows in the Spirit than anything else. And this is the substance of faith and it’s also the foundation for Creative Miracles. But that needs to be a different blog.

So, the other night I had one of these dreams, so vivid and real it was like I was actually in it. When I woke I was so disturbed by what I saw, but I received no revelation of the meaning. Sometimes my dreams are literal, as in this event is happening or is going to happen or has already happened. Sometimes my dreams are more figurative and symbolic. Sometimes they are a combination of both. So I usually spend much time in prayer and worship to receive direction on how to pray or proceed with what God has given me.

In the dream I saw a house, I saw the neighborhood, I saw a fire. I saw one house on fire and I could see the depth and intensity of the heat. I could see the flames licking at the community it was in. I saw specific people in the house. But I saw more…

When I woke I could not return to sleep for the dream was intense and so clear. I prayed. I asked God, is this symbolic for a move, a wave of the Holy Spirit? Or is my dream an actual fire? He never told me…until later the next day.

Someone at my church shared and what they described was like she was telling everyone my dream. I felt so grateful in that moment, not only for their safety, because it had indeed been a real fire, not symbolic, but for my own personal request to God for revelation of the dream being answered. It’s hard to know what to say in those moments.

I said something, because I saw more, but felt the need to hold back. But God is so unique-I realized later why he had shown me what he showed me. I had someone approach me in the parking lot and began to ask me about seeing things in dreams. They began to share their experiences and wanted insight. I was happy to explain and then pray with them. I know exactly how she felt. It’s so freeing when you find out “why?” !

As I got in my car my little one said, “THAT was a long talk.” I said, “Yes, it was”. It was like 10 minutes, lol. But in my heart I loved on my Jesus. He’s been mentoring me a lot lately about how His Love is willing to leave the 99 for the One. I told him I’d gladly love the one…hands down, every time. I know how that feels…to be the one.

God has got Intercessors. People He assigns like Watchmen on the Wall of Compassion. They receive from the Spirit and they wield weapons of warfare against dark forces and principalities that stalk the Night looking for people to rape, pillage and destroy. But God! Is Mighty and Valiant to save and He alone does the saving and revealing, but rest assured, His stealthy warriors are out there looking out for you. And if you have connected to anything I’ve said like God has taken a highlighter pen to your heart and my words have cut through, then this post is for you. God has put gifts in you and let this post be the catalyst to your seeking Him deeper and receiving the answers to your prayers and your experiences. He has more than enough wisdom, knowledge and understanding for you. His Mercy always shines through. He’s got you.

YOU are set apart. That means you are created, prepared and reserved for something special. God always has His eye on you watching your every move-not because he means to punish or extract something from you-but because He treasures you and He keeps inventory of the things He cherished most. He adores you and His thoughts toward you are adorable. So, you have been set apart. Let His love devour your fears, cares and troubles. Though storms may come, you will never be overcome. He is holding you now. ~Nicole

Peace-filled

Got Peace?

God wants our attention. At first He will be content with just a little bit, but He is a Jealous Lover of our soul. He wants of your life more and more. So, when trials come, turn your gaze to Him and leave it there when the trials end. For it is but too true…It is far better to have turmoil in your life, but Peace in your heart than to have peace in your life, but turmoil in your heart. ~Nicole

Be secretly-or not so secretly…
Incredible. Inner Peace has a way of making us incredible in every way.
The world aches for it. It is our responsibility to bring it. Love is the vehicle in which it travels.
Be at Peace.
Find your Rest.
There is Joy in the Harvest.

“For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain…having a desire to depart and to be with Christ; which is far better.”

Glorious, Radiant & Quiet

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:58 am by Broken & Brave

They say that when a woman is pregnant she has a radiance, a glow about her. She is beaming from the inside out.

The same is true when we experience the fullness of God…

It’s not anything that can be explained, only experienced. It is always very real, very personal and unique to the individual who experiences it.

The evidence of the experience is apparent on the persons countenance, much like the glow of the pregnant woman. It is a Radiance that comes with a heart that The Lord has etched His mark upon. Glorious Joy, Radiant Peace, a quietness of soul that gives Rest.

