Glorious, Radiant & Quiet

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:58 am by Broken & Brave

They say that when a woman is pregnant she has a radiance, a glow about her. She is beaming from the inside out.

The same is true when we experience the fullness of God…

It’s not anything that can be explained, only experienced. It is always very real, very personal and unique to the individual who experiences it.

The evidence of the experience is apparent on the persons countenance, much like the glow of the pregnant woman. It is a Radiance that comes with a heart that The Lord has etched His mark upon. Glorious Joy, Radiant Peace, a quietness of soul that gives Rest.

Long for it.

Seek after it.

You will not be denied.

ALL

Lord,

How can I adequately sing a song of praise to you? How can I properly change my heart to execute your Goodness, Mercy and Love?
There is no one like you…
Not on the earth.
Not under the earth-
Nor can one be found in the sea or within the heavens.
You alone are ALL.
Because you are ALL- and that means everything, there could never be another like you.
May your pen change me,
Mend me, mold me, conform and transform me into your likeness daily. Not to try to be you- but to be a living, breathing reason for another to believe in earth, just as every angel does in heaven.

Angels do exist-
and sometimes they are no more than Heavens gentle kiss on the life and the bliss of human hearts that may at one time been broken or cold.
You reach…
You touch…
You create beauty is us…
We never grow old.
We are made new, through and through.
Each day we are brand new.
You don’t recycle us – you actually create new life in us and this is a glorious thing.

May the kiss of heaven be with you this and every day…
Creating magical memories and miracles –
Profound miracles along the Way.
Love is the Greeting Card of Heaven. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

Comfortable Shoes

Posted in Inspirational, true story tagged , , , , , , at 8:00 am by Broken & Brave

It takes me a long time to decide if I like something. This is true for almost everything. There are very few things I immediately love. But once I’ve decided and settled on it, I become attached and that’s that, I’m loyal to the core.

As long as I can remember I have been engaged with a deep love affair for shoes. That’s right…shoes. I have no idea what caused me to love them so, but for as long as I know I’ve had a fond attachment to them. I don’t love all shoes, of course, I’m particular about this as well.

When I was a young girl I remember asking my Grandmother (Grammy we called her) if I could go into her closet and try on her shoes. She was a diminutive woman and her foot a little small, so even as a young girl her shoes were still big, but not so big that I couldn’t picture how they’d look if I fit them a little better. Every Christmas this same grandmother would ask what I wanted for a gift and I always told her I wanted new shoes, namely boots. I loved heels and boots best, but of course my mother had the sense to not allow me to wear heels until I was older, so boots it was. I can still probably remember every pair she ever bought me.

Have you ever had a pair of shoes you missed? I’ve had many. I had a pair of shoes I purchased my junior year of college. It was a time when booties (ankle boots) were just coming into style. Seemed the trend for everyone was the style that looked a little like a cowboy boot, but short. I liked them, but as usual, when I went shopping I selected an ankle bootie, but it looks nothing like any boot I’d seen. This is so typical me-I do know that I always love things a little different or unique from the trends. I am also an efficient shopper. I have an agenda and go to find exactly what I’m looking for and am usually done shopping in and out the store tops 20-30 minutes. This particular boot took me a little while to decide how much I liked them. I liked them enough to wear them, but wasn’t really sure I loved them. But the more I wore them, the more they worked their way into my heart. The sole and the leather creased in all the right places and conformed to my foot image making my stride not only fashionable, but extremely comfortable and practical. Also big pluses for me. I have to be comfortable in my clothes or shoes.
This pair of shoes probably became an all time favorite pair. I wore them out, had the soles replaced, and wore them out again. I finally had to get rid of them despite the faithful friend they’d been.

How about you? Have you had something you loved dearly and stuck to it faithfully like glue? Are there things in your life that bring you comfort and are familiar?

Well…let me tell you about my Friend. He will stick closer to you than any kind of bondo glue. He is better than any shoe I’ve ever owned. He will help you. He will be loyal to you. Not only that, but He will guide your soul and bring peace like the comfort of a pair of well worn, yet sturdy shoes. He will protect your heart, mind, soul and will offer you Peace and constantly remind you how much you are adored. Far better than any pair of shoes I’ve ever owned.

The God of all Heaven is waiting for your relationship to begin. He is Patient. He is low pressure. He is Gentle. He is oh so very Kind. He knows you may be a little fickle and particular-just like me. He understands you may like to take your time and think. Your cautious about Him maybe because you’re just not sure what He’s all about and if following Him is going to be a good fit for your life. Although He already knows that He is a custom fit, He just keeps shining and beaming and waiting for you to select him. King Jesus, the ultimate Lover of your Soul. He will crown your life with gold and drape his Goodness all about you like garments. He will bring you His shoes of peace and will comfort your life.

God bless your life. His timing is always right. He offers beauty for pain and comfort even in the rainy storms of life.

Healthy Habits

Posted in Devotional tagged , , , , , , at 6:57 am by Broken & Brave

Anything you do with consistency you get better at. If you want to get stronger, you will move and use your body everyday in some way. Even if it’s not a trip to the gym, you’ll do something that exerts energy. If you want to get healthier you’ll eat nutritious foods and drink plenty of water, maybe even take a few vitamins. If you want to expand your vocabulary you will spend ample time reading materials that intellectually stimulate and challenge you. If you want to nurture and build a relationship you will pay attention to it faithfully. You get the idea. This is one of several reasons why I write everyday. It’s also why we should devote time to devote ourselves to read the Word and pray. God actually has a lot to say and has ample answers to those prayers you pray, but are we listening? Are we slowing down to hear? Are we carving out time in the business of life to even hear ourselves think?

