Heartbeat of a Winner

You are a Winner!

Champion does not mean first place-first prize.

A Champion is an ardent defender of purpose and people. God is your defender. He is ardent, unwavering, in his devotion to humanity. You count on him to do what only he can do and he will do it for you. You can trust him! Many times we SAY we trust him, but then we continue to take care of everything ourself. We believe he will bless our effort and that’s the extent of our trust. But what about trust that reaches beyond borders into unchartered waters and He alone is your compass or map? This is an entirely different trust zone.

You never go alone. You can count on him to help you win. Winning is about overcoming all that holds you back within so you can go out and help everyone around you. Glorious! ~Nicole

Details…

I was raised my a Mother who payed enormous attention to the details. Today, I recognize the merit to be found in this. Sometimes it takes a long time to truly get to know a person…and at times it takes even longer to get best acquainted with ourself.

Let’s look now to Rebekah of the Bible and discover what happened for a young woman who was focused on the humble details of life…

“So it was, when the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden nose ring, weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold, and said, ‘Who’s daughter are you?’
Genesis 24:22

(Read Genesis chapter 24 for background)

Rebekah went to the well that day to fetch water for her family. She knew why she was sent and she knew where to go and her purpose for going. But on the long dusty road she met a man who changed her life and secured her destiny forever. There was a deeper, grander purpose for Rebekah’s life that she had not discovered prior to that day. That day, her life changed and would never be the same.

When God reveals His good purpose for your life it edifies heart and soul. It gives one a new vigor and zeal for even the most mundane tasks. It is at this point you know you are working for something bigger than yourself and is more precious than the tiny details of the day. It is those small purposes and tasks, done well, each and every day that lend to greater break through in the grand calling of your life. Rebekah had greatness inside that was seen by the Man and maybe unknown to herself when promotion came to her hand.

What does God see when He examines your life? Are you serving as He has called you to serve? Are you daring to venture into the wilderness for a cup of water? If so, are you willing to risk failure and discomfort to obtain it? Are you willing to sweat and labor for it?

Do the little things with great zeal and purpose and watch God do for you as He did for Rebekah. You’ve got Greatness in you yet. -Nicole

Honesty

Noah Webster (1758-1843), a Connecticut born man, studied law at Yale and had a passion for teaching. Whenever Webster saw a need for something he sat down and wrote an essay about it. He poured out his heart through his pen. Mr. Webster wrote the “Blue Back Speller” and by it brought a standard of excellence and unity to the English language via vocabulary and pronunciation. Mr. Webster did something else that made him great that seems to have slipped off the plate in the United States of things worthy and esteemed…

Noah Webster petitioned the government and established copyright protection for authors. By this law it is illegal to plagiarize or publish the writing of others without buying it. Intellectual property is property just the same.

My children attend a local private high school where they are required to turn every essay they write into a nationally used website for review. This website is for the prevention and detection of plagiarism. I sometimes wonder what would happen if social media-among other avenues of communication-had such a site to turn in everything we “publish” on our timelines?

Moral Character and Integrity are of the founding attributes that made America Great. Is it too late to reinstate?

God is coming back for a Victorious Bride. Her Light shining bright, her heart luminous with Hope and her moral compass securely intact. ~Nicole

“I will pay attention to living a life of integrity— when will I attain it? I will live with integrity of heart in my house.” Psalm 101:2

Edified?

Posted in Devotional, Uncategorized tagged , , , , at 6:26 am by Broken & Brave

This is a portion of a text I received yesterday from a woman who is in her own zone, breaking the mold, exploring and realizing her own potential as she helps others. She is finding her purpose through service. The serving of others. But not just any service, the service God is calling her to do. God has something unique for each of us to do.

When your heart and soul are edified you come alive. You know in your heart what to do, what you are meant to do. It’s like a quickening of the soul from the Lord guiding you and encouraging you from within. It is a driving force that nothing can compare to and nothing can describe. When you feel it you come alive. You can’t explain it- you have to experience it.

In life there are many things that can bring enjoyment. There are many things that can “drive” our zeal. But the settled heart of the inner man or woman is all of those things and at the same time in a place of content rest. With that, you can’t help but have success. Be Strong. Live Strong. Be Edified and the Lord shall be Glorified. ~Nicole