Long for it.

Seek after it.

You will not be denied.

ALL

Lord,

How can I adequately sing a song of praise to you? How can I properly change my heart to execute your Goodness, Mercy and Love?
There is no one like you…
Not on the earth.
Not under the earth-
Nor can one be found in the sea or within the heavens.
You alone are ALL.
Because you are ALL- and that means everything, there could never be another like you.
May your pen change me,
Mend me, mold me, conform and transform me into your likeness daily. Not to try to be you- but to be a living, breathing reason for another to believe in earth, just as every angel does in heaven.

Angels do exist-
and sometimes they are no more than Heavens gentle kiss on the life and the bliss of human hearts that may at one time been broken or cold.
You reach…
You touch…
You create beauty is us…
We never grow old.
We are made new, through and through.
Each day we are brand new.
You don’t recycle us – you actually create new life in us and this is a glorious thing.

May the kiss of heaven be with you this and every day…
Creating magical memories and miracles –
Profound miracles along the Way.
Love is the Greeting Card of Heaven. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

Comfortable Shoes

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , at 8:00 am by Broken & Brave

It takes me a long time to decide if I like something. This is true for almost everything. There are very few things I immediately love. But once I’ve decided and settled on it, I become attached and that’s that, I’m loyal to the core.

As long as I can remember I have been engaged with a deep love affair for shoes. That’s right…shoes. I have no idea what caused me to love them so, but for as long as I know I’ve had a fond attachment to them. I don’t love all shoes, of course, I’m particular about this as well.

When I was a young girl I remember asking my Grandmother (Grammy we called her) if I could go into her closet and try on her shoes. She was a diminutive woman and her foot a little small, so even as a young girl her shoes were still big, but not so big that I couldn’t picture how they’d look if I fit them a little better. Every Christmas this same grandmother would ask what I wanted for a gift and I always told her I wanted new shoes, namely boots. I loved heels and boots best, but of course my mother had the sense to not allow me to wear heels until I was older, so boots it was. I can still probably remember every pair she ever bought me.

Have you ever had a pair of shoes you missed? I’ve had many. I had a pair of shoes I purchased my junior year of college. It was a time when booties (ankle boots) were just coming into style. Seemed the trend for everyone was the style that looked a little like a cowboy boot, but short. I liked them, but as usual, when I went shopping I selected an ankle bootie, but it looks nothing like any boot I’d seen. This is so typical me-I do know that I always love things a little different or unique from the trends. I am also an efficient shopper. I have an agenda and go to find exactly what I’m looking for and am usually done shopping in and out the store tops 20-30 minutes. This particular boot took me a little while to decide how much I liked them. I liked them enough to wear them, but wasn’t really sure I loved them. But the more I wore them, the more they worked their way into my heart. The sole and the leather creased in all the right places and conformed to my foot image making my stride not only fashionable, but extremely comfortable and practical. Also big pluses for me. I have to be comfortable in my clothes or shoes.
This pair of shoes probably became an all time favorite pair. I wore them out, had the soles replaced, and wore them out again. I finally had to get rid of them despite the faithful friend they’d been.

How about you? Have you had something you loved dearly and stuck to it faithfully like glue? Are there things in your life that bring you comfort and are familiar?

Well…let me tell you about my Friend. He will stick closer to you than any kind of bondo glue. He is better than any shoe I’ve ever owned. He will help you. He will be loyal to you. Not only that, but He will guide your soul and bring peace like the comfort of a pair of well worn, yet sturdy shoes. He will protect your heart, mind, soul and will offer you Peace and constantly remind you how much you are adored. Far better than any pair of shoes I’ve ever owned.

The God of all Heaven is waiting for your relationship to begin. He is Patient. He is low pressure. He is Gentle. He is oh so very Kind. He knows you may be a little fickle and particular-just like me. He understands you may like to take your time and think. Your cautious about Him maybe because you’re just not sure what He’s all about and if following Him is going to be a good fit for your life. Although He already knows that He is a custom fit, He just keeps shining and beaming and waiting for you to select him. King Jesus, the ultimate Lover of your Soul. He will crown your life with gold and drape his Goodness all about you like garments. He will bring you His shoes of peace and will comfort your life.