Cultivate the habit of taking a few meditative moments every day. Begin this way. You’ll be amazed at the time you actual save because you will be stable and able to better focus, maneuver and navigate your day all because you simply took a few moments to breath in your moments and thank God for the good things in your life. God cares about our habits. Let’s make it a good habit of accepting Love from Him. ~>Nicole

Never Had a Better Friend

The Lord has striped me in many ways.

Yet, He preserves each and every one of my days.

He took away so much that mattered to me

and in the process grafted me more tightly into His Tree.

He drew me near and showered me with blessings from above.

He gave me increase in my capacity to Love.

He showed me His devotion and care

Yet I know He will not only stop there.

He took me as a seed and planted me in the Earth.

He provided the water of Salvation in Jesus

giving me second birth.

He rose from the grave and captured my soul.

So who am I to complain or be afraid of any foe?

He crowned me with splendor and His Grace crowns my head.

He asked me to walk this earth in an effort to revive the dead.

So many are abandoned and left without Hope.

Without Jesus they are left with no strength to cope.

They turn to drugs, violence, suicide and sin

Never gaining the purity of heart that can free them from within.

Who am I to complain when troubles cross my path?

For I have access to the very Throne of the One giving me life that will last.

Blessed Jesus, my Savior, Companion, my Friend

Who could turn from you, ignoring the battle within?

There is a day to day struggle that occurs

With in the hearts of all men.

Without Jesus, we are doomed to failure

in a battle that has no end.

Seek Jesus, the Savior, a Friend to all man.

Only He can take a shattered life, put it back together

And make it whole once again.

Seek, Jesus, the Savior, who was crucified and rose again.

He knows of your suffering, your loneliness and can take it from you, putting your misery to end.

Seek Jesus! Seek Jesus! I have never known another to be such a great Friend.

Build Yourself Up

Posted in true story tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:39 am by Broken & Brave

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
Luke 6:40

Years ago I was blessed to receive some in depth instruction and training from some premier Doctors in the field of nutrition and preventative medicine. I soaked in and learned enormously from these two men. I was able to obtain my training on audio and would play it over and over in my car. The more I learned and grew, the more I began to sound like these two doctors, full of the knowledge and wisdom they had generously passed on. It was a very cool experience and a rich blessing as I have had a passion and interest in health, wellness and nutrition most of my life. I studied nutrition in depth in college and now I find myself surrounded by people who are highly successful in a field I am passionate about. God put these people in my life to help me grow and learn more and pursue my God given dream to help people build a lasting legacy of longevity, disease free with high functioning mobility.

Whatever your life holds and whatever your journey entails, be mindful that God will give you exactly the instruction you need when you need it. If you are eager and ready He will bring the right resource to you to help you grow and learn what you need in order to achieve the dream, goal or desire. So don’t give up! Even if you make a lot of mistakes along the way, when you keep trying you will eventually deepen with understanding and get it right. Pay attention as God may bring people in your life who will add value, springing you forward and lifting you up. It is true, the only ones who fail are those who quit. Don’t quit! ~Nicole

Suit Up!

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:38 am by Broken & Brave

People work, strive, plan, creating and attempting to create something every human soul craves…security.
We put money aside for retirement. We save. We budget and bargain shop stretching our dollars as far as they will go. We buy insurance for every imaginable detail of life.

But as long as you live you will need spiritual security. You will need your armor. Life is full of the unexpected. We don’t live expecting bad things or troubles to come, but we know we live in an imperfect world. We know better than to fantasize about a pseudo-eutopia. When we place our security in the right place, the correct Source, we know we are protected.

Wait for the Lord, behave honorably, never lose hope, maintain courage. To fear is to doubt God. Trust Him. Steadily offer your heart, mind, body, soul to the true and secure anchor for it all. Bonafide child of God. What are you so worried for anyway? Never give up! This is what it means to truly live by faith. You possess past grace, present grace and there is future grace for you as well. Grace is not just God’s favor and protection, it is also him causing good things to happen for you. He brings the blessings to you. So suit up soldier and relax in his Grace! He’s got you. ~Nicole

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God…”

Activated Faith

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , at 7:01 am by Broken & Brave

I think technology is great. Computers, internet, cell phones, social media, etc. It creates a fast way to connect, learn, communicate. However, I am also a very old fashion girl. I prefer face to face communication. Maybe its the counselor in me. Active listening skills require feedback, observation of non verbal communication and listening.

That’s how it is with God also. We can see glimpses of him in music, the sunset, etc. But it’s when we pour ourselves into Him that He shows us his face, his heart and blesses us with his Presence.

You are loved. You are valuable. You are set apart to do great things. He is with you and he is calling you by name. Do not be afraid to reach back to him the same.

Real Power

Posted in Devotional, true story, Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , at 7:16 am by Broken & Brave

The woman entered her car, only to find herself at gunpoint. The end of the gun had a man preparing to rape her. She pleaded with the man not to do this horrible thing. He cursed her and told her to shut up. She continued to plead with him telling him God loved him and would forgive him. He told her if she wasn’t quiet when he was finished he’d cut her into little pieces. She then, calmly looked the man in the eyes and said, “Then every piece of me will love you and forgive you.” The man sat back, bewildered by her statement. Then he released her and fled from her car. Neither raping her nor harming her at all.

This is a true story I heard many years ago from the woman’s perspective. It pierced me to the core. Could I love someone like that? I felt God challenge me to pursue that kind of grace. That’s how it is with God’s love. When we choose to love those we should hate, it has the power to heal brokenness, bind wounds and deliver the broken hearted. Though this story and extreme, but true, example… Imagine what the power to forgive can do.

Isaiah 62:10

That’s how it is with God’s Love….that’s what real power look like. -Nicole