God bless your life. His timing is always right. He offers beauty for pain and comfort even in the rainy storms of life.

Healthy Habits

Posted in Devotional tagged , , , , , , at 6:57 am by Broken & Brave

Anything you do with consistency you get better at. If you want to get stronger, you will move and use your body everyday in some way. Even if it’s not a trip to the gym, you’ll do something that exerts energy. If you want to get healthier you’ll eat nutritious foods and drink plenty of water, maybe even take a few vitamins. If you want to expand your vocabulary you will spend ample time reading materials that intellectually stimulate and challenge you. If you want to nurture and build a relationship you will pay attention to it faithfully. You get the idea. This is one of several reasons why I write everyday. It’s also why we should devote time to devote ourselves to read the Word and pray. God actually has a lot to say and has ample answers to those prayers you pray, but are we listening? Are we slowing down to hear? Are we carving out time in the business of life to even hear ourselves think?

Cultivate the habit of taking a few meditative moments every day. Begin this way. You’ll be amazed at the time you actual save because you will be stable and able to better focus, maneuver and navigate your day all because you simply took a few moments to breath in your moments and thank God for the good things in your life. God cares about our habits. Let’s make it a good habit of accepting Love from Him. ~>Nicole

Reborn🌹

Never Had a Better Friend

The Lord has striped me in many ways.

Yet, He preserves each and every one of my days.

He took away so much that mattered to me

and in the process grafted me more tightly into His Tree.

He drew me near and showered me with blessings from above.

He gave me increase in my capacity to Love.

He showed me His devotion and care

Yet I know He will not only stop there.

He took me as a seed and planted me in the Earth.

He provided the water of Salvation in Jesus

giving me second birth.

He rose from the grave and captured my soul.

So who am I to complain or be afraid of any foe?

He crowned me with splendor and His Grace crowns my head.

He asked me to walk this earth in an effort to revive the dead.

So many are abandoned and left without Hope.

Without Jesus they are left with no strength to cope.

They turn to drugs, violence, suicide and sin

Never gaining the purity of heart that can free them from within.

Who am I to complain when troubles cross my path?

For I have access to the very Throne of the One giving me life that will last.

Blessed Jesus, my Savior, Companion, my Friend

Who could turn from you, ignoring the battle within?

There is a day to day struggle that occurs

With in the hearts of all men.

Without Jesus, we are doomed to failure

in a battle that has no end.

Seek Jesus, the Savior, a Friend to all man.

Only He can take a shattered life, put it back together

And make it whole once again.

Seek, Jesus, the Savior, who was crucified and rose again.

He knows of your suffering, your loneliness and can take it from you, putting your misery to end.

Seek Jesus! Seek Jesus! I have never known another to be such a great Friend.

Build Yourself Up

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:39 am by Broken & Brave

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
Luke 6:40

Years ago I was blessed to receive some in depth instruction and training from some premier Doctors in the field of nutrition and preventative medicine. I soaked in and learned enormously from these two men. I was able to obtain my training on audio and would play it over and over in my car. The more I learned and grew, the more I began to sound like these two doctors, full of the knowledge and wisdom they had generously passed on. It was a very cool experience and a rich blessing as I have had a passion and interest in health, wellness and nutrition most of my life. I studied nutrition in depth in college and now I find myself surrounded by people who are highly successful in a field I am passionate about. God put these people in my life to help me grow and learn more and pursue my God given dream to help people build a lasting legacy of longevity, disease free with high functioning mobility.

Whatever your life holds and whatever your journey entails, be mindful that God will give you exactly the instruction you need when you need it. If you are eager and ready He will bring the right resource to you to help you grow and learn what you need in order to achieve the dream, goal or desire. So don’t give up! Even if you make a lot of mistakes along the way, when you keep trying you will eventually deepen with understanding and get it right. Pay attention as God may bring people in your life who will add value, springing you forward and lifting you up. It is true, the only ones who fail are those who quit. Don’t quit! ~Nicole
